'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 170 under Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel's direction has begun rolling and the first pictures from the pooja ceremony held in Trivandrum, Kerala, on Wednesday, October 4, have now been shared on social media by the film's team. The upcoming film's pooja ceremony witnessed the leading Tamil actor flag off the proceedings, who is then seen posing for the camera along with the film's team. In the first picture, we see the Thalaivar 170 clapboard, while the second photo shows Rajinikanth lighting the lamp, who then poses along with his team in the third image. 

Along with the Thalaivar 170 pooja ceremony pictures, the team has also revealed the core technical crew that has several names from T. J. Gnanavel's Jai Bhim being retained among whom include cinematographer SR Kathir, editor Philomin Raj, art director Kadhir, and stunt choreographer duo Anbariv. The photos from the Thalaivar 170 pooja ceremony also show Rajinikanth being joined by director T. J. Gnanavel, Asuran and Thunivu actress Manju Warrier, who is cast as the female lead, with Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal star VJ Rakshan and Sarpatta Parambarai fame GM Sundar also now revealed to be a part of the cast. 

The hype surrounding Thalaivar 170 has shot up, especially after several big names were revealed to be joining Rajinikanth in the film, starting with iconic Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been announced to be appearing in a key role. The 'Shahenshah' of Indian cinema and the 'Superstar' of Tamil cinema are reuniting after a gap of 32 years when they were seen last in the blockbuster, Hum (1991). Likewise, Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 170 also features National Award-winning Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, who impressed Tamil audiences after his stellar performances in Vikram and Maamannan, with Baahubali villain Rana Daggubati, Irudhi Suttru and Oh My Kadavule star Ritika Singh, and Natchathiram Nagargiradhu heroine Dushara Vijayan cast in pivotal roles. Apart from the stellar cast in Thalaivar 170, 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is composing the songs and the background score for the Rajinikanth-starrer and is the fourth time he has boarded the actor's film after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and the recent blockbuster, Jailer
