Choreographer turned actor and politician Gayathri Raguramm shot to the limelight after becoming one of the most talked about controversial participants of the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil, in Season 1. Since then, she has constantly been in the headlines for her caustic comments about different celebrities and their actions. Recently, she created a stir with a snide remark on one of actress Khushbu's posts. Now, Gayathri has made the headlines again, after taking a dig at Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi for his speech at the recently held Master audio launch!

Vijay Sethupathi had termed people who fight in the name of God as viruses and asked the people to stay away from such radicals. He had also mentioned that God has been there for thousands of years and mere mortals cannot save God and fighting in the name of God should be avoided. Sethupathi also advocated that only humanity is important. Taking offense at Vijay Sethupathi's statements, Gayathri Raguramm had posted a series of tweets condemning his statements. She voiced her opinion that one should not condemn god believers and stated that no other human would come to support a fellow human like Vijay Sethupathi had stated and mentioned that making fun of religion and its followers is wrong.

Many people took offense to Gayathri Raguramm's statements and began expressing their views. When media began reporting this issue, Gayathri again posted that she had not condemned Vijay Sethupathi's views but had expressed her opposition to it. However, it has come to light that there had been steps to have her Twitter account blocked and now Gayathri has again tweeted in this regard. She has taken on the Sun TV network and mentioned that everybody knows that they have money and power and asked them not to show it against people like her. Gayathri has questioned how her account violated any copyright laws as she had only re-tweeted posts and had not posted any video from the Master audio launch, directly. There seems to be quite a lot brewing in this controversy with Gayathri also mentioning, "the people who fight in the name of god That is Hindus/Muslims/Christians (for the their right) they are not bad people, they r staunch believers."
