Actor Vijay’s upcoming film, Thalapathy 64, under Kaithi director Lokesh Kanagaraj began rolling last month with the team now in Delhi for the second schedule. The film marks Vijay’s first-time association with Lokesh Kanagaraj after the young filmmaker made heads turn in the Tamil film industry in his debut venture, Maanagaram. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music for the film, which has a huge supporting cast among whom are are 96 actress Gouri G. Kishan, VJ Ramya Subramanian, Sriman, TV actor Chetan, director Azhagam Perumal, Malayalam star Lintu Rony, Meyaadha Maan fame Mathew Varghese, Vijay’s real life friends, Sanjeev and Srinath among others. Now, it has been revealed that actor Prem Kumar, who appeared as Vijay’s brother in last year's blockbuster, Sarkar, has joined the Thalapathy 64 shoot at Delhi and has posted a selfie with Lokesh Kanagaraj on his Twitter page. Likewise, a name that has been discussed quite a lot over the past few days, Brigida Saga as Pavi teacher from the hit Tamil web series, Aaha Kalyanam, is also now part of the Thalapathy 64 shoot as was being speculated for a while now. A film that is turning out to be one of the biggest in terms of scale and casting, Vijay's Thalapathy 64 is being directed by Kaithi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj. A production venture of Vijay’s close relative, Xavier Britto’s XB Films Creators’ Thalapathy 64 will see composer Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music in light of the summer 2020 worldwide theatrical release plan. With the second schedule on the film being carried out in Delhi over the past few days, popular VJ turned actress Ramya Subaramanian has now joined the Vijay 64 cast in an important supporting role. Ramya Subramanian has been revealed to be working on Thalapathy 64 for nearly 20 days now and will also be shooting in Chennai once the ongoing schedule is completed. The star has also stated that she considers herself as being lucky as she has hosted audio launches of Vijay’s films in the past with the most recent one being, Bigil, which took place last month. Thalapathy 64 already includes a massive leading star cast apart from Vijay among whom are names like ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi, Petta actress Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Antony Varghese of Angamaly Diaries and Jallikattu fame.

The decision of Vijay to collaborate with a next-gen promising filmmaker like Lokesh took the Kollywood audience by pleasant surprise. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, who is a part of this film, is said to play the role of an antagonist. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is the talk of the town now as his Kaithi, starring Karthi has taken a solid opening everywhere and has come out as a Diwali treat for fans alongside ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s biggie, Bigil. The up-and-coming filmmaker, who was recently announced to be the director of Vijay’s next, Thalapathy 64, has hit the bullseye with Kaithi as well after his directorial debut, Maanagaram, in 2017, which went on to become a critical and commercial success. With Kaithi taking a strong start at the box office, Lokesh Kanagaraj has announced on Twitter that a sequel to the film is indeed on track while adding the Dilli character played by Karthi will be back. He then extended his gratitude to fans for their response to Kaithi while also thanking producer S. R. Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures in making the film a reality. Karthi too has now confirmed during the Kaithi success meet earlier today that Lokesh Kanagaraj has asked him for a call sheet of 30 days to film Kaithi 2 as he has already finished writing the story.
Jointly produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekananda Pictures banners, Kaithi featuring music by Sam C. S. is being hailed by critics and audiences everywhere for packing an intense action thriller as it includes no songs nor any heroine and has a supporting cast among whom are Narain, Dheena, George Maryan, Ramana, Harish Uthaman, Arjun Dass, Vatsan Chakravarthy, Hareesh Peradi, Mahanadi Shankar and Amzath Khan. The day is finally here as two of the biggest releases of the year, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Bigil and Karthi’s Kaithi have come out in theatres worldwide starting today. Screenings for both films across the world have begun and have taken a stunning opening with fans sharing their opinions on Bigil and Kaithi after their theatrical release. Bigil has been directed by Atlee under the AGS Entertainment banner with chartbuster music by A. R. Rahman and is an action sports drama featuring a multi-star cast that includes names like Nayanthara, Kathir, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Vivek, Yogi Babu, among others while Kaithi is director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s second outing after the smash hit, Maanagaram, and has been produced jointly by Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekananda Pictures with a background score by Sam C. With Vijay’s highly anticipated, Bigil, and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s much-awaited, Kaithi, starring Karthi hitting theatres as a Diwali release on October 25, there is massive excitement surrounding both films considering the director of Thalapathy 64 and the main lead in it are bringing their ventures on the same date. It came as a massive surprise when it was officially revealed that ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi had been cast in the upcoming biggie, Thalapathy 64, alongside Vijay in the lead role under Maanagaram and Kaithi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj’s direction. Announced to come out as a summer 2020 release, Vijay Sethupathi is yet to begin filming for Thalapathy 64. Having said that, the Kalaimamani Award-winning actor has now been announced to be playing a powerful role in the Ashok Selvan and Ritika Singh starrer, Oh My Kadavule.
