In the midst of the COVID-19 virus outbreak that has plagued the entire world, the matchmaking and matrimonial website, Shaadi.com has taken into consideration the need for social distancing during the ongoing crisis and has come up with a solution for couples who were planning to enter wedlock this year. The portal has begun conducting weddings on the mass video calling app, Zoom, where couples do not have to wait for the lockdown to come to an end with services being extended across all religions. Post the implementation of the nationwide lockdwon, Shaadi.com has shared stories of two weddings-from-homes on their social media with the first couple being Avinash and Kriti on April 14 while the next pair, Keerti and Sushen, are set to tie the knot next via video conference on April 19. Social media has been abuzz with Shaadi.com's latest smart move to keep the custom of marriages going in India even during the lockdown period considering the wedding industry as well as has suffered innumerable losses already.
