Many cricket fans are celebrating the victory of Chennai Super Kings in the 2023 Indian Premier League. The match took place yesterday, but was suspended momentarily after the first innings with Gujarat Titans batting, due to rains in Ahmedabad. The 20 overs game was then reduced to 15 and the nail-biting match came to an end with CSK lifting the trophy for the fifth time. Many celebrities were watching the match live in the stadium and many others shared their love for the sport and the team through social media after the win. The song video shared by Santhosh Narayanan shows the director enjoyed the match and is celebrating the win on his own accord with music.

Comedy actor Sathish saw the match live from the stadium and shared pictures of himself with the trophy which was on display and shared it with the caption “We went to Ahmedabad with Confidence & Love and returned with The Cup.” Director Vignesh Shivan shared a picture with Sakshi Singh, wife of one of the most popular Indian cricketers Dhoni, who is also the face of CSK, and their kids from the bleachers. He also shared pics of the fireworks and a heartfelt message about the victory of the team. Aishwarya Rajinikanth was also at the match.

Blockbuster Tamil film composer Santhosh Narayanan has been hard at work over the past couple of years and has several big projects lined up ahead among which the Telugu venture Dasara starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh is set to be launched in theatres on March 30. The hit music director also has the Telugu-Hindi biggie Project K with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, which will come out for Sankranthi 2024. Currently busy with the works on his first tour in Malaysia, Santhosh Narayanan with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, in an exclusive interview to talk about his various projects, including his next big Tamil film with Karthik Subbaraj, Jigarthanda Double X (the sequel to Jigarthanda released in 2014), starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles. 

Speaking about his association with Karthik Subbaraj over the years and their upcoming film, Jigarthanda Double X, Santhosh Narayanan said, "He always says that if we are doing Part Two of anything, we have to be so true to our soul because it is so easy to get carried away with the success and doing something that borderlines on just business or the commercial aspects of it. But, he has always told me that if we do Jigarthanda 2, we have to do it right. Then, he brought me the script (Jigarthanda Double X) and I loved it. And, Lawrence sir can own it. Like, how SJ Suryah sir can own certain roles. This combination was terrific and it has a very wide sound range and it also has the elements from Part One. I'm super excited to be part of this." 

Delving into the music in Jigarthanda Double X, Santhosh Narayanan said, "It will have music from Part One and it will also have a big portion of new music in it." He further revealed that the flavor of the music will be tribal and along the lines with Black Panther. The composer said, "There is a there is a element of fantasy in it. In Black Panther, there is a world. But, then there is some rootedness to it and that is the kind of sound that I want to explore." Santhosh Narayanan also revealed the recording process for the Jigarthanda Double X announcement teaser stating, "In the glimpse that was released, I recorded with a Chennai-based band and they did amazing work with the percussion. There's no click. They just played and I did the whole thing about their music and it brought a new dimension to what I do."

Santhosh Narayanan said "I love the whole fraternity, the Tamil music fraternity is very friendly and we have all worked with each other and there is great love between all composers. I have never thought about this but I wanted to do it. I did not know the statistics of it. I wanted to perform the songs that people love. For example, if Dhee is coming on stage and she is not singing Rowdy Baby. (people are gonna be disappointed)" He then said "It (Rowdy Baby) is the biggest song of Dhee, I have a version of Rowdy Baby that I want to present and I have Asked Yuvan sir, to listen to it. It's amazing...It is true to the original but has some of my/our elements to it."

When asked if Santhosh Narayanan has reworked the song, He said "a little bit but I have not changed too much of the original. For example, Anirudh is an amazing star and there are some songs I have sung for him and I want to present that for the audience and It just a natural reaction to my career. When the interviewer, Baradwaj Rangan, asked about his experience in composing music for web series Faadu. The music composer Santhosh Narayanan said “I have a brief incident that I want to talk about. When I did Vada Chennai. Vetri Maaran Sir played me this whole five-hour movie which looked amazing and it then became a three-hour movie.” The interview said he have been looking forward to watch the five-hour cut of the film. “like It's crazy..." said Santhosh Narayana about the long-version of the film. He added "I saw the whole thing and asked sir (vetri Maaran) if we should we release it as a web series. He was also thinking about it and then it became a 3-hour film. When I look at the five-hour thing, there is so much character development that you can do. you can show where this guy is coming from, and I am a big fan of web series." 

The sensational music composer then revealed that it has been his routine to watch at least one episode of a web-series daily and the latest one that he watched was Farzi. Santhosh Narayanan has grown to be a sought-after music director in South India over the last decade. The critically acclaimed composer began his career in Tamil film Industry with Attakathi and is also associated with Malayalam and Telugu films recently. Be it soothing melodies or Thara local folk beats, Santhosh Narayanan has never failed to deliver hits. In 2022, he was a part of six films including Mahaan, Kadaisi Vivasayi, Gulu Gulu, Bufoon, Anel Meley Pani Thuli and Naai Sekar Returns. Mahaan, one of the biggest OTT releases of 2022, had an album that was on the most played list of many. 

Santhosh Narayanan sometimes gets candid on Twitter and answers some fans. On Sunday, a fan had raised the question to the composer “Which drug has to (be) taken before composing this music?” with a video of a clip from Naan Naan from Vikram starrer movie Mahaan. The director answered candidly saying “Ha Ha no drugs. Literally had this scene playing in loop”, with a GIF of the mass entry scene of 'Thala' Ajith Kumar in Mankatha, pointing to Mankatha’s hit BGM. The background score of the 2011 film Mankatha by Yuvan Shankar Raja was a trending number that was a ringtone of many fans. It’s interesting and positive to see the director reveal he drew inspiration the tune of another well-known music director in the same industry.

The music composer is now busy with multiple projects at hand. The third single from his next Tamil project, Andhagan, was released recently and fans await the release of more songs from the Telugu film Dasara starring Nani. The composer was speculated to have replaced composer Mickey in the big budget sci-fi flick Project K. In Tamil. Karthik Subburaj has roped in Santhosh Narayanan for Jigarthanda 2 starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Surya.

Dasara is an upcoming Telugu action drama film written and directed by debutant filmmaker Srikanth Odela. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under his banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas, the film stars Nani and Keerthy Suresh in leading roles along with Samuthirakani, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Roshan Mathew, Sai Kumar, Zarina Wahab and other in supporting roles. The film also marks Keerthy's second collaboration with the Natural Star after the 2017 romance comedy film Nenu Local. 

It was earlier announced by the film's makers that the first single from the film will be released today (September 3). Today being today, they have kept up their words and released the lyrical video of the song. Titled 'Dhoom Dhaam Dhosthaana', this mass local street song has fast beats, catchy lyrics and great tunes that is bound to make those listening to it put on their dancing shoes and join in on the fun. 

The song has its music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, written by Kasarla Shyam and sung by Rahul Sipligunj, Gotte Kanakavva,Gannora Dasa Laxmi, Palamuru Jangireddy, Narsanna (Nalgonda Gaddar) and Kasarla Shyam. Coming to the film, Nani described Dasara as "pure raw, rustic, and adrenaline-rush of a film."  The shooting for this mass action entertainer been completed by 60 percent.

Set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani in Telangana, Dasara is scheduled for a theatrical release on 30 March 2023. The film is also being planned to be released additionally in multiple dubbed versions including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

Earlier today, Therukural Arivu of 'Enjoy Enjaami' fame publicly broke his silence regarding the song's credit, ownership, and revenue rights. He took to his official Twitter handle and stated how he was the sole writer, singer, composer, and performer of the song while Dhee and Santhosh Narayanan were only part of his team. He spoke against how the credits were being displayed on Spotify and how they sidelined him by not inviting him during the 44th Chess Olympiad where the song was performed by Dhee and singer Kidakuzhi Mariyammal. 

Hours after Arivu's statement, Santhosh Narayanan has come forward with his own contrasting statement to what Arivu had said. The esteemed composer and musician took to his own official Twitter handle to put out a two-page statement on the matter as a response to the post made earlier today by Arivu regarding the credits for the hit song Enjoy Enjaami. Santhosh first addresses how it was his step-daughter Dhee who even came up with the idea of the song. He also mentions how Dhee, Arivu and himself came together to make this for the shared love they had for independent art. He goes on to specify each of their roles and contribution to the making of Enjoy Enjaami and thanks the various inspirations behind the lyrics of the song. He says the whole song was shot in a span of 30 hours with the process being swift, fun and spontaneous. 

He comes to the main subject and further adds that the revenue and ownership of the song was equally shared within the three artists. He says that he has nothing against Arivu as his speech about him at the song's audio launch stands as proof of it. He also says that the reason Arivu was not at the performance at the 44th Chess Olympiad was that the actor was out of the country and was unable to attend due to his ongoing US schedule. He also lauds Arivu and says he is an amazing artist and his favorite song of his being 'Keechey Keechey' from Vetrimaaran's soon-to-be-released-film Anel Mele Panithuli. He concludes his message by saying that he is open to any sort of public or private discussion with anyone who was involved in the song. 

Leading Tamil actor Dhanush is the man of the hour as the superstar has several big films lined up ahead and will next be seen in the highly-anticipated Thiruchitrambalam opening in theatres worldwide on August 18. Directed by Mithran Jawahar and produced by Sun Pictures, the upcoming film billed to be a family entertainer features music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander and the reunion of the composer with Dhanush also marks the first project for the 'DnA' combo after their Thanga Magan in 2015. With the hype for Thiruchitrambalam sky-high ahead of the film's release next month, the makers released the much-awaited fourth single track titled 'Thenmozhi' on streaming on Saturday, July 30. 

Featuring vocals by composer Santhosh Narayanan and lyrics penned by Poet'u Dhanush, 'Thenmozhi' in Thiruchitrambalam is a peppy and foot-tapping love failure song and will surely hit the right chords with the masses. The big wait is coming to an end now for Dhanush's Jagame Thandhiram, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on June 18. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj under S. Sashikanth's Y Not Studios banner and featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan, plans on the mass action gangster drama were first revealed in 2016, with production finally kicking off in 2019. An international gangster film revolving around the immigrant crisis in the United Kingdom, Jagame Thandhiram has Dhanush paired with Aishwarya Lekshmi, followed by Game of Thrones fame James Cosmo as the antagonist, including Joju George, Kalaiyarasan, Sharath Ravi, Sanchana Natarajan, among others in supporting roles. 

One of the most-awaited Dhanush films in recent times, the makers have been promoting Jagame Thandhiram actively over the past few days in light of it's Netflix premiere, with the official tracklist as well now released. Sony Music, the audio label partner for Jagame Thandhiram, has announced that there are a total of 8 songs in the film out of which 3 tracks ('Rakita', 'Bujji' and 'Nethu') are already out, with the fourth single titled 'Aala Ola' set to be released on June 7; the same day the entire album will be unveiled.
