American actor and comedian Jim Belushi has filed for divorce from his wife, Jennifer Sloan, after 23 years of marriage. Known among fans mostly for his work on Saturday Night Live and According to Jim, Belushi, 67, reportedly filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Friday. Sloan's name has been listed in the filings in the court as Jennifer Blair Belushi and had previously worked as a casting assistant and assistant voice director in Hollywood. Belushi and Sloan got hitched in May 1998 and have two children - Jamison Bess Belushi, 22, and Jared James Belushi, 19.

According to reports, Jim Belushi and Jennifer Sloan previously filed for a divorce in 2018, but later reconciled and decided to work on their marriage once again. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year, Belushi spoke about the troubles in their marriage pointing out how each of them are distantly placed due to their work. He said that Sloan ran a children's boutique in Los Angeles and is where she spends most of her time, while he has a marijuana farm in Eagle Point, Oregon. "I can’t go there," Belushi stated at the time in response to a query about their relationship, while adding, "As of this moment, we’re still together."

Jim Belushi made headlines last year when he announced his decision of starting his farm and leaving Hollywood, which he stated was inspired in part since he still mourned his late brother, John Belushi. The events were spoken about in detail in the 2020 Discovery docuseries, Growing Belushi. Speaking about his time in Los Angeles and Hollywood, Belushi said, "I’ve done it. I raised my kids there, and went to all the premieres. I went to award shows. I’ve been to Toscana 1,600 times. I have a grateful feeling for the life I had there – I’m just moving on to kind of a new reinvention." Belushi's first marriage was with Sandy Davenport from 1980 to 1988 and the former couple share a son named Robert Belushi aged 40. His second marriage was to actress Marjorie Bransfield from 1990 to 1992.
