Gulaebaghavali is that movie which you are ideally looking out for a perfect holiday entertainer. Prabhudeva has always given us entertaining movies and this one is easily one of those 'Keep laughing, Keep on laughing' entertainer. Heist film is not a new concept to Tamil Cinema. From MGR's Alibabavum 40 Thirudargalum to Rajinikanth's Johnny to Kamal's Guru to the recent Maragatha Nanayam, we have seen umpty number heist movies. Yet Gulaebaghavali comes fresh and new with rib tickling laughter moments through out the script.
Prabhudeva last made us go in awe with his performance in Devi with Tamannaah and he does it again in Gulaebaghavali. Should we say that the legend has some spectacular dance moments that you can watch again and again? Gulaebaghavali is another dance treat from the master and the songs have given him a great opportunity to groove with style.
If you enjoyed watching Revathy in Arangetra Velai along with Prabhu in a role that gave her scope to emote comedy and sentiment parallely, you will enjoy her role in Gulaebaghavali even more. The one line she rendered in the trailer 'Sethu pona en paiyan saravanan mathiriye iruka' will lead you to a non stop laughter when you watch the movie. This is a cake walk for the actor who has donned many characters and she is a big plus to the movie.
Yogi Babu has got one more movie that will pump his career to another step and he will keep you in splits with his one liners and expressions. He has been utilized perfectly and we have a bunch of comedians who have done their role to perfection. Mottai Rajendran, Anandraj, Mansoor Ali khan, Sathyan and Ramdoss have distinct scenes and they keep taking charge of the humour portion at different levels of the movie.
Hansika plays a role that she has never done before and she has given her best effort. Though it is not a regular glammar role, it is also not a big chunk of performance oriented role. However, that does not come as a drawback because of the screenplay that keeps throwing some reason to laugh. There are many actors in the cast but each actor has a distinct characterization and they have an equal share of role to play which is something the director needs to be appreciated for.
