Sun Pictures is going full out on making Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 168 as big as possible with its cast featuring actresses Khushbu, Meena, Keerthy Suresh followed by Prakash Raj, comedians Sathish, Soori, Kolamaavu Kokila fame 'Tony' Redin Kingsley among others in major starring roles. Furthermore, Nayanthara being roped in for Thalaivar 168 came as a major surprise to fans with the leading superstar actress speculated to be playing the role of a lawyer.

Recently, Nayanthara was announced to be a part of Thalaivar 168’s star cast and it took everyone by pleasant surprise. This exciting multistarrer features Superstar Rajinikanth, Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Soori and Sathish in the cast. Nayanthara has already worked with director Siva in Viswasam and this film will mark the duo’s second association. The latest update is that Nayanthara will be seen donning the role of a lawyer and it will be the first time, she would be playing a lawyer.

It is said that her character will have a significant importance in the film’s proceedings and it demanded a star like Nayanthara. Produced by Sun Pictures, Thalaivar 168 has music scored by D Imman, while Ruben and Vetri have been assigned to take care of the editing and camera departments respectively. The film already has three leading ladies in the form of Khushbu, Meena and Keerthy Suresh, and additionally, we have Nayanthara as well now.

This has made the audience curious to know what the film is going to be about. Nayanthara recently shared screen space with Rajinikanth in Darbar and the combo will repeat once again with Thalaivar 168 as well. Interestingly, she has also worked with director Siva in Ajith’s Viswasam, in which she got a meaty role.

With music by D Imman and cinematography by Vetri, Thalaivar 168 is tentatively said to release for Pooja holidays. The first schedule of the film was recently wrapped at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and the team will soon begin the second schedule. The first schedule of Thalaivar 168 was successfully wrapped a few weeks back at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and the second schedule is yet to begin. The cast of Thalaivar 168 features Superstar Rajinikanth, Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Sathish, Soori, Livingston, ‘Tony’ Redin Kingsley and others. Produced by Sun Pictures and directed by Siva, this rural family drama has music by D Imman. Going by the latest buzz in K-town, it is highly speculated that actor Siddharth will be seen in a very important role in this film.

The makers are yet to make an official announcement on this and we will have to wait for a few more days to know about the authenticity of the buzz. He is said to be pairing Keerthy Suresh in the film. If the news happens to be true, this will be the first time Siddharth will be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth.

Siddharth is already acting alongside Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in Indian 2, directed by Shankar. Sharing screen space with two of the biggest legends of Tamil cinema should definitely be making Siddharth happy. Recently, we had reported that veteran actor Livingston will be seen in an important role. Following that, it looks like one more actor has been roped into the film to add comic value. Our close sources inform that actor Redin Kingsley of Kolamaavu Kokila and A1 fame will be acting in Thalaivar 168.

Redin Kingsley garnered attention as Tony, through his funny antics and unique dialogue delivery style in Nayanthara’s Kolamaavu Kokila. He was later seen in Jyotika’s Jackpot and Santhanam’s A1 and he delivered a similarly impressive performance in those films as well. Thalaivar 168 is director Siva’s next after Viswasam and he will be looking forward to continuing the success streak with this film as well.

The film has music by D Imman, cinematography by Vetri and editing by Ruben. If things progress as per plan, the film might most probably hit the screens for the Pooja holidays. 

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar is all set to have a grand release tomorrow and Thalaivar fans are totally excited to catch the film on the big screens. With the celebration mode on, Rajinikanth has now come back to Chennai after wrapping up the first schedule of Thalaivar 168 directed by Siva. The shooting of Thalaivar 168 began in the third week of December at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and the team shot some of the important scenes in this schedule with the main cast and crew.

This schedule lasted for around 20 days. Rajinikanth returned to Chennai this morning and he was spotted at the airport wearing a black T-shirt. While addressing the media, the legend wished everyone in advance for the Pongal festival. Sharing the delight on Rajini’s homecoming, his daughter Soundarya Vishagan took to her Twitter space and posted a tweet with a hashtag “#MyDaddyHasReturnedToChennaiToday”. Reports online suggest that Rajinikanth might visit a popular iconic theatre in Chennai tomorrow early morning to witness the reception from the audience and his fans.

However, it is yet to be officially confirmed. Details about the second schedule of Thalaivar 168 is yet to be known and we will get more updates in the coming days. The shooting of Thalaivar 168 is progressing at a brisk pace at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad with the full cast and crew. Starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film has a stellar star cast including big names like Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, and others. This rural emotional family drama is directed by Siva who is on a high after the blockbuster success of his last film, Viswasam, with Thala Ajith. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and this is their third association with Rajinikanth after Enthiran and Petta.

Meanwhile, we have now got an interesting information that veteran actor Livingston has been roped in to play an important role in the film. Livingston has already acted in three Rajinikanth films including Veera, Sivaji and Kuselan and Thalaivar 168 will be his fourth. More details on his character is awaited. From what we see, the casting looks quite fresh and interesting and it looks like the audience are in for something exciting.

A Sun Pictures venture, the film will be a rural family entertainer featuring music by D. Imman with speculations rife for a while that it would come out in theatres as a Diwali 2020 release. That said, sources close to us have revealed that the makers of Thalaivar 168 are planning to bring the film out in screens worldwide as an Ayudha Pooja holidays treat, which most likely would be on the weekend before the festival, either on October 22, 2020 or October 23, 2020.

The plan to release Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 168 in October 2020 could possibly be to avoid any box office clashes as his Petta did with Ajith's Viswasam, earlier this year. Considering Viswasam went on to become a huge hit in Tamil Nadu and Petta going to become a massive blockbuster globally, the makers of Thalaivar 168 would have thought about the commercial returns that could get split in case it goes on to come out with another big film. As known already, Ajith's next film, Valimai, under H. Vinoth's direction and producer Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner as well was announced a while back to be releasing on the occasion of Diwali in November 2020.

The gorgeous Keerthy Suresh proved to be an amazing performer with a memorable performance in Mahanati and this garnered her the National Award for Best Actress. The 66th National Awards were given away on Monday (December 23rd) by the Indian Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, to all the winners. Keerthy Suresh attended this event at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi and received her award. Congratulatory wishes have been pouring in for her from all quarters and just yesterday Anushka Shetty put up some warm wishes for Keerthy on her Facebook page.

The shooting for this movie went on floors recently and the unit is currently at the Ramoji Rao Film City, in Hyderabad. The entire Thalaivar 168 team, including Superstar Rajinikanth, celebrated Keerthy's success in receiving the National Award by cutting a cake and wishing her at the shooting spot!
