Tamil actress -turned-politician Khushbu Sundar has been outspoken about many social and political issues over the years. In 2023, she made revelations about the sexual abuse she faced as a child by her father, which sparked a huge reaction, with many praising her for her act of courage. In that light, Khushbu recently sat down with Galatta for an exclusive podcast interview to talk about the incident and also open up on the long-standing support she has gotten from her filmmaker husband Sundar. C and her family. 

Khusbhu started off by saying, "I've never been close to my father. I haven't seen him from the age of 16. I don't know whether he's there or no more. I'm not even bothered about it." Explaining the reason to talk about her personal life in a public space, she said, "It's been there within my heart somewhere. It keeps poking you all your life. Everyday morning you wake up and it's there within you. So, by keeping that burden within yourself... In today's times, what we say as a NCW member or even as a woman, what I tell everyone is, talk about it immediately."

Khushbu continued, "If I'm speaking about it after so many years, I was holding back probably because it was my father. In some way, my mother and family are involved, but this didn't come as a big surprise to my husband or children as they are aware about it. After talking about this, it makes you feel very light. And, if I can inspire 2-3 other people to speak up... because when there is such an abuse, 95% of the abuse comes from the family. The remaining 5% comes from the people outside. So, most of the time family members will tell you not to speak about these things publicly and I want women to come and talk. A perpetrator is a perpetrator and he needs to be punished irrespective of who he is." 

Speaking about the strong support she has received from husband Sundar. C since the days when they were lovers, Khusbhu stated, "It's a very open relationship. There's no hide and seek between us. There are no secrets that will surface three years later. Nothing as such. It's very clear. From day one, we have been very clear with each other. Honesty is the best policy." She added, "My husband is a very understanding man. I've told about this to him. Even during the time when we were lovers, I told him that such an incident took place. He was very supportive. And, when I see him with his daughters today, I'm so proud of him. He's the best father a child could ever find. His entire world is his children. I come only after that. His world starts with Avantika and ends with Anandita. You will find me somewhere at the tail end."

It came as a big surprise to Tamil cinema fans back in 2021 when it was announced that filmmaker-actor Sundar. C would be reprising his role as Subramaniam aka. Right in Thalai Nagaram 2 under VZ Dhorai's direction. The upcoming film is a sequel to the smash hit Thalai Nagaram directed by Suraaj, which went on to become a massive commercial success at the time of its release in 2006. Now, in 2023, we're once again set to witness Sundar. C as Right and this time as a powerful gangster, who is seen taking on new enemies in the film's trailer released on Sunday, June 11. 

The Thalai Nagaram 2 trailer today starts off showing chaotic scenes as there is death and despair everywhere, with Sundar. C then being introduced almost along the lines of a do-gooder despite his means and methods being violent. We see him informing a cop that there are twelve murder cases and eight attempt-to-murder cases filed against him, but he is yet to be convicted of the crimes. The Thalai Nagaram 2 trailer concludes with Sundar. C as Right telling the official that he will finish off with anyone who stands in his way whether the individual is a police officer or not, thus making his intentions clear that he is not one to be messed with. 

Thalai Nagaram 2 is the second time Sundar. C and director VZ Dhorai have teamed up after their 2019 supernatural horror hit Iruttu and fans will be looking forward to see how the film will be different from Thalai Nagaram released in 2006. The film also stars Kuppathu Raja and Sixer fame Palak Lalwani as the female lead, followed by Thambi Ramaiah, 'Baahubali' Prabhakar, Aayira, Jaise Jose, Vishal Rajan, Seran Raja among others in key roles and features music composed by Ghibran. Blockbuster filmmaker turned actor Sundar. C will be seen next in Pattampoochi, which is a period action thriller and has him playing the role of a cop once again after the 2019 supernatural horror thriller film, Iruttu, which went on to become a box office success. The upcoming film also includes Jai cast in the role of a serial killer, with the story revolving around the cat-mouse chase between the Chennai 600028 actor and Sundar. C. Produced by Khushbu Sundar under the Avni Tele Media banner, Pattampoochi has been directed by Badri, a former associate of Sundar C, and promotions are in full swing now ahead of the film's release soon, with the makers on Tuesday unveiling the fast-paced 'Vettaigal Aarambam' song video, which gives a glimpse into the various moments Sundar. C and Jai engage in confrontation. 

Featuring music by Navneeth Sundar, who has also sung 'Vettaigal Aarambam' with Nivas, the song has lyrics penned by Pa. Vijay and teases the intense action in store for fans when Pattampoochi arrives on the big screens. The sequences shown in the song alone depict the rivalry between Sundar. C and Jai in the film, which will no doubt be a major USP for fans. Popular Malayalam actress Honey Rose plays the female lead, with Baby Maanasvi and Imman Annachi cast in important supporting roles. 'Vettaigal Aarambam' is the second song from Pattampoochi to be released after the title track had come out last week and received positive feedback from fans. 

Pattampoochi is generating a lot of talk in the trade and on social media as fans have been expressing their excitement for the film. Apart from the star cast, the film also has a talented technical team featuring the likes of cinematographer Esakki Krishnasamy, editor Fenny Oliver, and art director Prem Kumar. The story of Pattampoochi set in the 80s has in itself created a huge curiosity among fans and the film's teaser released a while back too was met with positive reaction.

The buzz for Pattampoochi has been quite high in the trade and the pre-release talk on social media too is largely positive as fans have been sharing their anticipation on social media. The film also has a talented technical team on board starting with cinematography by Esakki Krishnasamy, editing by Fenny Oliver, and art direction by Prem Kumar. The premise of Pattampoochi set in the 80s alone has generated a lot of curiosity among fans, especially after the makers released an action-packed teaser sometime back.

Blockbuster director Sundar. C is one of the few filmmakers in Tamil cinema to adapt himself to different genres, including tasting immense success over the years with his Aranmanai franchise. The latest film in the franchise, Aranmanai 3, released in theatres on Friday as a grand Ayudha Pooja treat and has taken a stellar opening. Jointly produced by Avni Cinemax and Benzz Media, producer Khushbu Sundar took to social media to share a video of audiences thronging theatres, including advance bookings of housefull shows everywhere. 

Sharing the video on Twitter, Khushbu extended her gratitude to fans for their response towards Aranmanai 3 and wrote, "Thank you so much for your love and support, as always. C had said that the film has been made keeping in mind audiences of all ages as it includes a story with fantasy horror comedy elements that will keep everyone engaged throughout. Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is distributing Aranmanai 3 starring Arya, Raashi Khanna, Andrea Jeremiah and Sundar. C in the lead roles, with the film also marking the final appearance of comedy superstar Padmashri Dr. Vivekh after he passed away in April this year. Vivekh is lent support by Yogi Babu and Manobala for the comedy and their antics are a big USP for Aranmanai 3, with the supporting cast also featuring names like Sakshi Agarwal, Myna Nandhini, and several others. The film's technical team includes cinematographer UK Senthil Kumar and editor Fenny Oliver, while the stunt sequences have been choreographed by Peter Hein, Thalapathy Dinesh, and Pradeep Dinesh.

Having proven himself to be a credible filmmaker with his films catering to audiences of all ages, Sundar. C has also over the years carved a niche for himself as a performer after making his acting debut in the blockbuster, Thalai Nagaram. In that light, it came as a big surprise to many fans on Thursday when it was announced that a sequel titled Thalai Nagaram 2 with Sundar. C reprising his character as Subramaniam aka. Right and this time under VZ Dhorai's direction after the 2006 original was directed by Suraaj. 

Sundar. C, who has since the first Thalai Nagaram film featured in Veerappu, Aayudham Seivom, Aiyantham Padai and the Aranmanai ventures, was seen at the launch of Thalai Nagaram 2. The upcoming film being produced by SM Prabhakaran's Right Eye Theaters banner was launched with a formal pooja, which saw Sundar. C. and director VZ Dhorai joining the proceedings, who are teaming up once again after their Iruttu, which turned out to be a hit in late 2019. A standee was also erected at the pooja ceremony highlighting the Thalai Nagaram 2 title along with the tagline 'Right is Back' written above the poster.

Post the announcement of Thalai Nagaram 2's launch, the question on everyone's minds has been whether comedy superstar 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu will also be returning to reprise his iconic character Naai Sekar. The first Thalai Nagaram film remains memorable among fans of Vadivelu, whose comedy track and character of Naai Sekar received a staggering response. Vadivelu's chemistry with Sundar. C throughout the film was on point and the masses lapped up their interactions in the comedy sequences. As of now, there is no word on whether Vadivelu will act in the Thalai Nagaram sequel and only an official announcement will clear the air. 

The Tamil remake of the smash hit 2016 Kannada comedy drama film, Mayabazar, titled Naanga Romba Busy was announced in September, with filming getting wrapped in quick time amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Hit commercial director Sundar. C had acquired Mayabazar's Tamil remake rights, which starred Raj Shetty, Vasishta Simha, Achyuth Kumar, Prakash Raj and Sadhu Kokila in the lead roles. Naanga Romba Busy starring Prasanna, Shaam, Ashwin Kakumanu, Yogi Babu and Shruti Marathe in the lead roles, with VTV Ganesh, Power Star Srinivasan, Naan Kadavul Rajendran among others in major supporting roles has been directed by Badri of Veerappu, Ainthaam Padai, Thillu Mullu (2013) and Aadama Jeichomada fame. 

With Naanga Romba Busy announced to have a direct television premiere on Sun TV on the festive occasion of Diwali, the much-awaited trailer for the film has now been released. The Naanga Romba Busy trailer shows off a heist being pulled off by Yogi Babu, who plays a central character in the film, which has Prasanna in the lead role as a cop, followed by Shaam and Ashwin Kakumanu who as well are sharing equal screen space. A struggle for money and the will to break the nexus of corruption in the police department amidst the demonetisation period in India, the film's trailer packs in a punch with action, comedy, sentiment and drama. It is to be noted that the film's direct television release is the first ever time that something of this sort is ever happening.

Announced to be premiering on Sun TV on November 14 at 11AM, Naanga Romba Busy also includes music by C. Sathya is expected to be yet another delightful treat for viewers from director Sundar. C, who has produced the film under his Avni Movies banner, which has previously produced hit ventures namely Meesaiya Murukku, Natpe Thunai and Naan Sirithal. Considering Mayabazar turned out to be a funny entertainer that witnessed a huge success in the Kannada film industry, Sundar. C and the Naanga Romba Busy team will be hoping to emulate a similar kind of triumph with the Tamil audiences.

Director Sundar. C’s return to acting after a gap of three years in his latest film, Iruttu, is turning out to be a success. Last seen as the lead in the 2016 film, Muthina Kathirikai, Sundar.
