RRR star Jr. NTR issued a statement addressing the sudden demise of his fan Shyam on Monday, June 26. According to reports, the youngster died by suicide, with the news of his death soon after taking a political turn. Shyam's family has since alleged foul play and are demanding a probe into the matter, with the hashtag #WeWantJusticeForShyamNTR taking social media by storm. Telugu media has reported that Shyam, a college student from the East Godavari district, died at Chintaluru village, but his friends and well-wishers have appealed for an investigation into his death under under mysterious circumstances. Shyam, an ardent fan of Jr. NTR, was known to the Telugu superstar as well, who also issued a statement expressing his condolences while requesting the government to initiate an investigation into his sudden demise. In a note penned in Telugu, the Devara actor said, "Shyam's death is extremely painful to learn of. My deepest condolences to Shyam's family. Not knowing the circumstances under which he died must be nerve-wracking for all. I request the government officials to investigate the matter immediately."

Several big political bigwigs have also demanded an inquiry into Shyam's death, including former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who took to Twitter to express his sorrow. He tweeted, "Deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely demise of Shyam in Chintaluru, EG District. The suspicious circumstances surrounding his death are alarming. I strongly urge for a thorough investigation into this matter, ensuring justice is served. It has been alleged that YSRCP members are involved. Their involvement must be probed impartially. Shyam shot into the limelight when he ran onto the stage of Das Ka Dhamki's pre-release event to meet Jr. NTR despite tight security and grabbed the actor by his waist. When the security tried to gain hold of him, the RRR actor obliged and took a photo with Shyam after which he was escorted off the stage.
