Venom is superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel and Tencent Pictures. It stars Tom Hardy as Venom, alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. In Venom, journalist Brock gains superpowers after being bound to an alien symbiote whose species plans to invade Earth. Though the film which released in 2019 received negatives reviews from the critics, the film did go on to become a commercial success at the box office.  
 
The second edition of Venom franchise which was releasing planned to release for October 2nd has now been postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19. This film is being directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel. The Filming for this second part took place at Leavesden Studios in England from November 2019 to February 2020, with additional filming in San Francisco in February. The makers have now revealed the title of this second part which will be called Venom: Let There Be Carnage and the release date has been pushed to June 25, 2021.
