Bigg Boss star Mugen Rao who made his acting debut in Tamil cinema with Velan is all geared up for his next. Mugen will be seen playing the lead role in the upcoming romantic drama, Madhil Mel Kaadhal, which is directed by Anjana Ali Khan of Veppam fame. Divya Bharathi, who delivered a striking debut in Tamil cinema with Bachelor plays the female lead in this one. The refreshing duo of Mugen and Divya Bharathi would be supported by an array of talented actors including the likes of Anu Haasan, Kasthuri, Nizhalgal Ravi, Subbu Panchu, Sakshi Agarwal, KPY Bala, Deeps, Pandiyarajan, and others.

Earlier today (April 8), the makers unveiled the official teaser of Madhil Mel Kaadhal which looks quite promising and interestingly done. The teaser introduces us to the lead character played by Mugen Rao and he seems to have done it quite convincingly with his charm. Divya Bharathi leaves a positive impression with her adorable presence and portrayal. From what we see in the teaser, it looks like Madhil Mel Kaadhal will be a breezy feel-good romantic drama mainly targetted towards the youth audience. With a promising set of actors leading from the front, let us hope that the film strikes a chord.

The teaser is also suggestive of a triangular love story angle and we will have to wait for the film's release to get a confirmation. Nivas K Prasanna's background score is one of the major highlights of the teaser of Madhil Mel Kaadhal. Produced by Shirdi Productions, the film has cinematography handled by Goutham George, while Anthony and Suresh Kallery have headed the editing and art direction departments respectively. The shooting of the film has been wrapped up and the makers are currently involved with the post production works which is happening in full swing. The trailer and songs are expected to release in the coming weeks.

Malaysian-born Tamil singer-actor Mugen Rao became a household name across Tamil Nadu after emerging as the winner of Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 in 2019. He was soon announced to be a part of a number of Tamil films, with his debut venture revealed to be the rural family entertainer Velan, which will be hitting screens worldwide on December 31. Directed by Kavin and produced by Kalaimagan Mubarak under the Skyman International Films banner, the film has Tamil-speaking Mugen playing the role of a college youth from a rural backdrop, with the much-awaited Velan trailer getting officially released on Wednesday. 

The Velan trailer starts off with Mugen being introduced as the lovable village youth, who is head over heels in love with a Malayalee girl being played by Meenakshi Govindharajan. Popular YouTuber 'Prankster' Rahul is seen giving him support as his friend, while Brigida Saga of Master fame is appearing in a pivotal role. Likewise, veteran actor Prabhu is playing Mugen's father, while Hareesh Peradi is the antagonist, with Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, Joe Malloori, Billy Murali, Maria Vincent among others forming the supporting cast. The Velan trailer has packaged in all the elements that appeal to fans of commercial cinema and looks to be an entertaining affair in theatres. 

Velan has music scored by Gopi Sundar, with the film's cinematography and editing done by Gopi Jagadeeswaran and Sarathkumar respectively. Considering this is Mugen’s debut in Tamil cinema, fans will be looking forward to witnessing him in action as he became a favorite among the youth and the elderly alike after his stint on Bigg Boss Tamil season 3. Mugen, in the titular role, is full of energy and charm and it is indeed interesting to see him in a full-fledged rural film. The teaser looks colourful and vibrant and has a festive vibe to it. From what we see, Velan promises to be an entertaining commercial family drama. Mugen also garners good attention with his action moves. Prabhu and Soori are the other actors who get prominence in this short teaser. Though the makers haven't revealed anything about the film's premise or story, it is said that Velan will deal with the love story between a Tamil guy (Mugen Rao) and a Malayali woman (Meenakshi Govindarajan) and let us hope that the movie turns out to be an interesting watch.

Velan is expected to release in theatres very soon and an official word on the same is awaited. Suriya released the teaser of Velan through his official social media pages and he wished actor Prabhu and the entire team of Velan for a grand success. The first look poster of Mugen Rao's Velan was unveiled this evening (April 26) and it looks quite promising. The first look poster introduces us to the central characters of the film - Mugen Rao and the female lead, Meenakshi Govindharajan. From what we see, it looks like the film will be a love story between a Tamil guy and a Malayalee girl. The first look poster is also suggestive of the same, as we see a mix of elements related to both Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Mugen looks smart and charming and his fans are surely going to love this look of his. The first look poster was released by Dulquer Salmaan who shared the poster and wished the entire team of Velan for a grand success. Produced by Kalaimagan Mubarak under the banner of Skyman Films International, Velan has music scored by popular Malayalam composer, Gopi Sundar. Gopi Jagadeeswaran has handled the cinematography, while the editing and art direction is taken care of by K Sarathkumar and T Balasubramanian respectively. The shooting of Velan has been completed and the team is currently busy with the post production works.

We will have to wait for a few more days to get clarity on the film's release plans. While Mugen Rao and Meenakshi Govindharajan play the lead roles, the film will also have prominent actors like Prabhu, Soori, and Thambi Ramaiah in supporting roles. Bigg Boss has been a show that has given a solid breakthrough for budding actors and we have seen actors like Harish Kalyan, Raiza Wilson, Kavin, gain momentum in their film career through the show. Let us hope that the same happens for Mugen Rao, as well.

Popular musician Mugen Rao became a household name after the massive success of Bigg Boss Tamil: Season 3. He was the title winner of the third edition of Bigg Boss which was a big hit among the masses. He featured in the show along with the likes of Kavin, Sandy Master, Tharshan, Losliya, Cheran, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Abhirami Venkatachalam, and others. The success of Bigg Boss has now made him a star and he will be venturing into cinema as an actor. His debut flick in Tamil will be directed by Anjana Ali Khan of Veppam fame and it is titled Vettri.

The film will feature former Miss India, Anukreethy Vas as the female lead, while Aadukalam Kishore will be seen in a crucial role. Vettri has got a strong technical team in the form of Nivas K Prasanna (music direction), R Rathnavelu (cinematography), and Anthony (editing). The film is produced by Shirdi Productions and it will be the company's first production in Tamil cinema. 

Even before the completion of his first film, Mugen Rao has already signed his next film and the details regarding the project are out. Being produced  by Skyman Films International’s Kalaimagan Mubarak, this new film is titled Velan and it will be directed by newcomer Kavin Moorthy. The film will have music scored by popular Malayalam composer, Gopi Sundar, and cinematography by Gopi Jagadeeswaran. The film features an interesting star cast that includes Prabhu, Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, and others. Meenakshi Govindharajan will be seen as the female lead. Filming has already begun in Pollachi, with 70% shooting said to be already completed. Details regarding the film's genre and premise are yet to be known.

The grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil: Season 4 will be aired today (January 17) evening from 6 PM and it will be a 6 hour long episode. A lot of surprises have been planned for the audience and the entire social media is already abuzz about it. Popular Malaysian musician Mugen Rao became a household name across Tamil Nadu after participating in the third season of the smash hit Tamil reality TV show, Bigg Boss, hosted by Kamal Haasan. Speaking about the casting of Mugen and Anukreethy in Vettri, director Anjana Ali Khan says, "It’s a dream come true for me to work with a powerhouse team where everyone is passionate and intensely involved in the creative process. Prakash Rao passed away a few days back due to a massive cardiac arrest. Mugen’s fans, followers and well-wishers expressed their grief and condolences over his father’s demise. incident. Following that, Mugen has now shared a very emotional note, expressing his love for his late father and the note has been doing the rounds on social media.

Mugen’s note reads, “If you have heard me sharing the tough part of my life, this is definitely the toughest. The man whom I got my genes, traits, talent, look, skills, and life from. My dad is no longer with us and has departed to the almighty. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all who poured your condolences, concern, care and wishes. Can’t express how deeply grateful I am for all your love and strength. I love you Dad, and will always be your grateful and humble son. Difficult but will soon move on as I’ve got work to accomplish with your blessing.”

Mugen was in Chennai shooting for an ad film and a reality show (Dancing Superstars) in Vijay Television when this incident happened and he had to rush back to Malaysia after hearing about this news. 

Mugen’s Bigg Boss housemate and actress Abhirami Venkatachalam shared her condolence message on her social media platforms. Prakash Rao’s sudden demise must be devastating for Mugen’s family and we express our deepest condolences to them. Let us pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
