Radikaa Sarathkumar is one of the pioneers in the Tamil television serial industry and she owns a humongous fan base, especially among the household audience. Her current serial - Chithi 2 started airing on Sun TV earlier this year (in January) and it opened to a good reception. However, the shooting was stopped last month due to the coronavirus pandemic situation which still prevails. As the shoot didn’t happen for new episodes to be telecast, the makers decided to re telecast the first part, Chithi in the same time slot.

Recently, rumours were rife that the channel has asked the makers of the serial to resume shooting for the new set of episodes and this created confusion. Addressing the speculation, Radikaa has now shared an audio voice note, clarifying the issue. She said, “The channel hasn’t asked us to go for shooting. We were just informed to be prepared and be ready whenever the situation gets better. Only the Government has to decide when we can resume shooting and get back to work and the channel cannot decide it. More importantly, Kodambakkam is labelled as a hotspot region for Corona and so, we are definitely not going to shoot now.

All the producers will discuss together and come to a conclusion. Khushbu has given a few suggestions and I have also given my inputs to R.K.Selvamani. We will decide about it once the situation gets better. Once again, I would like to clarify that the channel never asked us to go for the shoot. We were just asked to be prepared.
