Jayam Ravi tasted back-to-back successes with the action thriller, Adanga Maru, and the comedy family drama, Comali, and is at present working in ace director Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan. Prior to being announced as part of Ponniyin Selvan, Jayam Ravi had been working in director Lakshman's Bhoomi, which incidentally is the popular actor's landmark 25th film and also in Manithan director's Jana Gana Mana.

Among the upcoming projects, Jayam Ravi's Bhoomi is the third occasion the actor is collaborating with director Lakshman after their previous ventures, Romeo Juliet and Bogan. Touted to be a rural action film, Jayam Ravi is paired opposite actress Nidhhi Agerwal, who is incidentally making her Tamil cinema debut. Produced by Jayam Ravi’s mother-in-law, Sujataa Vijayakumar, under the Home Movie Makers banner with music by D. Imman, it has now been revealed that the much-awaited Bhoomi teaser will be releasing on February 29.

Announced to hit theatres on May 1 as a grand summer release, there are quite a lot of expectations surrounding Bhoomi considering Jayam Ravi has been choosing scripts with precision and fans are hoping for the actor to deliver yet another memorable performance as his Comali last year.
