Earlier this week, there were reports that the Court issued a non-bailable warrant against director Shankar. It was also rumoured by a section of media that the acclaimed filmmaker might be in legal trouble. This case was in connection with the plagiarism allegation against director Shankar. A short story writer named Arur Tamil Nandan filed a petition against Shankar claiming that the story of Enthiran (starring Superstar Rajinikanth) was his story. Tamil Nandan alleged that Enthiran was a copy of his story. Following the recent rumours claiming that a non-bailable warrant was issued against him, director Shankar has now reacted to the controversy.

The ace filmmaker has issued a press statement, denying the allegations against him. He has made it clear that no warrant has been issued against him. Shankar's official statement read, "I was shocked to see the false news that a non-bailable warrant has been issued against me by the Hon'ble Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore. My advocate, Mr Sai Kumaran has approached the Hon'ble Court today and brought this to the the Court's attention. The learned judge was pleasant to immediately confirm that no warrant has been issued against me. The reference to any warrant has apparently occurred due to a glitch in the online court reporting, which is presently being corrected. I am very surprised to see such false news being circulated without any verification, and the same has caused needless anguish to my family and well-wishers. I request this clarification will be carried by all media to ensure that such false news does not spread any further,".

This immediate clarification from director Shankar has now put an end to all the confusions and speculations regarding the case. Further details are awaited. On the professional front, director Shankar's next movie will be Indian 2 which features Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in the lead role. Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Vivekh, Nedumudi Venu are also a part of the film's star cast. The new schedule of Indian 2 is expected to begin very soon and we hear that director Shankar is busily planning the upcoming schedules.

There are also rumours that suggest that director Shankar is planning a pan-Indian film with Chiyaan Vikram, KGF star Yash, and Ram Charan or Jr NTR. Sarileru Neekevvaru is an upcoming, 26th movie in Mahesh Babu's career, that will be releasing on Sankranthi, 2020. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Mahaesh Babu will be seen playing the role of an army major, going by the name of Major Ajay Krishna. Earlier it was announced by the director that the first schedule is underway at Kashmir and the movie will have Devi Sri Prasad's music. And now, another update has been unveiled by Anil Ravipudi that "Enthiran" DOP Rathnavelu will be handling the cinematography of this movie. Mahesh Babu has earlier worked with Rathnavelu on movies like 1: Nenokkadine and Brahmostavam. Rashmika Mandanna will be playing the female lead in the movie. Ramya Krishnan and Vijayashanthi will be seen in supportive roles. Sarileru Neekevvaru is bankrolled by Sri Venkateswara creations, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment and AK Entertainments.

Rumors have been doing rounds on the internet that after the Kashmir schedule, the crew will be heading to Hyderabad to film a few romantic scenes.

Having received lots of criticisms on the diversity of the jury members, The Academy has decided to put a rest to it. The Academy Awards is a widely celebrated event, hosted by Hollywood film industry which has fans following keenly, worldwide. The world woke up to the announcement of the jury members and the recent member to join this elite jury club is Tamil cinema's Srinivas Mohan. He has been the visual effects supervisor of hugely bankrolled movies like Shankar's Enthiran,  I, 2.0 and SS Rajamouli's epic fantasy, Baahubali series.

Srinivasa Mohan, who has been predominantly working in Tamil and Telugu film industries, will be a part of the jury in the visual effects category. Beginning his career as a Digital Compositor in the films like Indian, Jeans etc, Srinivas Mohan has bagged National awards for the Hindi film Magic Magic 3D, Sivaji and Enthiran in Tamil and Baahubali: The beginning. He is also the founder and CEO of the Indian Artists Computer Graphics.

Apart from Srinivas Mohan, filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akthar and Ritesh Batra, VFX artist Sherry Bharda and actor Anupam Kher are also invited to be the jury.

We had last week reported composer Santhosh Narayanan had begun work on 'Superstar' Rajinikanth’s introduction song in the upcoming biggie, Kaala, slated to hit screens on April 27.

In the midst of this, the popular music director had taken to his Twitter page last week to implement fans’ suggestions on the kind of style and sound they would want to include for Rajinikanth’s intro song in Kaala.

That said, it seems now a song has been recorded with popular singer Vijay Prakash. Although it is unknown at this point if he has indeed sung the intro song in Kaala, their association has everybody quite excited.

It must be noted Vijay Prakash had previously sung the hit "Kadhal Anukkal" song from the blockbuster hit film, Enthiran.

As known already Santhosh Narayanan had sometime back also stated he had begun the background score work on Kaala and that the final output would be delivered to director Pa. Ranjith towards the end of this month.

Being produced under Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films banner, Kaala has Huma Qureshi as the female lead alongside Nana Patekar as the antagonist followed by Samuthirakani, Sukanya, Anjali Patil, Easwari Rao, Aravind Akash, Sakshi Agarwal among others in supporting roles.

All eyes are now on Shankar's magnum opus Enthiran 2 aka 2.0 with Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar. Sources say that makers Lyca has pitched in an unlimited budget for the film. The first schedule of the film with Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson was wrapped up recenty. The second schedule is likely to begin in March and Akshay Kumar too will join the sets.

Two big budget magnum opus, Baahubali 2 and Enthiran 2, has an interesting connect. Both the sequels, which is expected to be a visual extravaganza, went on floors at the same time. While Superstar's Enthiran 2 officially had its pooja yesterday, Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 is beginning its shoot at Ramoji Film City today.

Another interesting fact is that both the film are expected to grace the theatres by 2017. Though the sequel of Baahubali was promised for 2016, due to the delay in pre-production works the release has been postponed now.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether two of India's biggest blockbusters are pitted against each other at the box office too.

And the cat is out of the basket now. In a press release issued by Enthiran 2 makers, it has now been confirmed that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will play the baddie in Superstar Rajinikanth's Enthiran 2. Directed by Shankar, the film has Amy Jackson as the leading lady. The official pooja was held in Chennai today. The rew also includes AR Rahman, Nirav Shah, Muthuraj, Anthony, Rasool Pookutty, and VFX Supervisor Srinvas Mohan. For the first time, writer Jayamohan will pen the dialouges.

After Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, director Shankar is reportedly considering Amitabh Bachchan's name for an important role in Enthiran 2. We also hear that the director is in talks with Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the antagonist against Superstar Rajinikanth. However, it is still unknown for which role Big B is being considered. Produced by Lyca, Amy Jackson plays the leading lady for this sci-fi thriller.

We have already reported that director Shankar is in talks with Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger to play a key role in Enthiran 2, which will have Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. The ace director has now confirmed the same to a leading English daily, "Arnold and I discuss a lot of Indian movies. He attended the audio launch of my Vikram starrer, I, and told me that he wanted to work in Tamil films. He was impressed with the storyline of Enthiran 2 and agreed to be a part of the film." Reportedly, the Hollywood actor will be in India for 25 days for the shoot.

Enthiran 2 will be shot in 3D and also will be using motion-capture technology for certain scenes. Shankar is rumoured to have signed Amy Jackson for the leading lady. To be produced by Lyca International, the film is likely to go on floors next year post the release of Kabali.
