Asuran actor Teejay Arunasalam's Thatrom Thookrom will be about demonetisation!
Independent singer Teejay Arunasalam made his acting debut in last year's blockbuster, Asuran, starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead roles under director Vetri Maaran and was produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu's V Creations banner. Asuran had Teejay playing the role of Dhanush's elder son, who gets killed, with Ken Karunas, his younger brother killing the man responsible for his death. Teejay's performance was one among the several highlights in the film and went on to be lauded for his showing his acting skills in the first opportunity that had come his way.
Teejay, who had already established himself to be a popular name among the youth in Tamil Nadu with his songs and albums, had also committed to act in a film titled, Thatrom Thookrom, in 2017 itself and was cast as an 18-year-old youngster. It has now been revealed that Thatrom Thookrom is finally preparing for its theatrical release and will be hitting screens later this year. Directed by Arul S, the film's plot will revolve entirely around demonetisation, three orphan boys who want to become rich and the problems they encounter in the process.
Apart from Teejay, Thatrom Thookrom's cast includes names like Sakthivel Kalkona, Nandu Suresh, the late Cheenu Mohan, Marimuthu, Kaali Venkat, Fouzi among others featuring music by Balamurali Balu with cinematography by N Sathish Murugan, editing by Sudharshan and lyrics & dialogues written by Kabilan Vairamuthu. Fans will remember that the 'Demonetization Anthem' sung by Simbu and released in 2017 as the 'No Cash' song went on to become a huge hit with a making video of the track with the superstar also being unveiled last year.
