Comedian turned hero Santhanam's next big film, Dikkiloona, will see the actor in a triple role for the first time in his career. Santa, as he is lovingly called by his fans, tasted success with his Parris Jeyaraj released earlier this year, with fans gearing up for the release of his Dikkiloona next. Initially planned for a theatrical release in 2020, production works on the film had suffered a delay as in line with all other ventures in the Tamil film industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Jointly produced by Rajesh Kotapadi's KJR Studios and Balloon director Sinish’s Soldiers Factory banners, Dikkiloona has now been announced for a direct OTT release on the streaming platform, ZEE5 Tamil.

Dikkiloona heading for a straight OTT release has been in debate for a while now, with KJR Studios' official announcement on Wednesday also carrying the film’s release plans and will be premiering on September 10 on the auspicious occasion of Vinayagar Chathurthi. Expectations for Dikkiloona have been quite high considering Santhanam will be seen in triple roles, with the film's hilarious and intriguing trailer released last year receiving a largely positive response. The upcoming film will incidentally also include plenty of science fiction elements as was teased in the trailer, with Yuvan Shankar Raja's music as well serving to be a big and additional USP. Below is KJR Studios' official announcement on Dikkiloona's release:

Dikkiloona marks the directorial debut of Karthik Yogi, who appeared in a supporting role in Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram. Santhanam has been paired opposite Anagha of Natpe Thunai fame in Dikkiloona, with former Indian Cricket Team cricketer Harbhajan Singh as well making his Tamil cinema debut. Likewise, the film's supporting cast features several prominent names among whom are Yogi Babu, Shirin Kanchwala, Anand Raj, Munish Kanth, Motta Rajendiran, Chitra lakshmanan, Arun Alexander, Sha Rah and YouTuber Prashanth.
