P.Rama Reddy is no more
Father of new wave cinema director in Kannada ,Shri. Pattabiram Reddy is no more. He breathed his last this morning. He was 85. He was the maker of the famous movie Samskara in 1970 after which many filmmakers came forward to make movies with different ideas and thoughts. Samaskara marked the beginning of a new era for Kannada film industtry. Samskara won the President`s Gold Medal. G.V.Iyer took this movie as an inspiration ad made Vamsha Vriksha in 1972.
Reddy was born in Nellur village,Andhra Pradesh in the year 1919. He did English research study from Kolkata University and took up Mathematics from the Columbia University. He has also directed man plays in Madras Players Amateur Theatres association. With his death the Golden Era of Kannada Film industry has come to an end.
