In tragic news, Kerala-based trans model and actress Sherin Celin Mathew was found dead in her rented apartment at Chakkaraparambu in Edappally near Kochi on Tuesday, May 17. She was 26. According to the police, the popular Malayalam artiste was found hanging from a ceiling fan by her roommates, with authorities later confirming the same upon their arrival at the flat. It is further being reported that Sherin committed suicide while she was on a video call as her mobile phone camera remained turned on. Reports state that she had been depressed for a while as a result of a few disputes and differences of opinion with her friends. 

Hailing from the Alappuzha district, Sherin Celin Mathew had been residing in Chakkaraparambu over the last few years. A case has been filed for unnatural death and a prima facie suggesting it was a suicide, police reports state. Furthermore, a probe has been launched and an investigation is currently underway into Sherin's demise, while her body has also been sent for a post-mortem. She has appeared in minor supporting roles in a few Malayalam films apart from being active in modeling. Sherin's suicide is the fifth such case by a transgender individual in the city in the last year. 

Sherin Celin Mathew is the second personality from the Malayalam entertainment industry after model-actress Sahana was found dead in her apartment on her 22nd birthday a few days back. Her parents have since alleged that she had suffered domestic abuse from her husband Sajjad, who was later taken into custody by the police. In 2021, a trans-woman radio jockey Ananya Kumari Alex was found dead in her Kochi apartment, who was also suspected to have committed suicide.

Bigg Boss fame actress Sherin has tested positive for the Covid 19 virus and she took to her official Instagram page to share the news with her fans and followers. Sherin requested the people who came in close contact with her in the last few days to get themselves tested. Sherin's official statement read, "Hello everyone, I have just been informed that I have been tested positive for Covid 19. If you have come in contact with me in the last 3-4 days, kindly isolate yourself and get tested ASAP. Don’t know where I picked it up from but plz isolate, test and stay safe. Thank you!".

Fans have been praying for Sherin's speedy recovery and at this moment, Galatta Media also extends its wishes for Sherin to recover from the infection. Sherin got her breakthrough as an actor after playing the female lead in Dhanush's Thulluvadho Ilamai. Student Number 1 and Whistle are the other popular films that featured Sherin in the lead role. After a hiatus, Sherin made her re-entry into the media industry with the widely popular TV show, Bigg Boss Tamil - Season 3. Sherin's gameplay and character fetched her fans across the world and her journey in the show was quite successful. Sherin was declared as the third runner up of the show.

We will have to wait for a few more months to know if Sherin will be making her re-entry in Tamil cinema. Her last outing in Kollywood was the Udhayanidhi Stalin - Santhanam starrer, Nanbenda. Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 came to a grand conclusion on Sunday, with Aari Arujunan being declared as the winner, followed by Balaji Murugadoss being announced as the first runner up, Rio Raj as the second runner up, Ramya Pandian as the third runner up and Som Shekar as the fourth runner up. The recent edition of the hit reality TV show hosted once again by 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan kicked off in October last year and went on to be telecast for more than three months, with Vijay TV and Hotstar getting phenomenal ratings. 

A major highlight of the recently-concluded finale was the finalists from Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 entering the Bigg Boss 4 house to bring out the contestants one by one. Bigg Boss 3 winner Mugen Rao had brought out Som Shekar, with Sherin Shringar entering the Bigg Boss 4 house to bring out Ramya Pandian, followed by Kavin escorting Rio Raj, thereby leaving the two finalists Aari and Balaji Murugadoss. In that light, a controversy has now blown up on social media after Sherin had gone to bring out Rio when she said a statement about Balaji, which seemed to be sarcastic in nature. The statement, although fun in tone, sounded a bit harsh, with Bala himself telling then and there itself that, "it was rude". 

Despite being casual in tone, Sherin's statement has since become an issue with Balaji's fans, who have been posting abusive comments on her social media pages. With the issue gaining steam, Balaji posted a story on his Instagram page requesting fans not to abuse Sherin on social media, while adding that they both are good friends. Bala further also appealed to his fans to not post any abusive statements against any of the Bigg Boss 4 contestants. He wrote, "Dear Fans, Came to know few people are posting abusive comments on Actress @sherinshringar instagram and Facebook. She is a very good friend of mine. Balaji Murugadoss has turned out to be one of the biggest highlights of Bigg Boss Tamil season 4, with many complimenting him for his outspoken nature, while some others have criticized him for his attitude on a number of occasions. His rapport with his fellow contestants came into debate several times during his 105-day stay in the Bigg Boss 4 house, with fans also showering him with praises for putting up a tough fight till the end. 

The third season of the Bigg Boss show crossed its 100th day on Tuesday and the all-important grand finale is set o happen this Sunday. Tharshan who was considered as a strong contender for the tile shockingly got evicted last week as Mugen, Sandy, Losliya and Shrin were the final four left fighting for the title in the last week of the show. As the show entered its final week, evicted contestants Meera Mithun, Fathima, Reshma and Mohan entered the house as guests on Monday.

And now in the newly released Tuesday promo other evicted contestants Vanitha, Kasthuri, Shakshi, Abirami, and Cheran can be seen inside the house. The promo also shows Vanitha blaming Sherin for Tharshan's eviction from the Bigg Boss house. Shakshi and Kasthuti seem to be defending Sherin as the later bursting into tears. Bigg Boss 3 - 2nd October 2019 | Promo 1

The third promo for tonight’s episode of Bigg Boss 3 is now out and picks up right from where the earlier two promos released today left off. We see Tharshan trying to pacify a miffed Sherin, who questions him as to why he didn't make any attempts at defending her and the housemates during their allotted task. Sherin is quite angry and confused at the developments and lashes out questioning whether any of them are out there to play a game. She further adds saying everyone is there after a lot of struggles and asks why everyone is tagging one another while adding the behavior of the rest of the housemates is outright rubbish and unfair, referring to Kavin and Losliya. Eventually, Tharshan responds in a cute manner and leaves Sherin blushing hinting there is more between the two that is going on beyond what meets the eye. The ongoing week is going to be quite exciting for Bigg Boss fans as we are inching closer to the show's third season's end, which we expect to happen sometime next month.

The second promo for tonight’s episode of Bigg Boss 3 is out now and shows Kamal Haasan taking the stage as the host and in conversation with Sakshi Agarwal beside him. In the earlier promo, we had seen Kamal talk about the various strategies employed by the housemates against each other with the actor turned politician taking a small dig at Vanitha Vijayakumar and her attitude in general. In the new promo, we see Kamal taunting Vanitha into a discussion after which she engages in the conversation. We see Sakshi then talking after which Kamal questions as to what was told about Sherin. Kamal then informs Sherin that Sakshi isn’t the only Sakshi in the arena as there are many other sakshis (witnesses - Bigg Boss host points towards the audience) as well.

The third promo for today's (Sept 6) episode of Bigg Boss 3 is out and this one is quite serious. Through last night's episode, we had seen a heated argument between Vanitha and Sherin. This happened when Vanitha addressed Sherin - Tharshan's relationship as an affair. That topic was closed last night itself, but it looks the cold war between Sherin and Vanitha seems to be on. Yes, this newly released third promo is suggestive of that. We see Vanitha complaining about Sherin to Cheran and this isn't received positively on the opposite end. Sherin gets irritated with Vanitha and shouts back.

Later, she vents out to Sakshi saying that this is not a prison and Vanitha is not a warden to order every single person in the house. Sherin has always got a good support from the fans and with things like these happening, she is sure to get more favourable response. Well, Vanitha is pissing off not just the audience, but also the housemates inside the house. Check out this new promo below:

The second Bigg Boss 3 promo for tonight’s episode of the hit Tamil reality TV show is out now and shows Sherin in tears and inconsolable pain after Vanitha Vijayakumar had lashed out at her saying she is having an affair with Tharshan. Sherin goes on to state that the accusations have hurt her and she isn’t interested in talking anymore with either Tharshan or Vanitha. We can see Cheran trying to console Sherin, who is shedding tears at a non-stop pace. It is known to all that Sherin had in the earlier episodes stated that she did share feelings for Tharshan, but didn’t want to pursue any further considering she knew he has a girlfriend. Vanitha had stated that she isn’t one who will stand quiet and lashed out in the earlier promo released today saying Sherin and Tharshan’s relationship is outright wrong. We can expect tonight’s episode to be intense with quite a lot of drama as the show did not seeing any visible verbal fights over the past few days.

The first promo for today's (Sept 5) episode of Bigg Boss is out and this one is indeed controversial. In this promo, we see a heated argument between Vanitha and Sherin. Vanitha addresses Sherin's relationship with Tharshan to be an affair and it irks Sherin who shouts back at Vanitha. Sherin loses her cool and says, "You have no rights to talk to me about my relationship like this. Do not talk to me again. Do you have any common sense?" Tharshan and Sherin know their limits of course and they have been casually blushing opposite each other.

It looks like Vanitha has mistaken Sherin's relationship with Tharshan. Things have got nastier inside the Bigg Boss house and Vanitha seems to spare no one. She constantly initiates an argument with every single contestant and this has also irritated the audience. If you haven't seen the promo yet, here it is:








 

The first promo for today's (Sept 2) episode of Bigg Boss is out and in this promo, we see Kavin sharing his thoughts to other housemates. He tells Cheran that he is an award-winning director who has already got numerous number of accolades for his works in the past. He also points out Sherin and states that she has also got a huge fan following and has been appreciated for her works. Kavin adds that it would be good if Cheran and Sherin pave way for some new talents in the house to enter the finals and get the chances of winning the title.

Vanitha has an objection to Kavin's statement and she opposes him. However, Kavin says if there is an objection, let Cheran and Sherin tell that and asks her not to intervene. With immediate effect, Vanitha calls Bigg Boss. What happened next after that is to be watched in tonight's episode. For now, check out the promo:
