It's official - leading Tamil actor Vishal's next big film, Rathnam, will open in cinemas worldwide on April 26 in Tamil and Telugu languages. The much-awaited film directed by blockbuster Tamil director Hari is billed to be an out-and-out action entertainer and will feature songs and a background score by National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad. Rathnam's release date has come along with new posters showing Vishal in dance mode hinting that the first single track will be coming out soon in the days ahead.
There is plenty of excitement surrounding Rathnam as the film marks the third-time collaboration between Vishal and Hari after their previous blockbusters Thamirabharani (2007) and Poojai (2014), and the duo will once again be looking to hit the bullseye. Sharing the film's release date announcement on X, Vishal wrote, "Save the date for our biggie this summer ???? #Rathnam hits the screens on the 26th of April 2024. In Tamil and Telugu. A film by #Hari. Coming to theatres, summer 2024. A @ThisisDSP musical." (sic) Rathnam has three reputed stunt choreographers - Kanal Kannan, Dhilip Subbarayan, and Peter Hein - once again suggesting that there's going to be an explosive action feast for the audience on the big screen.

Rathnam will see Vishal paired with Priya Bhavani Shankar, who has boarded a Hari film for the second time after Yaanai (2022), while Gautham Menon, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, among others will be seen in pivotal roles. Vishal, who wrapped up filming his portions in Rathnam earlier this week, will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders with the upcoming film, especially after the massive success of his Mark Antony last year, which went on to become his first 100-crore venture at the box office.
