Earlier this evening (June 14), Natural star Nani took to his official social media page to announce his next project and the announcement has created a huge buzz on social media. However, this is Nani's next film as a producer and not as an actor. Nani will be bankrolling this new project under his banner of Wall Poster Cinema, along with Prashanti Tipirneni and this is his fourth production venture. The film, which is titled Meet Cute, was officially launched this evening with a formal pooja. The highlight aspect of this film is that it will be directed by Deepthi Ganta, who happens to be Nani's sister. Deepthi Ganta will be making her directorial debut in Telugu cinema with this film and it is going to be an interesting movie to watch out for.
It is good to see Nani supporting her sister's vision and let us hope that the film strikes a chord with the audience. Meet Cute will feature Sathyaraj as one of the leads, while there are also reports which claim that Nivetha Thomas will be seen playing the other lead. The makers are yet to announce the lead cast of the film and we can expect those updates in the next few weeks. Sharing a picture of him holding the film's clapboard, Nani wrote on his Twitter page, "Wall Poster Cinema Production No 4 #MeetCute A new journey begins today :)) This one’s special for more than one reason @mail2ganta @lightsmith83 @VijaiBulganin @vinay2780 @artkolla @Garrybh88 @PrashantiTipirn @walpostercinema".
As an actor, Nani is awaiting the release of his next movie, Tuck Jagadish which is fully complete and ready for release. Once the Covid 19 situation comes under control in the country, Tuck Jagadish will be hitting the screens. Nani also has Shyam Singha Roy, which is directed by Rahul Sankrityan of Taxiwaala fame. There is also Ante Sundaraniki, in which Nani will be sharing screen space with Nazriya Fahadh. For now, check out Nani's official announcement regarding Meet Cute here:

Sathyaraj's daughter, Divya Sathyaraj opposes Uttarakhand CM - breaking statement here!
By Arvind Sundaram | Galatta | 05:26 PM
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has been receiving backlash from a lot of people for his comment about the dressing of women. In his latest statement, Tirath Singh had reportedly said that he does not have a problem with women wearing jeans but objected to the people who wore ripped jeans. He was reportedly quoted as saying, "Showing bare knees by wearing ripped jeans just to look like rich kids is the value given now which is just a race towards westernisation when the Western world today is following us. Ripped jeans pave the way for societal breakdown and is a bad example parents set for children".
This comment from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister has been condemned by ace Tamil actor Sathyaraj's daughter, Divya Sathyaraj. Opposing the comment made by Tirath Singh, Divya Sathyaraj said, "A lot of people advised me against posting pictures in shorts and ripped jeans on my Instagram handle, stating that an aspiring politician should be seen in a cotton saree. As a Periyarist, I strongly oppose Mr. Tirath Singh's statement. Every woman should have the freedom to wear what she wants. I will proudly wear super-torn jeans. Stop telling us what to wear".
Divya Sathyaraj is an aspiring politician and a celebrity nutrionist. She is also the founder of the Mahilmadhi Movement.
WOW: Sathyaraj onboard for Suriya 40 - breaking announcement!
By Arvind Sundaram | Galatta | 01:09 PM
We have been constantly hearing updates from the makers of Suriya 40 (directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures) and the last few days have been quite exciting for Suriya fans. Last week, it was revealed that D Imman will be composing music for the film and the announcement created a solid buzz on social media. Yesterday (Jan 28), it was revealed that Suriya 40 will have the young and happening Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead and it made the fans happy. The pairing of Suriya and Priyanka Mohan is definitely going to look quite fresh and let us see how things shape up. Now, one more announcement has been made and this one is about the addition of a new member to the cast. Yes! Ace actor Sathyaraj has been signed onboard to play an important role in the movie and it is going to be exciting to see him share screen space with Suriya for the first time.
We are yet to get clarity regarding his role in the movie, but reports suggest that Sathyaraj would be seen in the role of Suriya’s father. Let us wait for an official confirmation. Sathyaraj has already worked with director Pandiraj in Kadai Kutty Singam which was a blockbuster hit at the box office. It looks like Pandiraj wanted to collaborate with the dynamic performer once again. As of now, Suriya, Priyanka Mohan, and Sathyaraj have been confirmed in the cast and the rest of the names are expected to be announced in the coming days.
D Imman will compose the music, while the rest of the technical crew are yet to be known. The shooting of Suriya 40 is expected to begin next month and if things go as per plan, we may expect the film to hit the screens towards the end of this year. Sun Pictures is bankrolling Superstar Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe and it is announced to release on November 4, for this year’s Diwali festival, and having said that, it is unlikely that Suriya 40 will have a Diwali release. Instead, we may expect the movie to release around the Pooja holidays time.
Suriya 40 is touted to be a family-based action entertainer set in a rural backdrop and it is going to be fresh to see Suriya in an out and out rural film after a long time. Suriya is also riding high on the massive success of his recent release, Soorarai Pottru and he would be looking forward to maintaining that momentum with Suriya 40, as well. For now, check out the latest announcement from Sun Pictures here:
Divya Sathyaraj starts the 'Mahilmadhi' movement
By Galatta | 04:28 PM
Legendary actor Sathyaraj’s daughter Divya is a well-known Nutritionist in India. Divya had written a letter to the PMO a few years ago about the malpractices in medicine and the letter had gone viral. She had recently requested the minister of agriculture to aid in direct income support of the small farmers, thus compensating their substantial losses during the lockdown. Divya has started a movement called “Mahilmadhi”. Talking about the movement Divya says “Malnutrition in India stems not just from a lack of food but a lack of nutritious food. Lack of sufficient nutrition in the early years of a child’s life cannot be compensated for later. Indian women too disproportionately suffer the ill effects of poor nutrition. Every second Indian woman suffers from anaemia. At the same time, India wastes an obscene amount of food. For example, it is estimated that 30% of the food served at lavish Indian weddings is wasted. According to UNICEF India, the sad reality is that nearly 38% of Indian children are stunted. This means that owing to poor nutrition, they have not reached their potential height, nor been able to fulfil their cognitive potential. A further 21% have low weight for their height. Malnourished children have low levels of immunity and the ability of an unhealthy population to fight off the effects of deadly pandemics, such as Covid-19, is compromised. The human body’s ability to heal can only function when provided with good nutrition. We at Mahilmadhi Iyakkam strongly believe that hunger is not an issue of charity but of justice. The fact that good health appears to be the privilege of those who can afford it is not acceptable.
Mahilmadhi Iyakkam, is an effort to combat malnutrition among the lower-income group. The purpose of the movement is to identify areas in the city where access and awareness of nutritious food are lacking. Through focused interventions, we hope to improve conditions. Our team’s activities will include promoting awareness on the importance of nutrition as well as distributing hygienic and healthy food free of cost, to those in need. I was looking for a Tamil name for my movement when I came across the name “Mahilmadhi” in ancient Tamil literature, I thought it was perfect. The words can be translated to literally mean a ‘happy mind’ and food, more than anything is a foundation for happiness. The word also encompasses my mother’s name, Maheshwari. Although I am looking at a journey in politics, ‘Mahilmadhi Iyakkam’ is not a political party. This is a movement of volunteers who have come together to help those in need irrespective of caste, creed or religion.”

Divya, also conducts workshops on vitamin deficiency in rural areas, and had also requested the health minister of Tamil Nadu to address iron deficiency anaemia in pregnant women in the state. She recently requested the Minister of Agriculture to aid in direct income support for the small farmers, thus compensating their substantial losses during the lockdown. Divya Sathyaraj has been awarded an honorary doctorate in Nutrition by the International Tamil University, the USA in recognition for her work done in the field of Nutritional therapy.
The convocation ceremony that was supposed to be in held in the United States in the honor of the doctorate awardees has been postponed adhering to the lockdown. “I am truly honored and privileged to be receiving the honorary doctorate from the International Tamil University, USA. This recognition is definitely a motivation. I will be starting a movement for the betterment of health and nutrition in our rural areas. I believe this is the right time, as it is important to boost immunity levels to prevent COVID 19 and other infections” Divya Sathyaraj.
