National Award-winning Tamil actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram's Thangalaan directed by acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith is gearing up for a massive worldwide theatrical release on January 26, 2024, and preparations are already underway to make it a grand visual feast. The period action drama set amidst the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) backdrop during the pre-Independence era also stars Master (2021) heroine Malavika Mohanan playing a key role, with her character in the film's teaser and promo shown to be quite mysterious. With the post-production works ongoing on Thangalaan, Malavika, on Wednesday, November 29, revealed that she finds dubbing to be the scariest part of the filmmaking process. 

Sharing an elevator selfie, Malavika wrote on X, "Now for the most scary part of the filmmaking process for me..dubbing 🙈 (Can someone please come and hold my hand while I do it please? 🥺) #thangalaan" (sic). The Petta (2019) star, who is playing the character Aarathi in the Pa. Ranjith directorial, is the latest to take part in the upcoming film's post-production works after Mariyan (2013) fame Parvathy Thiruvothu recently completed dubbing for her portions. Malavika's role has evoked quite a lot of interest among fans after the Thangalaan teaser showcased her to be a powerful character alongside Vikram, with the actress expected to appear in several crucial sequences. 

Releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages, Thangalaan featuring music by National Award-winning composer G. V. Prakash Kumar will see 'Chiyaan' Vikram, Parvathy, and Malavika Mohanan sharing screen space with Pasupathy, Harikrishnan Anbudurai, Vettai Muthukumar, Arjun Anbudan, and English actor Daniel Caltagirone, who will be seen as the antagonist. The expectations for the highly-anticipated film skyrocketed after the teaser was released last month giving audiences a glimpse at the massive action in store for audiences in theatres next year. Furthermore, the text in the Thangalaan teaser, "As myth leads to history, greed leads to destruction, as blood wars lead to liberty, rises the son of gold", hinted at Vikram's character, while also shedding light on what the film is going to be. 

Leading actress Malavika Mohanan has revealed that the biggest challenge she faces in her role in National Award-winning actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram's Thangalaan is the time she has to sit down for makeup and costumes. Sharing photos from the sets of the upcoming film on Instagram, the Master heroine said, "When you’re playing a character which needs 4-5 hours of makeup & costume time daily(sitting still for that long has been the biggest challenge, yes😅), most of the BTS photos on your camera roll tend to be these 🌝 #Thangalaan ♥️ (sic)". 

Malavika is playing a key role in Vikram's Thangalaan being directed by acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith, with her look in the film revealed in 2022 when the first official glimpse of the film was released. The youth sensation was shown sporting a tribal look alongside Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu, who too is cast in a key role. Based on Malavika's latest statement, one can assume that her character will have a crucial role to play in Thangalaan, with the film's shooting currently said to be in the final stages.

Produced by Studio Green's K E Gnanavel Raja and Ranjith's Neelam Productions, Thangalaan will feature music composed by the National Award winner G. V. Prakash Kumar and expectations are huge for him to come out firing on all cylinders with the songs and the background score. The film is set in the pre-Independence era in the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka and Vikram has once again undergone a radical physical transformation for his role, with a special video released on his birthday in April giving audiences a glimpse into the rigorous work he has put in. Likewise, Pa. Ranjith and the entire team have also been showered with praise for the grand scope in which Thangalaan is being made and fans will no doubt look forward to witnessing the action on the big screen when the film opens in cinemas in 2024.

Actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram sustained an broken rib during rehearsals. And now, Malavika Mohanan has revealed that the shooting will only being after he has recovered. When a fan asked about her experience working with the versatile actor Vikram the actress said “Now, that I look back I cannot possibly imagine going through the arduous journey without Vikram sir”. Malavika Mohanan made her acting debut in Malayalam in the 2013 film Pattam Pole opposite Dulquer Salmaan, but became a national sensation after she was introduced to audiences in Hindi in acclaimed filmmaker Majid Majidi's Beyond the Clouds in 2017. She landed a role in Malayalam once again in Mammootty's The Great Father before making a major appearance in Rajinikanth's 2019 blockbuster Petta in Tamil. A film announcement that left fans both surprised and ecstatic, the tentatively titled D43, starring Dhanush in the lead role under Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Mafia director Karthick Naren's direction is being produced by the reputed Sathya Jyothi Films. Announced initially to be coming out in theatres as an October release this year, the production on D43 had not begun as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, which brought a complete halt to all film proceedings across the country over the past few months. The upcoming Sathya Jyothi Films venture is the production banner's third film with Dhanush after Thodari and Pattas, with another project under Ratsasan director Ramkumar as well currently in the pipeline.
