The cute and lovely lovebirds of B-town, Sonam Kapoor and Punit Malhotra, are well know for both being calm and level-headed people! However, a recent telephonic spat between the two, has given rise to reports of the two heading for splitsville! News on the grapevine is that, Punit was having dinner with his friends when he was repeatedly getting a call on his mobile, which he too seemed to continuously disconnect. After having tried unsuccessfully for a while, he had to attend the call, after minutes of which the conversation turned heated, and it was evident to all present that Punit was fighting with the person on the phone, who turned out to be Sonam.

A source close to the duo reveals that this difficult phase for the duo may be because of the less time that they are getting to spend with each other, as Punit is busy working on his upcoming movie, and Sonam is tied up with Raanjhanaa, which marks the bollywood debut of South star Dhanush! We hope the duo patch up soon!

Sonam Kapoor rubbishes rumours about not getting along with Ranbir

Sonam Kapoor rubbishes rumours about not getting along with Ranbir

It's a crucial phase for Sonam Kapoor. The pretty actress has two movies releasing back to back -- Karan Johar's home-production I Hate Luv Storys and dad Anil Kapoor's Aisha -- and the interesting aspect is, she will be seen in glam roles in both, unlike her first two films [Saawariya and Delhi 6], which slotted her in gharelu, desi roles. Even otherwise, her career is on an upswing, with Anees Bazmee's Thank You and Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut Mausam in her kitty.

"Oh yes, it looks like I have to appear in two new examinations in two consecutive months," Sonam laughs, as we discuss her makeover. In fact, Sonam had modeled for various fashion and lifestyle mags in trendy attire, which she carries off very well. "The roles in Saawariya and Delhi 6 demanded a traditional Indian look. If I got slotted in an image after these films, it only goes to prove that I carried off those roles well," she reasons.

While the promos of I Hate Luv Storys have created a solid tremendous buzz, Aisha is also looking impressive, say insiders, with Sonam's performance in both being talked about. In fact, Anil Kapoor, who has produced Aisha, was so overwhelmed by its script that he decided to produce it himself. Sonam's younger sis Rhea took over the production reins and Sonam, obviously, decided to step into Aisha's sandals. Although Jane Austen's novel 'Emma' was set in 19th century England, Aisha is a contemporary film, set in New Delhi and locales of North India.

Sonam identifies with her role in Aisha since she, like Emma, is into matchmaking in real life. "I do that occasionally in real life. This role, therefore, was easy for me to interpret," Sonam laughs. But matters of heart can be heartbreaking at times. Has she ever nursed a broken heart? "Never," she smiles.

There's talk that Sonam and her Saawariya co-star Ranbir Kapoor don't see eye to eye and have decided against working with each other. "Not true! Ranbir and I are good friends. We talk to each other regularly. We were offered films in the past, but things didn't work out for several reasons. But there's no jhagda, please," she clarifies.

Check out Sonam Kapoor shooting for Thank You in Canada

We saw her as the girl who is bitten by the love bug in Saawariya, then we saw her as the bubby girl who wants to break the shackles of the society in Delhi 6, and now Sonam Kapoor is charging into unexplored territory with Anees Bazmee's Thank You, a comedy flick to the core. In this film, Sonam will be seen as a tennis player. A-la Sania Mirza is it? This one would sure be fun as we will get to see Sonam doing something closer, lighter than her earlier roles.

Here's the picture of her in Canada with her friends/crew members or as Sonam puts it in her tweets "First Day on Thank You set with my girls... who make me look faaaaab".

Sammir Dattani: Sonam Kapoor is fun to work with

Sammir Dattani seems to be on a high these days. Ask him why and he says, "It's this buzz in the air!"

And once he starts speaking, you can almost feel that 'buzz' too, because he just can't stop talking. There are many reason for his excitement; first is the Dubai Film Festival he will be going for.

Says Sammir, "Right now, I'm looking forward to going to Dubai for the Film Festival on December 9 where Mr. Shyam Benegal's Well Done Abba is being screened. To be part of a film by Shyam Babu is any actor's dream come true. The experience was fabulous, the people were fabulous, and I got chance to shoot with one of my favourite actors of all time, Boman Irani."

Well Done Abba is the second film to bring Sammir and Minissha Lamba together. "I had a guest appearance in Madhur Bhandarkar's Corporate with Minissha. For Shyam Babu's film, we spent a lot more time together. Minissha is extremely sweet and genuine. But working with Shyam Babu? Now that's something else!"

That's not all; there is more reason to the excitement, which happens to be the shoot for Karan Johar's I Hate Love Stories with Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan. Speaking about the Karan Johar (Dharma) experience, Sammir says, "Yes the shoot in on full swing in Mumbai but all I'll say is, this is the most comfortable unit I've worked with since my debut with the Rajshri's Uff...Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai.Director Punit Malhotra knows exactly what he wants. And Sonam is loads of fun to work with. We are all pretty much a bunch of youngsters on the set having fun and working very hard at the same time."

Sammir was constantly in and out of Mumbai as he'd been shooting in 3 cities. "Sometimes, I wake up in the morning not knowing where I am. I was in Chennai shooting with Shriya Saran for a film. For this film, we were travelling to and fro from Mumbai to Chennai to a place close to Vishakhapatnam where there is no airport. Then I had to rush to Jodhpur for a longish stint of Percept Pictures 8. Now I'm back in Mumbai for IHLS."

He adds laughing, "You know what? I can't sleep without unpacking my luggage no matter what time of the night I reach my destination. People around me think it's an OCD, but I say I'm just plain organized! Lately with my schedule each time, I unpackand wonder why I even try, because soon it's time to pack again. I think I'm going to at least try to learn how to live out of a suitcase for a change!" As though waking up in a different city every other day was not enough, Sammir underwent a series of spooky experiences while shooting in a fort in Jodhpur for Percept Pictures' supernatural thriller 8.

"I don't know what it was; maybe it was the atmosphere of the place or just the atmosphere on set that I carried with me to my room. But I'd constantly feel a presence in my room and caught myself scanning the room a number of times just to make sure it was just me there. I'm not superstitious, but when I heard one of the king's dancers had died in that room, I demanded a change."

"I know every other place from forts to schools have such legends, but if am working on a horror film, I'm not carrying a part of it back with me just in case the dancer girl decides to haunt me for life, just because I decided to share her room," laughs Sammir.
