Ram Gopal Varma is kown as one of the most controversial director in the Indian film industry and the director kicked up his reputation a notch with the announcment of his venture Lakshmi's NTR. Lakshmi's NTR is the biographical film based on the life of former film actor and chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao from the perspective of his second wife, Lakshmi Parvati. The movie is produced by YSR Congress Party member Rakesh Reddy.
The movie had its big release in Telangana on March 29th and the movie was all set to release in Andhra Pradesh on May 1. Ahead of the release in AP, the director announced that he will be visiting Vijayawada for the film’s promotion.

But as a turn of events, RGV was stopped at the Vijayawada airport by Andhra Pradesh police officers and he was denied an entry into the state. In a series of tweets, RGV questioned the abuse of power by Andhra Pradesh government and CM Chandrababu Naidu.
