Vikram K Kumar is one of the well-known filmmakers who has created a niche for himself in both Tamil and Telugu film industries. In 1998, he directed his breakthrough non-feature film, Silent Scream, for which he won the National Film Award For Best Instructional Film. He made his directorial debut in Telugu cinema with Ishtam, and then directed Alai with Simbu and Trisha in the lead which bombed at the box office. His big break in films came through the Hindi-Tamil bilingual horror film 13B which featured Madhavan in the lead. After that his journey has been mostly in Telugu cinema apart from his sole Tamil film 24 with Suriya. Even his last film Gang Leader performed well at the box office.  
 
During an exclusive interview with Galatta, Vikram K Kumar revealed some details about his next film with Naga Chaitanya, it was earlier speculated that the film will have horror element but Vikram not only denied that but also gave us a few insight on how the film would turn out: “No it is not a horror film, I am doing a film with Naga Chaitanaya and we should go on the floors once all this end (corona lockdown), the scripting is almost done and the pre-production works are happening right now. But it’s not a horror film, that’s for sure. It will be self-discovery kind of a film, it has a character driven narrative, it’s about a person who explores his inner side but it will be very entertaining, fun, there is romance in it, there is action, all mainstream elements are there.”

Director Vikram K Kumar who is known for his works in films like Yaavarum Nalam, Manam, 24, made his debut with the Simbu - Trisha starrer Alai. The film got mixed to negative reviews and it didn't give a bang-on start for Vikram. However, in the next six years, he bounced back strongly with the supernatural thriller, Yaavarum Nalam, that was widely appreciated and managed to turn out successful at the box office as well. In a recent live interaction with Galatta Media, Vikram recollected the memories of how he had to deal with the failure of Alai and bounce back with his next film.

He said, “Honestly, Alai was a bad film. There was no other way to talk about the movie. I was out of work due to that film. No producer or actor wanted to work with me during that time. It was a difficult time, but I did write and constantly approach people for projects.

Yaavarum Nalam was a script that I wrote during that time and Maddy was there for me. He was a close friend and he agreed to act in the film after listening to the story and then the film materialized. But the six years between Alai and Yaavarum Nalam taught me a lot of things.” Currently, Vikram K Kumar is busy with the pre-production works of his next film, that will star Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. This untitled new project is said to be produced by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Vikram K Kumar is also in talks with Suriya for a possible project in Tamil. Looks like exciting days are ahead for the 24 director! Check out his FB live interaction video below:

'Simtaangaran' was the first single from the movie which was released last week and reached 14 million views in 5 days.Today, second single from the movie 'Oruviral Puratchi' has been released and the song is viral among the audience.

This song was sung by A.R.Rahman and Srinidhi Venkatesh. Director Vikram K Kumar who directed Yaavarum Nalam and Suriya's 24 posted a tweet about this as his wife Srinidhi Venkatesh join hands together with A.R.Rahman

The Audio Launch of this film is happening on 2nd October which we repoerted earlier. Sarkar is set to release this Diwali and hope the album and the movie never fail to entertain us!
