Director Vignesh Shivn and Sivakarthikeyan were announced to do a film together (tentatively called SK 17), but unfortunately, the film didn’t take off as planned. After months of wait and perseverance, the film still didn’t find any progress and as a result, director Vignesh Shivn has now moved on to another new project. Yes, according to the latest updates that we hear from our sources, Vignesh Shivn has started the preparatory works for his next, which happens to be the already announced Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal.

Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the male lead in this film, while Nayanthara will be seen as one of the two female leads. Both, Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara have their dates full for the next few months and hence the team is said to be sorting that out now. Once that is sorted out, the film’s shooting schedules will be planned. It is said that the team is planning to start the film’s shooting from May. Interestingly, it can be recalled that Vignesh Shivn met Vijay Sethupathi a few days back at the sets of Tughlaq Durbar for the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan actor’s birthday.

But, what we hear is that the duo met and discussed about starting Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal very soon. When the project was announced a few years back, it was said that Trisha will be seen as the other female lead, but looking at the current situation, it looks unlikely. Trisha will soon start shooting for Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan and she also has ‘Chiru 152’ in her kitty. We are exclusively told that Vignesh Shivn and his team are looking out for the other female lead and we will get more clarity about it in the coming days.

This new film will be produced by Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio. Lalit Kumar is the co-producer of Thalapathy Vijay’s ongoing film, Master and is also the producer of films like Vijay Sethupathi’s Tughlaq Durbar and Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra. Without any second thoughts, we can be sure that this film will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Well, doesn’t it sound exciting? Yes, let us wait for an official announcement and get set for Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal to go on floors soon. Stay tuned.
