So, thank you Vijay and the jury." Vijay Deverakonda, who played the lead in the Animal director's filmmaking debut Arjun Reddy (2017), chimed in saying, "If anybody deserves this award, for me, it's Sandeep. I know how he works as a director from his writing. He will sit on every frame to edit because he loves his hero and he loves his actors, and he wants every minute expression to be perfect. How he sits on the background score, how he sits on the poster, how he sits on the trailer, I know he gave me one of the best films that I'm still remembered for, Arjun Reddy, in my career because of this passion and love for cinema and this love for me. I miss him loads and he deserves every award he receives for being a director."

'Kanguva': Suriya film's sizzle teaser's massive impact and business, producer Dhananjeyan talks sequel plans (EXCLUSIVE)

2024-04-14T17:13:00 +05:30 kanguva suriya dual looks reveals a meeting of the past and the present siva devi sri prasad - Movie Cinema News

National Award-winning Tamil actor Suriya's Kanguva had an action-packed sizzle teaser released earlier this week to a rousing response and the buzz for the film has shot up after new visuals that were presented for the first time at the Amazon Prime event in Mumbai. The upcoming film directed by blockbuster filmmaker Siva also stars Bollywood sensation Disha Patani and Animal (2023) villain Bobby Deol making their Tamil cinema debut, while the songs and the background score are being composed by hit music director Devi Sri Prasad. With the Kanguva sizzle teaser continuing to be the talk of the town, popular Tamil film producer G. Dhananjeyan Govind has now in an exclusive interview with Galatta opened up on the spectacular feedback to the visuals, while also sharing how the new glimpse has helped the film's business already.

Speaking about Kanguva, Dhananjeyan said, "The film is doing huge business already. Be it digital or Hindi dubbing, I have received so many phone calls from many states after the release of the Kanguva teaser. There were calls where I was asked about the film's entire distribution in Andhra Pradesh and the price for the Kerala release as there is such a big demand. Gnanavel sir has made it clear that the film should be completed because if we can make such a massive impact with a 55-second teaser, it will be on a bigger level once the teaser and trailer come out. So, let's wait and do the business because there's no hurry."

Dhananjeyan also opened up about the plans for a Kanguva sequel by saying, "This film is going to be a milestone venture and there's an effort for part 2. So, when there is such an effort, you can't put out a release date and keep giving updates. The one thing I wish to convey to fans is that sharing updates on a weekly basis about a film is not possible. If we give you weekly updates, what will you have when you go to watch the film? You will know everything by then." He added, "This one-minute glimpse of Kanguva that we released wasn't planned at all. Amazon Prime asked us whether we can give them a glimpse for 20-30 seconds. When it's a glimpse, we could show Suriya sir coming and going, and Bobby Deol also appearing, and we then spoke to Siva sir. Gnanavel Raja sir told us coordinate accordingly and hand it over to Amazon Prime. I then asked Siva sir about whether a 30-second glimpse will be ready and he asked whether it will be okay if its duration was longer. It was like asking for tiffin and getting a big lunch, and I said it'd be superb then. He then said we'll release a sizzle teaser. And, after watching it, we were stunned."
