Sports genre films seem to be the trend in Kollywood right now. This year in particular, we have had too many sports drama films in Tamil with Vijay’s Bigil being the biggest of them. Jada is an upcoming Indian sports drama film written and directed by Kumaran who is making his directorial debut. Jada stars Kathir as the lead hero who plays a football player in the film. He had a similar role to play in Bigil. But Bigil talked about the National football league whereas Jada is about a local football championship played with just six players a team. Kathir was roped in as the male lead role after his breakthrough performance in the film Pariyerum Perumal.
Jada has a newcomer Roshini as the female lead. The first look poster of the film was unveiled on 16 January 2019 by actor Dhanush through his Twitter account. Jada is locked and ready for release on the 6th of December. Apart from Kathir and Roshini, Jada also features the likes of Prakash, Sreedhar A.P, Yogi Babu, Kishore, Gowtham Selvaraj, Swathishta, Arun Alexander, Lijesh, Arun Prasad, Aruvi Bala, Nishanth, Shanmugam, Raj, and Kulothungan. It has music by Sam CS. Yogi Babu happens to be the biggest USP for the film.

Dear Comrade Movie Review | Vijay Deverakonda | Rashmika Mandanna
By Galatta | 01:00 PM
A pleasant journey that could have been short!
A frustrated, desperate, angry and drunk young man is trying to reach his lover Lilly but is unable to do so. His friends try their best to control him but are unable to do so. Here begins the flashback journey of the young man - Chaitanya (Vijay Deverakonda), who is fondly called as Bobby by his friends and family! A leader of the Students Union, Bobby takes it upon himself to address all issues surrounding him, be it academic or social. He meets his neighbour's sister Aparna Devi (Rashmika Mandanna), who is called Lilly! After an initial courtship period, Bobby and Lilly fall in love but Bobby's attitude of resorting to violence for all issues, causes a rift between them. In an incident, the two part ways and when they meet after a gap of three years, many things have changed. Lilly has given up her passion - playing cricket and Bobby is now more mature and deals with issues calmly. However, an incident that happened within these three years, turns their lives upside down. What is it? What has happened to Lilly and Bobby? What will happen next? Watch Dear Comrade in the theatres for the answers...
It is not new for us to see Vijay Deverakonda as a college student or as an angry young man. The pairing with Rashmika Mandanna too is something that we have seen in Geetha Govindam. Well, if you ask us what else is new in this movie, we can think hard and say, maybe the premise but not much else. The first half slowly, actually very slowly, sets us up for what seems to be a huge clash between Bobby and a local MLA but the director seems to have forgotten about that somewhere along the way. To sum up the first half in 1 line, we can say - Bobby is an angry young man who fights, falls in love and fights some more! (Sounds familiar?) The second half moves at a better pace and though highly predictable, the intricate emotions involved and Rashmika's performance in particular, are very good. Rashmika's efforts to learn cricket, reflect on the screen where she portrays a bold and confident batsman. Shruti Ramachandran is good in her role as Jaya, Lilly's elder sister!
The bonding between two neighbourly families, the camaraderie between students, the lovely bond of friendship have all been wonderfully showcased in this movie. However, too much time has been taken to establish all of these and this results in a lengthy movie which finds it difficult to retain the audiences' attention. Bobby's character is right up Vijay Deverakonda's alley and he has just breezed through the part. Director Bharat Kamma seems to have taken extra effort to make almost every scene and every frame exude Vijay's mass and though it works for the most part, it sort of becomes a little too much at times. Rashmika is lively & aces the minute expressions and has given a very commendable performance.
The Tamil dialogues seem to be a big letdown and are rather flat with nothing special to invoke the viewers' interest. The director has chosen all the right ingredients - emotions, social message, perfect cast, good story but has not got the configuration right and misses the mark in the execution. Just Prabhakaran's music is one of the biggest highlights of this movie. The 'Pularaadha' song is highly soulful and the 'Gira Gira' number is very good too! The BGM stands out in a number of places and helps the movie big time. Sujith Sarang's cinematography is good and the visuals are very pleasing to the eye. The editor Sreejith Sarang should have been given the freedom to work more on his chops and reduce a good bit of the runtime.

SK - Vijay Deverakonda Controversy: 'What they have is just worthless paper'
By Lokesh RV | Galatta | 01:31 PM
There have been many famous clashes in the world of cinema and most common amongst those are the clashes over stories being copied and similar titles. Earlier today, it was announced that Sivakarthikeyan's film with Irumbuthirai director PS Mithran had been titled Hero. This announcement was given out by the movie's producer KJR Studios. Almost immediately there came another announcement that Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming multilingual movie with Kuttrame Thandanai director Anand Annamalai, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, had also been titled Hero.
Once it became apparent that both these movies were going for the same title, the Vijay Deverakonda movie team released photos of receipts from the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council for getting the title Hero renewed. This receipt was under the name of Tribal Arts M. Manikandan and showed that they had extended the rights till 14-06-2019!
Very shortly, SK 15 producer KJR Studios released photos of a letter, on the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council letterhead, stating that the rights for the title Hero were being held by KJR Studios!
Following this virtual war, we got in touch with Kotapadi J Rajesh, of KJR Studios, to obtain some clarity. He very strongly stated that they were the ones holding the title rights and also added, "They (Vijay Deverakonda's movie team) do not have the rights. What they have is just a worthless piece of paper. We have authentic proof to show that the title is ours!" However, we are unable to reach the opposite team to obtain their views on this controversy. Stay tuned for further updates!

Kollywood insiders were quite confused as to which film will hold the title of Hero. After the announcement of Sivakarthikeyan's film, the makers of Vijay Deverakonda starrer have come out with legal proofs to show that the title, Hero belongs to them.
According to the officially released pictures from the team of Vijay Deverakonda's Hero, they have registered the title, Hero with the Tamil Film Producers Council on June 14, 2018. The title has been registered under director Manikandan's home banner, Tribal Arts Production with a fee of Rs 2360. The payment receipt has also been officially released to prove their side.
The shooting of this rowdy star's film is all set to start from April 22 in Delhi, and it will feature him as a bike racer. The film is said to be made in all four south Indian languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, this Anand Annamalai directorial will have Petta fame Malavika Mohanan playing the female lead.
As per the receipt and the hard copy of the registration, Hero belongs to Vijay Deverakonda's team until June 2019. KJR Studios came up with a new post on social media that had the digital copy of TFPC's approval to use Hero for their film with Sivakarthikeyan. TFPC's approval letter states, "This is to certify that M/s. KJR Studios (Memb. No 4183) having their office at Flat No 5, 4th Street, Rapid Skyune, No 8/14, Sri Krishnapuram, Royapettah, Chennai-14, Mr Kotapadi J Rajesh is the proprietor of above said firm and is one of the producer member of our council as shown in the records. They have registered a Tamil film title, Hero in our council. This letter issued for title confirmation purpose."
With both the parites proving their side with legal documents, who will get the title of Hero in the end? Will it be Sivakarthikeyan or Vijay Deverakonda? Let's wait and watch.
