Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi was initially supposed to make his debut in Hindi cinema with the Aamir Khan starrer, Laal Singh Chaddha. He was signed for an important role in the film. However, due to the Covid-19 situation and reshuffling of various other projects, Vijay Sethupathi had to opt out of Laal Singh Chaddha. The news came as a disappointment for the fans who were eager to catch Vijay Sethupathi and Aamir Khan together in one frame. The official confirmation regarding his replacement is now out with a brand new picture. Yes! Popular Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya will be playing the role which was initially offered to Vijay Sethupathi.

Naga Chaitanya took to his official Twitter page to share a new picture from the sets of Laal Singh Chaddha and it is a selfie picture of him, along with Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and director Advait Chandan. In the picture, we see Aamir Khan and Naga Chaitanya dressed up in the army uniform and the picture has already grabbed the attention of the fans. Naga Chaitanya's character in the film is called Bala. It is going to be a visual treat for the fans to see these two talented actors together. Laal Singh Chaddha is the remake of the classic Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, which was an adaptation of Winston Groom's novel of the same name.

Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame and has music composed by Pritam. Kareena Kapoor plays the female lead, while Mona Singh will be seen in a supporting role. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions in association with Viacom 18 Studios, the film has cinematography by Setu and editing by Manik Dawar. As per the current plan, Laal Singh Chaddha is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24 for the Christmas weekend, but we will have to wait for a few more months to get better clarity about the release.
