History has been created as 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer has amassed huge new numbers at the worldwide box office. Prestigious production-distribution banner Sun Pictures on Friday, August 25, dropped yet another massive announcement informing fans of the film's box office totals crossing 525 crores in gross collections. Sharing a new Jailer poster featuring Rajinikanth seated on a chair at his suave and elegant best as always, Sun Pictures released the new box office report in their new big announcement.

Jailer has been breaking box office records left and right as the film also registered the highest first-week total gross collection in the history of Tamil cinema with 375.40+ crores, thus once again bringing to the fore Rajinikanth's star power. The mass action entertainer directed by blockbuster filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar and featuring music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander recently also created a new overseas record by becoming the highest-grossing film of the iconic actor in the USA after it crossed the $5 million mark at the box office, while registering more than 525,000 admissions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC), the highest for a Tamil venture, overseas distributor Ayngaran International announced last week. 

Rajinikanth's Jailer has been enjoying a clean outing in theatres with no big films entering the competition and the latest numbers once again suggest that the film could well continue to sweep the box office in the days ahead. The film powered by the presence of Tamil cinema's 'Superstar' along with an engaging screenplay by director Nelson, stellar production value by Sun Pictures, chart-topping songs and a power-packed background score from Anirudh, and a host of big stars making cameo and special guest appearances has added to its success. All eyes will now be set on how much more Rajinkanth's Jailer goes on to score at the box office in the days ahead considering the latest Sun Pictures announcement will no doubt be the talk of the town till then.

Taking to their social networking handles, Sun Pictures announced that the 'Hukum' track in Rajinikanth's Jailer has attained the distinction of the first-ever South Indian song to become number one on Spotify in India. This latest record by the song on the audio streaming and media services provider is indeed massive as it continues to reign at the top of the charts. 'Hukum' sung by Anirudh and also featuring vocals by Rajinikanth himself to the lyrics penned by Super Subu has received a sensational response from all quarters and was also a major highlight during the Jailer audio launch where celebrities and fans too were seen grooving to the chart-topping hit track.

Sun Pictures has also announced that the Jailer album is also currently reigning at the top at number one on Spotify Top Albums India. The film continues to smash box office records after it was revealed earlier this week that the its first-week total gross collection of 375.40 crores (tentative - still updating) is the highest in the history of Tamil cinema. Rajinikanth's Jailer is currently en route to becoming one of Tamil cinema's biggest box office hits and fans await fresh numbers to be revealed in the days ahead.

The excitement for the Jailer audio launch is surely at an all-time high as Sun Pictures has revealed that 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's ardent fans have claimed the passes in quick time for the grand event scheduled to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Friday, July 28 from 4 p.m. The blockbuster production-distribution banner announced today that it took the iconic Tamil actor's fans only 15 seconds to claim a total of 1000 free passes that were up for grabs for the Jailer audio launch, thus once again proving the tremendous buzz the upcoming film is carrying.

On Sunday, Sun Pictures announced that 500 people will be getting two passes each for the Jailer audio launch while sharing a list of terms and conditions under which fans had to register their details like name, father's name, email ID, and mobile number on a website launched specially for the purpose. The passion among fans for the audio launch event of the Rajinikanth-starrer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is huge considering it will be the first time in almost three years that the veteran actor will be taking to the stage after his Darbar audio release ceremony in late 2019. It is to be noted that the audio launch ceremony for Rajinikanth's Annaatthe had not been held owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown back in 2021, which is one of the big reasons for the massive enthusiasm surrounding the Jailer audio launch. 

Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer features music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander and the two songs released so far - 'Kaavaalaa' and 'Hukum' - are already reigning at the top of the charts. Rajinikanth will be sharing the screen alongside a packed star cast featuring the likes of Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal, Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, and Yogi Babu, while Taramani and Rocky actor Vasanth Ravi, Mariyan antagonist Vinayakan, Pushpa fame Sunil, Mirna Menon, Jaffer Sadiq, Kishore, Aranthaangi Nisha, Mithun, Arshad, Marimuthu, Namo Narayana, Ananth, Mahanadi Shankar, Sugunthan, Karate Karthi, Billy Muralee, Rithvik, Saravanan, and Kalai Arasan will also be seen making appearances. 

'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer is progressing at a brisk pace and is one of the biggest Tamils films in production coming out this year under the Sun Pictures banner. Being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the upcoming venture is touted to be a mass-action entertainer and expectations are huge for the film, with speculations rife that it will open in theatres in April in a grand manner. With a major chunk of production already completed and several big names from South Indian cinema already on board, Sun Pictures on Thursday, January 19, dropped a massive announcement informing fans that leading actress Tamannaah Bhatia has joined the cast of Rajinikanth's Jailer. 

Jailer marks Tamannaah's return to Tamil cinema after a nearly 4-year gap when she was last seen in Vishal's Action (2019). The actress has featured alongside several big Tamil superstars over the years among whom include 'Thalapathy' Vijay, Ajith Kumar, 'Chiyaan' Vikram, Suriya, and Karthi to name a notable few, with her big role in the Rajinikanth-starrer no doubt turning out to be the icing on the cake. Speculations were rife sometime back about the actress' casting in Rajinikanth's next and this announcement now officially confirms the news. Currently starring in 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi's Bholaa Shankar, which is a remake of Ajith's Tamil blockbuster Vedalam, Jailer is Tamannaah's next big project alongside an iconic superstar like Rajinikanth. Tamannaah is the latest big addition to Rajinikanth's Jailer, which also includes celebrated Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, the revered Mohanlal from Malayalam making a cameo appearance, while Telugu actor Sunil of Pushpa: The Rise fame has been cast in a crucial role. Featuring music by chart-topping composer Anirudh Ravichander, the film will also see Rajinikanth sharing screen space with Ramya Krishnan once again after their 1999 cult classic box office blockbuster Padayappa, followed by Taramani fame Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Malayalam actor Vinayakan are appearing in key roles. 

Earlier this evening (August 24), Sun Pictures made the much-awaited big announcement on the star cast of Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer and the update has instantly garnered attention on social media. As widely reported, ace actress Ramya Krishnan is officially onboard for Jailer and she is sharing screen space with Superstar Rajinikanth after 23 long years. The classic Padaiyappa duo are reuniting with Jailer and this is indeed going to be a visual treat for the fans. Taramani and Rocky fame Vasanth Ravi is also a part of the star cast and one can expect this to be his breakthrough in the mass commercial cinema.

Popular Malayalam actor Vinayakan and Yogi Babu have also been roped in to be a part of Jailer. The makers have confirmed the addition of four talented actors to Jailer and more updates are expected to follow in the coming days. The shooting of Jailer kickstarted at the beginning of this week and the shoot has been progressing at a brisk pace in Chennai. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar who would be looking forward to bouncing back in style. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander who is getting back with his favourite Superstar for the third time after Petta and Darbar.

Vijay Kartik Kannan of Doctor fame is handling the cinematography while R Nirmal and drk Kiran have been assigned to take care of the editing and art direction departments respectively. Stun Shiva is working as the action choreographer. Details regarding the release plans of Jailer are yet to be known and further details are awaited. The team is also yet to announce the female lead and names like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tamannaah are being rumoured and we will get a better clarity in the coming days. Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam which released in theatres yesterday (August 18) has opened big at the box office and the film has earned the love of the audiences across the world. The positive reviews have been overflowing on social media and the positive word of mouth has indeed made the film gain massive momentum in the theatres. The film is expected to go great business at the box office this weekend and for the next few weeks as well. On that note, the film's opening day box office report has now been known. Without revealing the numbers, Sun Pictures has revealed that the film has taken a blockbuster opening.

Sembian Sivakumar, the Chief Operating Officer of Sun Pictures, took to his official Twitter page to share his happiness about the successful opening of Thiruchitrambalam. Sembian's tweet read, "#Thiruchitrabalam takes a grand opening 🎉✨with terrific response and reviews worldwide 💥Thanks one and all 🙏". Similarly, Nikilesh Surya, the Managing Director of Rohini Silver Screens, mentioned that a record number of 10000 tickets have been sold out on the opening day and it is indeed a mammoth number. Thiruchitrambalam is Dhanush's first theatrical release of this year and he couldn't have asked for a better reception.

Thiruchitrambalam features Nithya Menen, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Raashi Khanna as the female leads, and among the three, Nithya Menen has easily scored the top marks and has favoured the audience's results. Dhanush has gotten back to his good old VIP zone with Thiruchitrambalam. Anirudh Ravichander's musical score has also played an important part in taking the film to wider range of audiences. Directed by Mithran R Jawahar of Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Uthamaputhiran fame, the film has Prakash Raj, Bharathiraja, and Munishkanth in supporting roles.

Dhanush will next be seen in Naane Varuven which is currently in the post production stages, getting ready for a release in September or October. The film is directed by Selvaraghavan.

Leading Tamil actor Dhanush's next, the multi-starrer Thiruchitrambalam, directed by Mithran Jawahar under the Sun Pictures banner is currently the talk of the town as the team has been introducing each of the main characters from the upcoming film. With visuals for each of the main characters unveiled, the wait has been on for the first glimpse of the two-time National Award-winning actor. In that light, Sun Pictures on Saturday evening finally released the highly-anticipated first visuals of Dhanush, who is seen seated on a scooter and is introduced looking quite startled. Thiruchitrambalam, which incidentally marks the reunion of the actor with 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander after their Thanga Magan (2015), has the composer propelling the character introduction promo with a peppy tune on the nadaswaram, while complementing with rustic folks beats. 

Dhanush plays the titular role in Thiruchitrambalam and the film is one of the most-awaited in recent times as it also has him teaming up with director Mithran Jawahar after they collaborated in films like Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Kutty, and Uthamaputhiran. The film is currently in the post-production stages, with the makers earlier introducing the other major stars in the family entertainer starting with Raashii Khanna as Anusha, followed by Priya Bhavani Shankar as Ranjani, and Nithya Menen as Shobana, while veteran director Bharathiraja will be appearing as Senior Thiruchitrambalam and Prakash Raj is Inspector Neelakandan. 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast trailer will finally be arriving in grand style on Saturday ahead of the film's theatrical release on April 13. All set to be released later today evening at 6 p.m., Sun Pictures has now announced that the highly-anticipated Beast trailer will be premiering in the Premium Large Format (PLF) for the first time in India while adding that a rocking experience awaits fans everywhere. Explaining what PLF is and how it will be applied in Vijay's Beast, reputed Tamil film colorist G. Balaji, best known for his work in Aadai, Super Deluxe, Kadaisi Vivasayi, and Navarasa to name a few, took to Twitter and said that the Beast trailer in YouTube will be equivalent to the digital cinema IMAX projection aspect ratio of 1.89:1.

This latest announcement from Sun Pictures will no doubt come as big joyous news for Vijay's fans, who will be looking to head to theatres to witness the Beast trailer in a large scale format. The excitement for the trailer has been massive and the buildup to it has been nothing short of sensational as the response to the promotions for the film has so far been astounding. There are also expectations that the Beast trailer will create many new online records after Vijay’s Master teaser released in late 2020 became the most-viewed Tamil film teaser of all time. It is to be noted that the last time a trailer had come out for a Vijay film was for Bigil in 2019 and it will be interesting to see if Beast will go past it.

With the highly-anticipated Beast trailer scheduled to be released on April 2 at 6 p.m., the prestigious production house has been raising the anticipation for the first visuals from the upcoming film with unseen photos and behind-the-scenes stills. On Friday, Sun Pictures once again took to social media and shared a new Beast shooting spot still, but with the exception of Vijay not making an appearance. The new still features the mass action thriller's director Nelson Dilipkumar, who is seen showing visuals on his phone to the film's heroine Pooja Hegde, including the supporting cast among whom are Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Sathish Krishnan, Aparna Das, Shiva Aravind, followed by art director D.R.K. Beast is currently one of the biggest films gearing up for a grand release and will open in theatres worldwide on April 13. The buzz for the film in the trade has been nothing short of stunning and the excitement is visible among fans too, who have been taking to social media and are coming up with their own versions of what the plot could be. Beast is Vijay's second venture to be coming out under the Sun Pictures banner after 2018’s Sarkar and they are going full-out in bringing the film to audiences everywhere. Taking into consideration that same plan, there is a likelihood that the first update could be about the Beast release date announcement. We know for sure that the film is set for an April release and the date now officially needs to be confirmed by Sun Pictures. The second probability for an update would be the announcement of the Beast motion poster, which would no doubt be a big bonanza treat for Vijay's fans considering the last time such a glimpse was released from the actor's film was back in 2014 for Kaththi. The next prospect is the Beast first single and the odds of that to happen are quite likely as well taking into account how the 'Kutty Story' song from his 2021 blockbuster Master was released in early 2020 on February 14 as Valentine's Day treat. There is also the chance that fans might be getting a new Beast poster, which would have to top the ones the team has so far unveiled bearing in mind the previous looks have been nothing short of sensational. The final possibility is that Sun Pictures could release a calendar plan for Beast similar to what had previously been done for Vijay's Mersal where the makers of the 2017 box office money-spinner announced the dates for the first look, audio launch, and the release date. 

With only a few more hours to go, the countdown has begun among 'Thalapathy' Vijay's fans for the Beast update they have been waiting for.
