Leading Telugu actor Prabhas' market shot up post the stupendous box office success of the Baahubali films, with the superstar since then being announced to be a part of several upcoming biggies among which include Radhe Shyam opposite Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo star Pooja Hegde under Radha Krishna Kumar's direction, followed by the tentatively titled Project K with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and acting legend Amitabh Bachchan under Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin's direction, filmmaker Om Raut's Adipurush which is a mythological venture based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, including Salaar with KGF franchise's Prashanth Neel. 

Baahubali's astounding success has since then made Prabhas a pan-Indian star, with all his upcoming films as well attaining the same status. In that light, the first of the lot in the pipeline, Radhe Shyam, a period romantic drama, wrapped up its complete production on Thursday. Produced by Vamsi and Pramod under their UV Creations banner and being presented by UV Krishnam Raju's Gopi Krishna Movies Private Limited, the makers on Friday made a grand announcement informing fans that Radhe Shyam will be hitting screens worldwide on January 14, 2022 as a Sankranthi release, while also sharing a new special poster featuring Prabhas. Radhe Shyam is set in Europe and the plot revolves around Vikramaditya, a fortune teller essayed by Prabhas and Prerana, a princess being played by Pooja Hedge. The film has also been dubbed for Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada audiences, with the Hindi version set to be released by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. Apart from Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, the film also includes Sachin Khedekar, Priyadarshi, Bhagyashree, Murli Sharma, Sasha Chettri, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sathyan among others in major supporting roles. Radhe Shyam also has a stellar technical crew featuring names like Manoj Paramahamsa for the cinematography, production design by R Raveendar and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
