The Telugu remake of critically acclaimed Tamil film Jigarthanda is titled Gaddalakonda Ganesh and the remake directed by Harish Shankar stared Varun Tej, Atharvaa and Mirnalini Ravi in the lead roles. Varun Tej reprised Bobby Simha’s role as Atharvaa played Siddharth’s role as a young filmmaker in the film marking his Telugu debut. Mirnalini Ravi reprised Lakshmi Menon's role. Valmiki is bankrolled by Ram and Gopi Achanta under their banner 14 Reels Entertainment and music is scored by Mickey J Meyer. Gaddalakonda Ganesh hit the screens on a few months back and the movie opened to some decent reviews and was a hit at the Telugu box-office. Months after the release, a new sneak peek video has been released online. The new video is an intriguing sequence that builds up to the intermission in the film. Check out the new video below,

One among the many Tamil blockbusters that were announced for a remake was the 2014 smash hit, Jigarthanda, which has been titled Valmiki in Telugu and is gearing up for a worldwide release on September 20. Director Harish Shankar helmed Valmiki with Varun Tej reprising Bobby Simha’s role while Tamil actor Atharvaa is all set for his acting debut in Telugu and will be seen portraying Siddharth’s character in Jigarthanda. The film also includes Super Deluxe fame Mirnalini Ravi as the female lead in Lakshmi Menon’s role while actress Pooja Hegde is making a guest appearance with music being scored by Devi Sri Prasad followed by Ayananka Bose handling the cinematography and Ram and Gopi Achanta producing it under their banner 14 Reels Entertainment banner. With only a few days more left for its theatrical release, the Valmiki trailer has now been released.
Jigarthanda went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters in 2014 with director Karthik Subbaraj tasting major box office success with Bobby Simha securing the Best Supporting Actor National Award and Vivek Harshan winning the Best Editing National Award. Many expect Valmiki too to succeed as the Tamil original with Varun Tej’s role said to be the major highlight in the film.

Valmiki is easily one of the highly anticipated movies for the Telugu cinema audience, as it is the remake of the 2014 blockbuster gangster drama movie, Jigarthanda, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. With Harish Shankar helming Valmiki, it has Varun Tej reprising Bobby Simha’s role and Atharvaa Murali reprising Siddharth’s role. Mirnalini Ravi, who made her Kolywood debut with Super Deluxe this year, will be making her Tollywood debut as well with Valmiki. She along with Pooja Hegde will be seen in pivotal roles. The camera for Valmiki is cranked by Bollywood cinematographer, Ayananka Bose and the music is composed by Mickey J Meyer. Bankrolled by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the banner of 14 Reels Plus, this gangster movie will be hitting the silver screen on the 13th of September.
Interestingly, Valmiki marks Atharvaa Murali's Tollywood debut and is his third release this year, followed by Boomerang and 100. As for Varun Tej, Valmiki is his 2nd release this year after F2- Fun and Frustration.
Injured Varun Tej continues shooting for Mister!

Promising actor Varun Tej has proved once again he is unstoppable and for him work and commitment comes before anything. The actor who was shooting at Ooty for his upcoming film Mister got injured while shooting a stunt scene.
Varun was immediately rushed to the hospital and doctors advised him to take couple of days rest. But he convinced the unit that he is doing fine and doesn’t want to delay the shooting.
Ace director Sreenu Vaitla is wielding the megaphone. Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel are cast opposite Varun Tej in this film.Mickey J Meyer is composing music for Mister and Nallamalupu Bujji and Tagore Madhu are producing romantic entertainer.
Varun Tej starts shooting for Loafer

Varun Tej’s much talked about project with talented director Puri Jagannadh has begun. The film went on floors today. The film is tentatively titled as Loafer. Bollywood actress Disha Patlani is cast opposite Varun.
Puri who is known for completing films in a jiffy, is planning to finish this one too by the end of August and plan the release in September. C Kalyan who produced Puri’s last film Jyothi Lakshmi will be producing this project too. Keep watching this space for more updates on this project.
