The wait has ended as the much-awaited Singapore Saloon trailer is now out and looks to be an entertaining affair. Directed by Gokul of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (2013) fame, the upcoming film releasing in theatres on January 25 also stars Sathyaraj, Lal, 'Thalaivasal' Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ann Sheetal, Kishen Das, John Vijay, Chinni Jayanth and Robo Shankar, among others in key roles, while blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and Jiiva will be seen making cameo appearances as has been revealed in the trailer out now. 

The Singapore Saloon trailer starts off showing a young RJ Balaji idolizing his uncle, a barber in their village, who is played by veteran Malayalam actor Lal. We then see RJ Balaji grown up and rejecting his campus placement offer after completing his graduation as an engineer in the hopes of becoming a hairstylist and starting his own saloon called Singapore Saloon. We witness RJ Balaji's journey to becoming a hairstylist while falling in love with Ann Sheetal, who rejects his proposal for marriage, after which he befriends Meenakshi Chaudhary. 

Singapore Saloon also has to its strength its additional cast that includes Sathyaraj, who once again is expected to deliver the laughs, while actors 'Thalaivasal' Vijay, Robo Shankar, and Kishen Das as RJ Balaji's friend will add to the fun and drama. The crux of the plot as hinted in the trailer revolves primarily around how success is never an option, but a definite must for RJ Balaji and also surprises viewers with cameos by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Jiiva. There is quite a lot of buzz surrounding Singapore Saloon and the visuals in the trailer shows that audiences are in for a solid entertainer in theatres when the film opens worldwide next week.

Superstar Rajinikanth is someone who never fails to appreciate talented artists and their works and his latest tweet is a reflection of the same. Taking to his official Twitter page, Rajinikanth expressed his liking towards the latest Hindi film, 83 which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Rajinikanth called 83 to be a magnificent film and shared his heartfelt congratulations to the makers. Rajinikanth's appreciation tweet read, "#83TheMovie wow 👏🏻👏🏻 what a movie… magnificent!!! 83 which released last Friday, has opened to an overwhelming response from the fans and it is performing really well at the multiplex centres. The appreciation tweet from Rajinikanth must have come as a big boost for the team of 83. 83 is based on the Indian cricket team's journey in the 1983 World Cup in which the team emerged as the Champions. 83 is directed by Kabir Khan and has Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin in pivotal roles. Ranveer Singh essays the role of Indian cricketing legend Kapil Dev, while Jiiva plays Krishnamachari Srikkanth. 83 has managed to strike a chord with the masses and the audiences are seen coming out of the theatres with happy tears.

Talking about Superstar Rajinikanth's professional front, the legendary actor was last seen in Annaatthe which released in theatres on November 4 for the festive occasion of Diwali, opening to mixed reviews from the critics and general audience. An official announcement on Rajinikanth's next film is yet to be made and several talented directors including the likes of Desingh Periyasamy, Karthik Subbaraj, Siva, Venkat Prabhu, Nelson Dilipkumar, are said to be in contention to helm the project. Leading Tamil hero Jiiva has carved a niche for himself over the years as a credible performer and will next be joining hands with popular comedy actor 'Mirchi' Shiva of the Chennai 600028 franchise fame for a new film titled Golmaal, which was launched on Sunday. The duo will be sharing screen space once again after the blockbuster success of Sundar. C's Kalakalappu 2 in 2018 and the upcoming Golmaal being produced Vinod Jain and Naresh Jain's Jaguar Studios will be directed by Pon Kumaran, who is known for penning the story and dialogues in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Lingaa. 

Golmaal will see Jiiva and Shiva paired opposite popular South Indian actresses Payal Rajput and Tanya Hope, who have become a huge sensation among the youth over the past couple of years. The film was launched with the main cast and crew addressing media persons during a formal press meet today, which also saw veteran producer RB Choudhary, Dr. G. Dhananjayan, composer turned actor Vijay Antony, actors Manobala, George, Subbu Panchu, Aadukalam Naren, singer Mano, actress Sonia Aggarwal, Kannada composer Sadhu Kokila as well gracing the event.

Outside of his work on Rajinikanth's Lingaa as the dialogue and story writer, Pon Kumaran has already established himself as a filmmaker in the Kannada film industry. During the Golmaal press meet, it was announced that the film will be shot in a single schedule completely in Mauritius. Talking about the film, Pon Kumaran revealed that he decided to make a direct Tamil project during the pandemic and initially planned to do a horror comedy, but was convinced by the producers to go forward with a full-length comedy venture. He revealed that Jiiva and Shiva were his first choices for Golmaal and the duo have helped him in developing the script as well. Jiiva stated that he is happy to associate with Shiva once again after they first bonded from street cricket to the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) and then in Kalakalappu 2. He added that the upcoming Golmaal has the potential to be made as a franchise, with Shiva as well extending his hope for sequels. 

Kalathil Sandhippom is an upcoming Tamil multistarrer film that features Jiiva and Arulnithi as the lead heroes. This friendship-based action drama has Priya Bhavani Shankar and Manjima Mohan as the female leads and we can expect these four leads to light up the screen with their screen presence and performances. The makers have now released a new song from the film as a single and this song is called, 'Friendship Paattu'. Ace composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed this song which has vocals lent by Jithinraj and lyrics penned by Viveka. As the title suggests, this song talks about the friendship between Jiiva and Arulnithi and the lyrics depict their relationship beautifully.

Their friendship is going to be the core anchor of the film and it looks like the Tamil audience are going to witness a friendship-based film after a very long time. 'Friendship Paattu' has opened to a good response from the initial listeners and we will have to wait for a few more days to know the real success of the song. The lyric video of the song has been released on the official YouTube channel of Saregama Tamil who owns the film's audio rights.

The teaser of the film was released a few weeks before and it got a good reception from the fans. The teaser gave the audience a glimpse of what they can expect from the film. Kalathil Sandhippom seems to be packed with a good mix of all commercial elements, catering to all kinds of audience. Kalathil Sandhippom is produced by renowned Tamil producer RB Choudary who has bankrolled the film under the banner of Super Good Films. N Rajasekar has directed this film that has cinematography by Abinanthan Ramanujam, editing by Dinesh Ponraj, dialogues by Ashok and art direction by MG Murugan.

Sports films have always enjoyed a universal fan base and the next in the genre in Tamil is the upcoming Jiiva and Arulnithi Tamilarasu multi-starrer, Kalathil Santhippom, which has been produced by RB Choudhary. Directed by N Rajasekar, the sports action drama centred around Kabbadi is the veteran producer's 90th venture under his Super Good Films banner and is gearing up for a theatrical release soon. With the production on Kalathil Santhippom already completed, the makers have now released an intense and action-packed exhilarating teaser, which has the two lead stars battling it out on the Kabaddi court. 

Kalathil Santhippom also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, who has been paired opposite Arulnithi, while Manjima Mohan will be seen as Jiiva's ladylove, with Robo Shankar, Renuka, Bala Saravanan, Sri Ranjani, Ilavarasu, Marimuthu, 'Boologam' Rajesh and Benito among others cast in vital supporting roles. A pukka commercial entertainer, the film revolves around the relationship between two friends, with Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the music. 

Based on the teaser for Kalathil Santhippom, we can expect plenty of action, comedy, love and twists to satisfy audiences in all age groups. R Ashok has written the dialogues for the film, which also has lyrics penned by Pa Vijay and Viveka. Cinematography for the film has been done by Abinandhan Ramanujam, with Dinesh Ponraj working as the editor. Production on the film was carried out across locations in Chennai, Thenkasi and Karaikudi. 

Considering Kalathil Santhippom revolves around the sport of Kabaddi, we can expect many intense moments in the film. Jiiva, who was seen in Seeru and Gypsy earlier this year, will be looking to hit the bullseye with the upcoming film, while Arulnithi too will be looking forward to make a mark yet again since his previous release was the psychological mystery action thriller, K-13, released last year. As the film's plot mainly involves friendship between two people and popular Indian sport, it is safe to assume that there will be an audience who will come watch it once theatres are reopened. Films like 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Ghilli and Vishnu Vishal's Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu included elements of Kabaddi and received a positive response from fans upon their releases.

Popular lyricist Pa Vijay turned director with the film, Strawberry, that garnered decent reviews from the general audience. He later made his second film, Aaruthra, which got a mixed reception. Following that, the acclaimed lyricist is now all set for his third directorial film and this one will be an exciting multi-starrer. Action King Arjun and Jiiva will be seen playing the lead roles in this new film which is titled Methavi (aka Medhavi). Raashi Khanna has been announced as the female lead.

The supporting cast of the film includes Radharavi, Y.G.Mahendran, Rohini, Azhagam Perumal, KPY Dheena, Sha Ra and others. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for this horror thriller, while Deepak Kumar Padhy and San Lokesh will be taking care of the cinematography and editing departments respectively. The film’s shooting will begin once things get better and normal outside.

Methavi will be produced by S.Raja under the banner of Makkal Arasan Pictures and today (May 15) being his birthday, the announcement about the film has been made. Be it the film's trailer, two teasers and the number of promos that have been released, the reception for the marketing surrounding Gypsy has been consistent.

Gypsy is all set to hit the screens tomorrow on the 6th of March. Natasha Singh plays the female lead in Gypsy, which would mark the Kollywood debut for Mollywood stars Sunny Wayne and Lal Jose. 
 
Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music for Gypsy, which has cinematography by Selvakumar SK and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta! Reportedly, Jiiva learnt to play the guitar for this movie and also learnt horse riding for his role. There were initial speculations that this movie would be a social drama but Twitter reviews from press show states that it would be a romantic travel story with a social angle. Now, a censored scene, which will not be featured in Gypsy's theatrical version with Jiiva going up against the police, has been released with the film also featuring actress Natasha Singh, who is making her Tamil cinema debut.

Jiiva's Gypsy also has a short official synopsis which reads as follows: "A young man who travels across India and learns about the issues connected to nation-wide politics along his way and decides to do something about it".
