It was an evening of grand celebrations on November 30 as the biggest names in cinema and entertainment graced the Galatta Wonder Women Awards 2023 held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Among the leading names under the spotlight was leading South Indian actress Krithi Shetty, who was awarded the 'Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema' award by Priya Atlee. Expressing her happiness after winning the big accolade at the Galatta Wonder Women Awards 2023, the popular Telugu star said, "First of all, greetings to everyone, and thank you so much. You all have welcomed me in such a sweet and warm manner. It's really nice to be here. I feel so happy. And, this award is really special because this is the 'Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema' award. I've always really wanted to impact people's lives positively and I've been able to connect with the youth. So, it's really special to me, and thank you so much Galatta. Thank you so much Priya ma'am for presenting this award." 

A trending meme was also shown to Krithi Shetty during the proceedings at the Galatta Wonder Women Awards 2023 which had her paired with Tamil superstar 'Thalapathy' Vijay. Reacting to the meme, the Uppena actress said, "I think I started this manifestation. I'm the original one who started this manifestation. To be honest, I think I saw it one day on Twitter and I was like, 'How did this come up?' Because it was beautiful when it came up. I was just thinking about it then. So, I started this, I think. But, it'll be beautiful and the most special thing if it happens." 

Krithi Shetty also revealed that should probably get a commission for the success of the 'Bullet Song' in The Warriorr before joining leading Tamil actor Dhruv Vikram for a special dance performance at the Galatta Wonder Women Awards 2023. The Custody actress also stressed the message of drug abuse and said, "I went to two important events this year. One was to spread awareness and say 'No to drugs', which was for the youth. And, the other event was to support kids who are battling cancer. So, in the second event, I heard about the struggles that the little kids are facing to fight cancer. At that time, when I was thinking about the people who were throwing their lives away and doing drugs, I felt so bad. Because, in this world, there are people who give respect and importance to their lives, which should inspire all of us. They are facing huge struggles. We should be happy to exist and impact other people's lives with positivity and be kind to everyone."

Among the leading names to have graced the star-studded gala event was youth sensation and actor Dhruv Vikram, who was honored with the 'Heartthrob of Tamil Cinema' award. Receiving the 'Heartthrob of Tamil Cinema' award at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023 from blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Atlee, Dhruv expressed his gratitude to fans and started his speech by saying, "I want to thank you all for your support and your love as it motivates me. And, Galatta, I didn't expect such an award. It's very sweet. Thank you. I would also like to thank Atlee sir at this time because he's become a director who made the entire world look at us. And, to receive this award from him, is a motivation for an actor like me. This also reminds me that I need to work a lot more and I feel that you all must feel proud about me when you think about me. I'm ready to do anything to deserve this type of love. It's a big honor being here. Kundavai (Trisha Krishnan) is also here. I'm a big fan." 

Dhruv Vikram also opened up about his upcoming project saying, "I'm doing a film next with Mari Selvaraj sir. I have been practicing Kabbadi for the last six months. It's a biopic based on a kabbadi player named Manathi Ganesan. I've been preparing for that and the film be released soon. I hope you all like it." Revealing that his father 'Chiyaan' Vikram was the one who told him that he was going to receive 'Heartthrob of Tamil Cinema' award, Dhruv stated, "I didn't expect to be chosen for this honor. I don't know whether I'm a heart-throb, but I wish to steal the hearts of the fans and the technicians who are here now. I wish to work even more." 

With the Galatta Wonder Women Awards 2023 also taking place on the same evening at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards stage, Dhruv Vikram spoke about his mother Shailaja Balakrishnan, and his sister Akshita. He said, "Many people might think that we're a film family, but right from my childhood days, my mother, my sister, and myself have maintained a distance from the industry. I'm experiencing all this after coming to cinema. They are still enjoying it all from a distance. So, without their support, it wouldn't be possible for me to come here. I'm sure every man has women like them to motivate them. I want to thank my father and my mother for creating my heart." 

The evening also had a special surprise in store for Dhruv Vikram as a photo frame featuring a painting of himself alongside his father Vikram was presented as a token of love and appreciation. The 'Heartthrob of Tamil Cinema' award winner also treated the fans to a special performance by singing the smash hit song 'Kanave Kanave' from his father's film, David (2013). Talking about his beloved father Vikram, Dhruv said, "He's the reason why I'm standing here. I'll need to do more work to carry forward the legacy of his name and I hope to one day make it as big as him." Upon being shown a meme in which he appears to be collaborating in the future with 'Thalapathy' Vijay's son Jason Sanjay directing their film, with Aditi Shankar playing the female lead, and Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, the Mahaan star said, "They're all family friends and I've known them since childhood. When we recently met, we didn't discuss cinema. But, if an opportunity like this comes my way, it will be nice and interesting."

Filmmaker Mari Selvaraj has established himself as a powerhouse name in Tamil cinema after his films Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021) received acclaim from fans and critics, while also becoming huge successes at the box office. Currently busy with the post-production works of his upcoming film, Maamannan, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead role, the hit director attended a special event organized by actor Dhanush's fans in Chennai where he addressed the press and shared exciting details about his sports venture with Dhruv Vikram. 

Dhruv Vikram's film with Mari Selvaraj announced in 2021 had been revealed to be a sports venture revolving around the sport of kabaddi. The news of the duo teaming up had created tremendous buzz among fans, with photos of the Adithya Varma actor along with the filmmaker during training for his role taking social media by storm. Speaking to media persons about his film with Dhruv Vikram, Mari Selvaraj said, "It's about an Indian kabbadi player who goes by the name of Manathi P. Ganesan. He's an Arjuna Awardee and the film is a biopic about him. He's my relative and very close to me. It has been my wish for a long time to make his story into a film and fix his career."

Mari Selvaraj has also revealed that he will begin shooting his film with Dhruv Vikram soon after he completes work on Udhayanidhi Stalin's Maamannan. He had also informed that he will commence shooting for his newly-announced film with Dhanush after wrapping up the Dhruv Vikram venture, which is expected to roll into production in the months ahead. Mari Selvaraj has his hands full with his film lineup and there will be plenty of excitement for the Dhruv Vikram-starrer considering many are looking forward to witness him in action on the big screen once again after his thunderous performance in Adithya Varma.

Dhruv Vikram, son of National Award-winning actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram, announced his entry into the independent music space by launching his own YouTube channel on Monday, August 15. In the video titled "Dreams | Kanavugazh", the young heart-throb expressed his love for acting and music and said, "I've always dreamt a lot. During my childhood, I dreamed about becoming an actor. A performer, a musician, and a filmmaker, I dreamt a lot about becoming a rockstar. But, dreaming about this gave me huge happiness because I feared a lot to put my thoughts into action. I felt my dreams were enough. I wasn't interested much in sports back during my school days. Me being a class topper? No chance at all. My mother would enroll me in all the classes so that I would develop an interest in any activity. Swimming, football, basketball, badminton, shloka class, computer class. You think about any class and I'd have been there. I would often be lost in my thoughts, but never was I ever sure about being passionate about any of these activities. I would instead watch films, pick up my camera and roam around on the streets, play random tunes on the keyboard, sing my own tunes while bathing, and enact the characters and scenes in my imagination when I'm alone." 

Speaking about his passions in life, Dhruv added, "I was hesitant and had a fear to tell everyone that I too wanted to be a part of dad's legacy. The level of excitement I had in wanting to become an actor was also torture because nobody would accept me as an actor if I revealed that. And, the bigger fear I had was ending up believing it. Actually, at one point, I began believing it. But, I had the determination to create something. I didn't understand why I had so much love for art, but I yearned a lot to understand and express that. For example, in music, during my formative years, Rahman sir, Harris sir, and more recently, Anirudh, Santhosh Narayanan, Yuvan, and G. V. Prakash, were the people who were there for me. I would associate many of my memories with them at any party or on a throwback album. Every sunset I've witnessed at my Besant Nagar home, every bus ride back home in my school bus, holidays, work trips, my high school crushes, and my college days, when I look back at all these memories and moments, specific tunes come to my mind." 

Dhruv further said, "The songs at the time created an important vibe in me. They were immersed deeply in my human experiences. I can still feel the energy of those songs during my childhood in the air even now. After posing with a guitar for many years, dad handed it to me in 2018 and asked me to teach him a few chords, which I did. And, after watching a few YouTube tutorials and practicing, I really began to enjoy it. Now, I'm no big expert, but at times when I strum the chords to my favorite songs or when I try composing in a vibe, I can still experience the magic that I felt during my childhood and my past. I don't know how to explain that feeling. Rather than speaking about it, I'll show it to you all. The stories my heart longs to tell, songs, I wish to say that here on my YouTube channel. From my point of view, my heart, and my soul, at your screens. I believe you will understand me. See you soon."

On the acting front, Dhruv Viram became a huge sensation among the youth after his explosive acting debut in Adithya Varma. With his electrifying performance earning him rave reviews from fans and critics and the film turning out to be a blockbuster, the star performer left everyone impressed once again and this time alongside his father Vikram in Mahaan under Karthik Subbaraj's direction earlier this year. Dhruv, who played the role of a cop in the action thriller, stood tall in his action-packed performance and is currently preparing hard for his next big film with acclaimed filmmaker Mari Selvaraj of Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan fame.

Chiyaan Vikram has several exciting projects in his pipeline and one among those happens to be Mahaan in which he will seen sharing screen space with his son, Dhruv Vikram, for the very first time. The combination of Vikram and Dhruv is going to be the main USP of Mahaan which is currently in the post-production stages. The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj whose last release was the Dhanush starrer Jagame Thandhiram. Produced by Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studios, Mahaan has music scored by Santhosh Narayanan.

Earlier today (December 3), director Karthik Subbaraj took to his official Twitter page to share an exciting update on Mahaan and he shared the update through a picture that has now gone viral among the fans on social media. Both Vikram and Dhruv Vikram have completed dubbing for their respective portions in Mahaan and Karthik Subbaraj updated on this development through a tweet. Sharing a picture of Vikram and Dhruv smiling at each other at the dubbing suite, Karthik Subbaraj tweeted, "#Mahaan Dubbing Done #ChiyaanVikram #DhruvVikram".

It is indeed good to know that both the lead actors have completed dubbing for Mahaan as this means that the film is inching closer towards its release. According to reports, Mahaan is expected to release in early 2022 and a formal announcement on the same is awaited. Mahaan features Simran and Vani Bhojan as the female leads and both of them are said to have strong characters in this film. Bobby Simha, Sananth, Deepak Paramesh, Muthukumar, and others play supporting roles in this film which has got huge expectations among the fans. Mahaan has cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Vivek Harshan.

National Award-winning actor Vikram's next film, the tentatively titled Chiyaan 60, being directed by Karthik Subbaraj is one project that has had fans everywhere excited right from the moment it went on floors last year. Chiyaan 60 will see Vikram sharing screen space with his son, Dhruv, who himself has become a sensation after his thunderous performance in 2019's Adithya Varma, with the upcoming gangster action drama being produced under Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios banner. Apart from the father-son duo, which is the USP of the film, there are a number of other notable big talents on board the venture, including popular actress Vani Bhojan. 

Chiyaan 60, which has Vani Bhojan as one of the female leads alongside superstar actress Simran, had in a recent interview with Galatta revealed a few details on the progress of the film. During the promotions of her upcoming film, Malaysia to Amnesia, a ZEE5 OTT release, Vani went on to say that she has only 3-4 days of her portions in Chiyaan 60 that she needs to shoot, which would have been completed had it not been for the lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic. She went on to praise both Vikram and Dhruv and recollected the working experience saying she feels happy to be working on the sets of such a big film.

Currently one of the biggest films in production, Chiyaan 60 also has director Karthik Subbaraj's frequent collaborator composer Santhosh Narayanan, who is expected to once again churn out hit tunes as he has in the past in each of their films. Apart from Vikram, Dhruv, Simran and Vani Bhojan, the film also includes a talented supporting cast featuring names like Bobby Simha, Sananth, Muthukumar, Deepak Paramesh, with cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna of Jil Jung Juk fame and editing by Vivek Harshan, who is a regular member of Karthik Subbaraj's team.

Dhruv Vikram will be teaming up with the highly talented and critically acclaimed filmmaker, Mari Selvaraj for his next outing and the official announcement regarding the project was made last night (December 31). Dhruv posted a picture with Mari Selvaraj on his official Instagram page and captioned, “So grateful and happy to be working on my next with the Ace filmmaker Mari Selvaraj sir 🙏🏻 Truly blessed. @mariselvaraj84,”. The news has created a huge buzz on social media and it looks like an exciting project is on cards. The fans got to witness the strong performer inside Dhruv Vikram in his debut flick, Adithya Varma, and it is refreshing to see him team up with promising filmmakers like Karthik Subbaraj (Chiyaan 60) and Mari Selvaraj.

Dhruv’s film with Mari Selvaraj is yet to be titled. According to reports, this will be a sports based drama film and it is expected to be produced by Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions. More details regarding the project are awaited. Mari Selvaraj is currently busy with the post production works of his second film, Karnan that features Dhanush in the lead role. After the release of Karnan, Mari Selvaraj will begin work on his film with Dhruv. The refreshing combination has already made the fans look forward to the movie and let us hope that it turns out to be a memorable outing for the young star. Dhruv will also be acting as one of the leads in his father, Chiyaan Vikram’s next directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Tentatively titled as Chiyaan 60, this action gangster film will be produced by Lalit Kumar’s 7 Screen Studios. The highly talented ace actor’s new picture revealing his physical transformation has taken everyone by surprise and is doing great rounds on social media. In this monochromatic picture, we see Chiyaan Vikram beefed up and flaunting his chiselled body. We also see him sporting a thick beard. The new makeover definitely looks exciting and it is believed that this look will be for Chiyaan 60, which is to be directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

Dhruv Vikram shared this picture on his official Instagram page and it has gone viral among the fans. Interestingly, Dhruv Vikram is also undergoing intense training for his character in Chiyaan 60 and he also posted a picture of his beefed up look. The father - son duo will be seen sharing screen space together for the first time in Chiyaan 60 and hence the expectations are huge among film buffs.

Produced by Lalit Kumar’s 7 Screen Studios, Chiyaan 60 will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna. Chiyaan 60 will be an intense gangster film that will be high on action and emotions. Chiyaan and Dhruv seem to be using this lockdown period to get ready for their respective characters in this film and the new pictures have indeed made the fans happy.

Apart from Chiyaan 60, Vikram is also acting in Cobra, which is 60% complete. The remaining portions are expected to be completed after the pandemic when everyone is declared safe. We will be seeing Vikram in different makeovers in this Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial and it is expected to bring out a different side of Vikram. Vikram will also be playing one of the leads in ace director Mani Ratnam’s historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan, produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies. Vikram is touted to play the role of Aditya Karikalan in this film that has music scored by A.R.Rahman. Dhruv Vikram made his silver screen debut with Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy, and his performance in the film received positive reviews unanimously. Dhruv played the titular character in the film and it was indeed a very intense and strong character that demanded a lot of time, effort, dedication, and more. Chiyaan 60 will be Dhruv’s next outing after Adithya Varma and he will be acting with his father, Vikram for the very first time. National Award-winning actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram's son, Dhruv Vikram, made his acting debut last year with the smash hit romantic drama, Adithya Varma. With the film turning out to be a success, Dhruv Vikram went on to draw praises from many in the industry while also becoming a youth heartthrob in quick time. Adithya Varma, as known to all, is an official remake of the blockbuster 2017 Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, which had Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role and made him a South Indian sensation.

Now, Vijay Deverakonda has sent in personal note congratulating Dhruv Vikram for his performance in Adithya Varma along with his New Year wishes, which the newly introduced Tamil star shared on his Instagram page. Dhruv went on to declare Vijay Deverakonda as the OG (Original Gangster) rowdy and stated that he wished his portrayal in Adithya Varma would be based on a perfect execution of Arjun Reddy while also adding he aspires to be a revolutionary like him some day. Adithya Varma directed by Gireesaya, a former assistant of Arjun Reddy’s writer-director Sandeep Vanga, had Banitha Sandhu playing the role of the leading lady while Priya Anand made an appearance in a supporting role. Produced under Mukesh Ratilal Mehta's E4 Entertainment, the film had music composed by Radhan with cinematography by Ravi K Chandran and editing done by Vivek Harshan. Many have declared Dhruv Vikram's power-packed performance on par with Vijay Deverakonda's in Arjun Reddy and Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor's in Kabir Singh with fans now waiting to witness the Tamil sensation once again in action soon.
