Blockbuster filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga was spotted at Tirumala in Tirupati sporting a new look on Wednesday, March 6. In a video now going viral on social media, we see the hit director wearing a dark blue kurta with a pink scarf in an all bald look after offering his hair to the deity over the smash success of his latest directorial, Animal (2023), which starred Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor and Suresh Oberoi among others.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who has been seen with dense hair and a thick beard since his directorial debut Arjun Reddy (2017), informed media persons gathered at Tirumala that he visits the temple every year, but was late this time around. He further went on to reveal that his next film is Spirit with Telugu superstar Prabhas and will begin shooting for it soon. Sandeep has been on cloud nine since the release of Animal as fans continue to extend their congratulatory messages and wishes over the stupendous results of the action drama film, which raked in over 800 crores at the box office. Despite turning out to be a raging hit, the film also sparked a huge debate on toxic masculinity, violence, and misogyny on social media.

With Animal earning Sandeep Reddy Vanga a massive fan following across the country, the filmmaker will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders for his Spirit with Prabhas. The upcoming film will see the Salaar (2023) star play the role of a police officer, with an announcement poster last year getting fans quite excited. Production designer Suresh Selvarajan, who previously collaborated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga in Animal, hinted last year that Spirit will be bigger in scale than the Ranbir Kapoor film, and the wait is now on among fans to see what the team is going to come out with for them.

And, it's an iconic actor-director combo reuniting after Drishyam 2. So, for us, it's three big films hitting the theatres on the same day for the holiday season. Oh my God, I mean, this for a cinephile, is a dream come true." And, this has genuinely got to be one of the greatest holiday seasons in recent memory. I'm watching all three. I'm for sure watching all three. I'm a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan sir. I absolutely adore the brand of cinema Rajkumar Hirani sir makes. Prashanth Neel, I think, is an iconic filmmaker. Prabhas is one of the biggest stars in the country. 'Salaar': PVR INOX Cinemas breaks silence on Prabhas film's release controversy; says "We would like to clarify that these reports..."

2024-03-07T14:04:00 +05:30 animal director sandeep reddy vanga shaves head at tirupati ahead of prabhas spirit movie shooting - Movie Cinema News

Social media has been abuzz with speculations that film exhibitors were favoring Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki over Prabhas' Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in a few states, with the PVR-INOX Cinemas multiplex chain issuing a clarification on Thursday, December 21. Their statement reads, "We have come across some speculative media reports about the film SALAAR and its release at PVR INOX Cinemas. We would like to clarify that these reports are incorrect, SALAAR is one of the most anticipated films of the year and it's releasing across pan India PVR INOX cinemas on the scheduled release date i.e. 22 December 2023."

Earlier on Wednesday, PVR Pictures CEO Kamal Gianchandani also reacted to the reports about the makers of Salaar refusing to release the Prabhas-starrer in certain PVR INOX outlets. He wrote on X, "Normally, we try to keep Producers related matters to ourself. But this is one of those times for us to share our point of view.  We have come across some absurd internet posts regarding unfair showcasing practices at PVRINOX. No one has greater respect and appreciation for all the Producers releasing their films in our theatres than all of us at PVRINOX. Commercial disagreements is par for the course with big films releasing on the same date. Not the first time. Won’t be the last time. Everything will fall in place soon. Please put these ridiculous theories to bed" (sic)

This latest statement from PVR INOX Cinemas will come as a big relief and assurance for fans across the country, who will be looking to witness Prabhas in action on the big screen in Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire directed by Prashanth Neel. Prabhas' Salaar is coming out tomorrow in theatres worldwide ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays along with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and offers a time for fans to celebrate both films in cinemas.

'Salaar': Prashanth Neel explains the big pressure in recreating the 'KGF' scenes in the Prabhas film, says "We've put in a lot of small moments" (EXCLUSIVE)

Blockbuster Kannada director Prashanth Neel's Salaar starring Telugu superstar Prabhas is all set to take a massive opening in cinemas worldwide starting December 22. The action thriller film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, John Vijay, among others, and is coming out in Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam languages. In that light, Prashanth Neel, who became one of the most sought-after filmmakers in India after the smash success of his KGF films, has opened up in an interview with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, about recreating small moments from the Yash-starrer in Prabhas' Salaar

Speaking about writing scenes catered to specific audiences, Prashanth Neel said, "I'll just give you an example from K.G.F: Chapter 1. After the movie came out and it got its response, many people have come and told me that they loved the bun scene. So, that has nothing to do with scale. It has nothing to do with elevation. The way I see successful directors do it and I try to mimic them is I try to make the small moments in a movie work more than the bigger moments. I think that is what they'll take back with them. And, in Salaar also, we've put in a lot of small moments." He added, "Small moments without all the graphics and all the punch lines and all of those things. That is what we concentrate on doing because we know we'll get our fights right. We'll get our punch dialogues right. The moments in between are the most difficult ones. And, I think that is what is pan-India. It is not the big fights because everybody does brilliant fights and today the audience have become judges and they know that they would have used ropes for this and they would have done that and this." Prashanth Neel further stated, "The thing that they cannot take away from you are the small moments. They cannot judge you with that at all if you get it right. All the movies that I have loved as pan-India movies, I have loved the small moments in them. A lot of people told me in KGF when the mother comes and holds his hand when he's injured, they loved that scene. I tried to recreate a lot of those scenes with Salaar and I tried to make sure that comes out right. That is the pressure on me to get those scenes absolutely right and I think I've got it right with Salaar also."

'Salaar': Is Prabhas film connected to Yash's KGF universe? Prashanth Neel gives a clear and detailed explanation (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Prashanth Neel's next big film, Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, starring Telugu superstar Prabhas, is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release starting December 22. The buzz for the highly-anticipated Telugu epic action thriller has been high right from the get-go, with speculations also doing the rounds since the beginning that the upcoming film could be connected to the blockbuster Kannada filmmaker's KGF franchise starring Kannada star Yash, who has since gone on to become a nationwide sensation. With all eyes set on Salaar to take a stellar start at the box office, director Prashanth Neel sat down for a heart-to-heart conversation with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about whether the Prabhas-starrer has any connection with his KGF universe.

The talk about Salaar and the KGF franchise being connected first began after the teaser of the Prabhas film was released on July 8 at 05:12 a.m., leading to a huge number of theories on social media stating that it was the time when Yash's Rocky bhai died in K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022) story. Opening up on the probability of both the films and their characters existing in the same universe, Prashanth Neel explained, "There's absolutely no connection. I came to the realization that KGF was that big only after all these things happened because I don't exist on the social media platform. I knew KGF had made a lot of money which meant there was so much love, but it turned out to be a frenzy after that. People started comparing it to the tones that I had set in KGF and they started drawing all these theories out. I think this came out a long time before the teaser came out. I think, a couple of years back itself, they said, 'This must be from the universe of KGF'. It was my mistake that I did not come out and say it loud enough. There's no part of Salaar that has a connection with KGF."

Prabhas will want Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire to be accepted on all fronts considering his last three films, Saaho (2019), Radhe Shyam (2022), and Adipurush (2023), received mixed reviews despite turning out to be phenomenal box office successes and the actor will be looking to hit the bullseye this time. "There's nothing beyond sentiments...": Adipurush team makes a sudden new change, a big announcement for Prabhas fans

Telugu superstar Prabhas' Adipurush directed by Om Raut released on June 16 took a staggering opening at the box office but has been highly criticized by audiences and critics alike. With the film drawing negative feedback from moviegoers, the makers have now decided to revise the dialogue, while adding that they did not intend to hurt the sentiments of the audience and expressed their desire to maintain harmony. "There's nothing beyond sentiments of audiences and harmony. Team Adipurush in respect of public opinion, revamps dialogues for unifying public experience (sic)", T-Series said in a statement on Sunday, June 18. Sharing the note, the production giant wrote on Twitter, "We hold immense gratitude for your valuable perspectives and thoughts! Your constant love and support is what keeps us going ❤️ Jai Shri Ram 🙏(sic)".

Controversy erupted after dialogues spoken by Devdatta Nage, the actor playing Bajrang / Lord Hanuman, was said to hurt religious sentiments, with dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla issuing a statement earlier in the day that the few said lines will be revised in Adipurush, which also stars Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh. Shukla, who penned the dialogues and the songs in the Hindi version of the Prabhas-starrer, wrote a detailed statement expressing his feelings at the turn of events since the film's release. He said, "The first lesson one can learn from Ramkatha is to respect every emotion. Right or wrong, time changes, feeling remains. I wrote dialogues of more than 4000 lines in Adipurush, some sentiments got hurt on 5 lines. In those hundreds of lines, where Shri Ram was glorified, Maa Sita's chastity was described, praise was also to be received for her, which I don't know why I did not get. (sic)". He explained, "My own brothers wrote indecent words for me on social media. The same my own, for whose respected mothers I read poems many times on TV, addressed my own mother with indecent words. I kept thinking, there can be differences, but where did my brothers suddenly get so bitter that they forgot to see Shri Ram who considered every mother as his mother. Sitting at the feet of Shabri, as if sitting at the feet of Kaushalya. (sic)"

Shukla continued, "It is possible that in a 3-hour film, I have written something different from your imagination for 3 minutes, but I could not know why you were in such a hurry to write Sanatan-Drohi on my forehead. Have you not heard the song 'Jai Shri Ram', Didn't hear 'Shivoham', Haven't heard 'Ram Siya Ram'? These praises of Sanatan in Adipurush are also born from my pen. I have also written 'Teri Mitti' and 'Desh Mere'. (sic)" He further added, "I have no complaint with you, you were, are and will be my own. If we stand against each other, Sanatan will lose. We have created Adipurush for Sanatan Seva, which you are seeing in large numbers and I am sure you will see in future as well. (sic)"

Concluding his lengthy explanation, Manoj Muntashir Shukla wrote, "Why this post? Because for me there is nothing greater than your feeling. I can give countless arguments in favor of my dialogues, but this will not reduce your pain. Me and the producer-director of the film have decided that some of the dialogues which are hurting you, We'll revise them, and they'll be added to the film this week. May Shri Ram bless you all!  #Adipurush #JaiShreeRam (sic)"

Kanguva actress Disha Patani's big action sequence loading in Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's Project K? New video goes viral

Leading actress Disha Patani has shared a photo of herself on Wednesday from what is believed to be the shooting spot of Telugu superstar Prabhas' sci-fi film, Project K. The picture sees her sitting on a chair on the sets of the film and flashing a victory sign with her back to the camera. Along with the photo, Disha also posted a video of an external field monitor on her Instagram Stories showing the set proceedings, which is strongly believed to be for an action sequence featuring the actress. As of now, not much is known about Project K or Disha's role in the film, but her attire indicates that she will be featured in the action scene.

Being directed by Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin, Prabhas' Project K is a bilingual being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi and is Disha's next big South Indian project after Suriya's Kanguva, which will mark her Tamil cinema debut. The film also stars Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone as the female lead, with details about her role too shrouded in quite a lot of mystery. Legendary Hindi actor Amitabh Bachchan is also a part of the cast of Prabhas' Project K, which is scheduled to be released in cinemas on January 12, 2024, as a grand Sankranthi treat, with reports also stating sometime back that the film might be presented globally in different languages including English.

Being produced under the prestigious Vyjayanthi Movies banner, a major chunk of shooting on Prabhas' Project K featuring music being composed by Santhosh Narayanan has already been completed. Back in February, producer Aswini Dutt in an interview with a Telugu channel, stated, "This will be a graphics-heavy film. It’s been five months since we commenced work on the graphics and it’ll go on through the course of next year as well. We’ve completed about 70 percent of the shoot so far." So far, only a few promotional posters have been released and Prabhas' fans are looking forward to a new big glimpse of the 'Rebel Star' from Project K up ahead.
