'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu continues to dominate the box office after its release and has crossed 250 crores in worldwide box office collections. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally under Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the family entertainer has been released across Tamil Nadu by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio and is still seeing a strong audience turnout in theatres three weeks after its release. Among the various big USPs of Varisu is also veteran actress Jayasudha, who played the role of Vijay, Srikanth Meka, and Shaam's mother, and has now in an exclusive interview with Galatta opened up about her experience working alongside some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema in the film. 

During the interview, Jayasudha also went on to reveal that she was initially cast as Ajith Kumar's mother in the 2022 blockbuster, Valimai. She said, "I did Valimai. I shot only for a day. After that, the pandemic struck and they didn't shoot for a year. During such a time, I was a little afraid to shoot. So, they then had to re-shoot (those portions)." The role of Ajith's mother in Valimai was eventually portrayed by veteran actress Sumithra and was one of the big plot points of the film, which was directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. 

In Varisu, the mother-son relationship between Jayasudha and Vijay was one of the strong points and won the hearts of family audiences everywhere. She was paired with R. Sarathkumar, while Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Nandini Rai, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, VTV Ganesan, Bharath Reddy, Sanjana among others appeared in pivotal roles. It is to be noted that Khushbu Sundar and John Vijay too were a part of the film's cast and there are plans to release their scenes as deleted features in the days ahead.

Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Double XL. A photo of the cricketer from the movie was shared online on Tuesday (October 11) and has since then gone viral across various social media platforms. He is seen with actress Huma Qureshi in the picture who is sporting a beautiful red gown. Sonakshi Sinha will also be seen in this flick. 

During an interview, Dhawan said, "One of my favorite pastimes is to watch good entertaining films. When this opportunity came to me and I heard the story, it made a deep impact on me. This is a lovely message for the whole society and I hope a lot of young girls and boys will keep pursuing their dreams no matter what."

Satram Ramani, who is famously known for his 2021 film Helmet, has helmed Double XL. The film has been given the green light for a direct OTT release and will therefore be made available to watch on Netflix from November 4 onwards. The film's release will be challenged as it will be locking horns with two big Bollywood movies - the Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter starter Phone Bhoot and Aasmaan Bhardwaj's multi starer drama Kuttey - which are all heading for theatrical premieres on the same day.

Double XL is touted to be a slice-of-life comedy-drama, that will trace the journey of two plus-sized women, Rajshree Trivedi (Qureshi) from Meeruti and Saira Khanna (Sinha) from New Delhi, who trying to break stereotypes as they navigate society's beauty standards. The film also stars Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra in supporting roles. 

Ajith Kumar's Valimai which released earlier this year on a grand note opened to mixed reviews from the critics and general audience. However, the mixed reviews did not affect the film's box office performance. The Ajith starrer collected more than 250 crores at the worldwide box office and producer Boney Kapoor himself confirmed it through one of his tweets. Valimai had Ajith Kumar playing the role of Arjun, a police officer who is after Satan's Slaves, a techie gang responsible for committing various crimes in the city. The film was loaded with high octane action sequences that kept the audiences on the edge of their seats and the action episodes were effectively executed.

Valimai was directed by H Vinoth who addressed an important social issue concerning the youths. With this being said, Valimai is now all set for its world television premiere. Yes! Valimai will be aired for the first time on the Zee Tamil channel and the world television premiere will happen on May 1, on Labours Day. Interestingly, it also happens to be Ajith Kumar's birthday and the fans couldn't have asked for a better treat. The official announcement on the television telecast was made by Zee Tamil, earlier today (April 18) through a tweet that has gone viral among the fans. Details regarding the time of the telecast are yet to be known.

Those who missed catching the film in the theatres will now get to watch it in the comfort of their homes and we can expect the Valimai TV premiere to register solid TRP numbers. Meanwhile, Ajith is currently busy shooting for his next biggie, AK 61 which marks the return of the Valimai combo. AK 61 is directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The shooting of this flick is currently happening in Hyderabad. The main cast and crew of AK 61 are yet to be officially announced.

Ajith Kumar's Valimai is creating records left and right after it began streaming on the ZEE5 OTT platform and is now officially the "most-watched and re-watched film" on OTT. Boney Kapoor, who produced the mass action thriller under his Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, further revealed that the film continues to break all records everywhere and has recorded more than 500 million minutes of streaming. Valimai premiered in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada languages on the ZEE5 streaming channel on March 25 after it was released in theatres on February 24 and went on to collect more than 200 crores in box office collections. 

Valimai has received a sensational response in both cinemas and on OTT and has once again shown why Ajith is such a dominant box office force. Post the theatrical release of the film, the makers had also released scenes exclusively on OTT after they were taken out from the final theatrical cut, which have no doubt come as a bonus treat for Ajith's ardent fans. Despite the mixed reviews, Valimai hit the bullseye and is now the second consecutive success for the superstar with director H. Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor, and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja after their 2019 hit Nerkonda Paarvai. Below is Boney Kapoor's announcement:

Post the success of Valimai, Ajith will next be roaring to begin work on his upcoming ventures, the tentatively titled AK 61 and AK 62. Among them, AK 61 will be the third time he will be teaming up with H. Vinoth and Boney Kapoor, while AK 62 is his first-time collaborating with Naanum Rowdydhaan and the upcoming Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal director Vignesh Shivan and will be produced under the reputed Lyca Productions banner. As of now, plans are on to kick off the shooting of AK 61 in the days ahead after which Ajith will do AK 62, which is scheduled for a mid-2023 release. 

Popular Malayalam actor Dhruvan recently entered wedlock with his lady-love, Anjali and the wedding ceremony took place at Palakkad. The wedding happened on a low-key note in the presence of the families and friends of the couple. The pictures and videos from the wedding event have surfaced on social media and have garnered attention among the fans. Dhruvan also took to his official Instagram page to share pictures from the wedding event. In the H Vinoth directorial, Dhruvan played the character of 'Amith', as Kartikeya's close confidante and appeared in scenes involving the antagonist. Valimai opened to mixed reviews from the critics and general audience, but the film turned out to be a success at the box office and is currently streaming on the Zee 5 OTT platform. Talking about Dhruvan's upcoming lineup of films, he has three movies in his kitty - Nancy Rani, Khajuraho Dreams, and Prithviraj's Jana Gana Mana, and all these three films are in different stages of production. Ajith Kumar's Valimai has created a new record as the film directed by H. Vinoth and produced under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner has now crossed 100 million streaming minutes on the ZEE5 OTT platform. The mass action thriller premiered in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada languages on the ZEE5 streaming channel on Friday (March 25) after it was released in theatres on February 24. Producer Boney Kapoor, who has labeled Valimai to be a complete treat for Ajith's fans, officially revealed earlier this week that the film has collected more than 200 crores in box office collections. The response for Valimai, both in cinemas and on OTT, has once again proven Ajith's dominance and the success of the film is a testimony. A joint collaboration between Bayview Projects LLP and ZEE Studios, the makers have also released exclusive deleted scenes from the film on OTT, which have now come as an additional treat for fans. Valimai has hit the bullseye despite mixed reactions and is the second consecutive success for Ajith with director H. Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor, and celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja after the trio's 2019 blockbuster Nerkonda Paarvai. 

With Valimai turning out to be a sensational box office success, the sights have now shifted to Ajith's upcoming ventures, the tentatively titled AK 61 and AK 62. Among them, AK 61 will be the third-time collaboration for the superstar with H. Vinoth and Boney Kapoor, while AK 62 has him collaborating with blockbuster production banner Lyca Productions under Naanum Rowdydhaan and the upcoming Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal director Vignesh Shivan. Ajith is expected to wrap up filming for AK 61 towards the end of the year after which he will begin kick-off the shooting for AK 62, which has been announced for a release by mid-2023. 

Following a highly successful run in the theatres, Ajith Kumar's Valimai is all set for its digital release. The much-awaited announcement on the OTT release plans of Valimai has been made and here is what you need to know. Valimai will be available to stream on the Zee 5 streaming platform from March 25, coming Friday. Valimai was released in theatres amidst huge expectations on February 24 and after a one-month window, the film is now set for its digital release. Zee Studios was one of the presenters of Valimai along with Boney Kapoor and it goes without saying that the film will stream on Zee 5.

On March 25, the fans will have legal access to the original HD versions of Valimai and the ones who have missed the film in the theatres will also get their chance to witness it from the comfort of their homes. Despite fetching mixed reviews from the critics and general audience, Valimai performed exceptionally well at the theatres. The high octane stunt sequences were the major highlights of Valimai which is directed by H Vinoth. Valimai features Ajith Kumar in the role of a cop who needs to find a techie gang named Satans Slaves, responsible for committing various crimes in the city.

Produced by Boney Kapoor, Valimai has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with additional background score support from Ghibran. Films like Pushpa and Shyam Singha Roy have got better reception following their digital release and can we expect the same to happen for Valimai, as well?. Following Valimai, the trio of Ajith Kumar, director H Vinoth, and producer Boney Kapoor will be joining hands once again for AK 61 which is expected to go on floors very soon. Unconditional love always!! Ajith Kumar". The same statement is applicable for the current situation and Suresh Chandra's tweet implies that to be the reaction of Ajith Kumar, as well. "Give love to people who spread hate" is what Ajith says, in this context regarding Valimai and this comes as a dignified and classy reply from the star actor.

We are sure that the fans will also abide by what their favourite star firmly believes in. Valimai, Ajith's latest release has completed three weeks of run at the box office and has managed to earn good numbers at the box office. Valimai is directed by H Vinoth and has Ajith playing the role of a cop. Up next, Ajith will be joining hands with director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor for the third time with AK 61 which is expected to go on floors this month. Actor Ajith Kumar's Valimai released last month has turned out to be a massive box office success, with theatres screening the film running to packed houses. The action thriller directed by H. Vinoth under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios continues to be the talk of the town for its various technical aspects, including the technology that was utilized for a majority of the action sequences. In that light, a video featuring Ajith operating a drone at the Valimai shooting spot has gone viral on social media and shows the superstar at ease maneuvering the machine to heights, while also discussing with the film's action choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan. The video has been shot at night time during the shooting of an important stunt sequence that is featured at a crucial point in the film. We see the large crew preparing for a particular shot, while several members around Ajith join him in looking at the drone’s flight. 

Prior to Valimai's release, the makers had released a glimpse that featured shooting spot visuals, including one where Ajith falls off his superbike during an action sequence. Fans will be looking forward to witnessing more such never before seen content considering the film has been made on a grand scale and scope. Valimai had been in production for a long time due to the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns, with fans having to wait for a long time for updates from the film. 

Valimai, which also stars Telugu actor Kartikeya Gummakonda as the villain and Kaala heroine Huma S. Qureshi playing the female lead, is incidentally the second collaboration for Ajith with H. Leading Tamil actor Ajith Kumar's Valimai released last month and took a stunning opening in theatres everywhere. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, the action thriller has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the background score has been done by Ghibran. With Valimai currently going strong in theatres, the makers on Thursday released the much-awaited 'Naanga Vera Maari' video song, which is Ajith's introduction track in the film. Sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Anurag Kulkarni to the lyrics penned by Vignesh Shivan, this is the first time fans are watching the song after the Valimai's release in theatres.
