D Imman is one of the leading music directors who has predominantly worked in Tamil Cinema and has also done few projects in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films. The award-winning director made his debut with the 'Thalapathy' Vijay film Tamizhan and has done multiple projects since. Last Year, he was a part of seven projects and won the National Award for Best Music Director for 'Thala' Ajith’s Viswasam Movie in 2021. He has also sung some peppy numbers in many films and a few songs in the composition of other music directors. 

The busy music director D Imman has been involved in various philanthropic and charitable activities through D. Imman Education Trust. In a recent interview by Galatta Media, The music director helped the wife and children of late actor Pawnraj, who is known for being a supporting actor in Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan. The actor died in 2021 due to a heart attack. His wife and two children are left behind in a sad state as she couldn’t find any source of income to feed two small children. The music director brought her a wet grinder through his trust. With the grinder, she can start supplying Dosa and Idly batter in her locality which will help the family get back on their foot.

Wife of actor Pawnraj thanked the director and said “in the one and half years of her husband’s death, I became a nobody and I couldn’t even get a bottle of milk for her kids". She was wailing that she misses her husband and said there were many challenges she faced after his death and Pawnraj was a very loving father who had many dreams for his kids. When the host asked how happy she was that she got the things from the music director. She said "I am very happy and nobody took care of us this way and it's like I have been given a new life". Music director D Imman said that He have provided is just a tool for a start-up and that she must flourish into a businesswoman with prayers and wishes. when asked about how he manages his philanthropic work and music composing. D Imman said he sets aside a day in a week for this work or manages it with someone, "but one can only know the reality form the field and I feel this is the purpose of living”, said the director.

Teddy and Tik Tik Tik famed director Shakti Soundar Rajan's upcoming film Captain wrapped a while ago. Produced under the banners of The Show People in association with Think Studios, the film stars Arya and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead, Simran playing a pivotal character and Kavya Shetty, Thyagarajan, Harish Uthaman, Gokul, and Bharath Raj among others in supporting roles.

The film has remained ominous due to the lack of posters, first looks, teasers, or anything related to Captain from the film's side. But when it was announced that the first single from the film was to be released soon, it was a big treat. Well, the first single titled 'Ninaivugal' has been released. The lyric video is a balance between animated slides as well as small snippets from the film.

The video shows Arya's life in the army and the moments he shares with his team which comprises of training and them having fun together. We also get a look at D. Imman composing the piece with Yuvan Shankar Raja making an appearance as it is him who crooned the song.

The first look poster of Captain looks interesting as it features a huge monster in it and it is the first time we are seeing such a sight in Tamil cinema. It has also been revealed that Arya will be seen playing a never before seen character in the film. Captain also marks the fourth consecutive occasion Shakti Soundar Rajan has teamed up with chart-buster composer D. Imman. Actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for the film. Arya's Captain release date is 8 September 2022.

Shakti Soundar Rajan is known for his one-of-a-kind films and by the looks of it, Captain too will fall under this given the creature on the lines of an alien species that we see in the poster which has received positive feedback from fans all over social media.

Leading Tamil films music director D. Imman has tied the knot with Amelie and photos from their wedding ceremony are doing the rounds on social media. This is the blockbuster composer's second marriage after he announced a few months back about his divorce from his wife of 13 years, Monicka Richard. Imman had earlier this year revealed his father's wish for him to get married once again, with congratulatory messages and wishes now pouring in for him and Amelie. According to reports, Imman's wife Amelie is the late Kollywood art director Ubald's daughter, and the wedding is said to be an intimate one in the presence of close friends and family members. Several notable names from Tamil cinema are said to have attended the ceremony among whom also were singer Krish and his wife Sangeetha, including veteran actress and producer Kutty Padmini, who took to social media to post the first visuals from the Annaatthe composer's wedding. Expressing her joy at attending the ceremony, she wrote on Instagram: "Extremely happy to attend Iman’s wedding this morning I bless Iman & Amali for a wonderful blessed future together."

Meanwhile, Imman had informed last year in December 2021 about his divorce from Monicka Richard and wrote, "To all my well wishers and ardent music lovers who have been supportive all along. I am truly grateful for that As life takes us on different paths, Monicka Richard and I have legally divorced by mutual consent as of November 2020 and are no longer husband and wife. I request all our well wishers, music lovers and the media to give us our privacy and help us to move on and move forward. Thanks a lot for your understanding, love and support- D Imman."

On the work front, Imman had delivered chart-busters in Rajinikanth's Annaatthe last year and more recently in Surya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan and is currently working on the songs and background scores for upcoming films like Arya's Captain and Prabhu Deva's Poikaal Kuthirai to name a notable few.

Leading Tamil film composer D. Imman shared the sad news of iconic pianist Rajeevan David's passing away on social media on Wednesday night. Known best for his Tamil album, Manavaazhvu, Vol. 1, comprising of 17 songs and released in June 2006, he also was D. Imman's tutor at the beginning stages of his career, with the chart-buster Tamil music director taking to social media to express his condolences on his mentor's demise. A celebrated name in Western Classical music in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Rajeevan David's funeral was held at the Kilpauk Cemetery, with family members and close friends paying their last respects. A video from the funeral proceedings is also on YouTube and shows several people close to the late Rajeevan David paying their tributes. 

D. Imman has often both celebrated and extended his prayers for musical artists throughout the course of his career. He has once again come forward with his words of respect and this time for pianist Rajeevan David and his family. Sharing a photo of the late Rajeevan David, he tweeted, "Rest In Peace #RajeevanDavid uncle. A Classy Legendary pianist. One of my music tutors. My heartfelt condolences to his dearest family and friends. My prayers. #RIPRajeevanDavid".

As for D. Imman, he is currently attached to a number of high-profile upcoming projects in Tamil cinema among which include 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Annaatthe scheduled to hit screens as a Diwali release in November, followed by Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam and the Jyothika and Sasikumar-starrer Udan Pirappe, to name a notable few. Post the blockbuster success of 'Thala' Ajith Kumar's Viswasam in 2019, expectations for D. Imman's future projects shot up, especially after he was announced to be coming on board for a Rajinikanth film for the first time. His theme for the Annaatthe title motion poster has since received a huge response and all sights are on the album, which can be expected to be out as the film nears its theatrical release date. 

Arya, who was last seen in a dual act in Magamuni, including playing a major role in Suriya's Kaappaan, in 2019, is at present attached to three big Tamil films that include Teddy, director Pa. Ranjith's period boxing venture Sarpatta Parambarai and the action thriller Enemy, which will see him as the antagonist to Vishal. Among the upcoming projects, Teddy has Arya once again romancing his wife Sayyeshaa after they previously appeared on the big screen in films like Ghajinikanth and Kaappaan. In that light, Teddy directed by Miruthan and Tik Tik Tik fame Shakti Soundar Rajan was announced to be skipping a theatrical release for a direct OTT premiere on the Disney+HotstarVIP from March 12.

An animated film for children, Teddy produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green production has created a lot of buzz of late, with the film's action-packed trailer released last week receiving a phenomenal response, who have been praising the visual graphics that were on display in full flair. Based on the Teddy trailer alone, the film looks to be appealing to the kids and adults as the story primarily revolves around the relationship between Arya and a teddy bear. With promotions already underway, Think Music India, who acquired the film's audio label rights, have now released the much-awaited 'En Iniya Thanimaye' video song that is featured extensively on Arya and his character in the film. 

Teddy, which has music by blockbuster composer D. Imman, has delivered an exceptional album, with the 'En Iniya Thanimaye' song sung by Sid Sriram to the lyrics penned by Madhan Karky turning out to be a hit among fans for its breezy tune. Likewise, acclaimed Tamil film director Magizh Thirumeni, known for his Mundhinam Paartheney, Thadaiyara Thaakka, Meaghamann and Thadam, will be seen as the antagonist in the film. Expectations for Teddy are huge and Disney+HotstarVIP will be looking to taste a bigger success than its previous direct Tamil film release, Mookuthi Amman, starring Nayanthara under RJ Balaji's direction, which premiered last year as a Diwali treat.

The makers of Teddy will also be looking for a similar success, with all sights on the film's premiere on March 12.

Prabhu Deva has been enthralling fans across India with his dancing skills ever since he entered cinema in the 1980s and has since made a big name for himself as an actor and a blockbuster director. Having wrapped up directing his next biggie, the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan starrer Radhe, Prabhu Deva's next film as an actor was launched on Wednesday in Chennai. The yet-to-be-titled project will see the actor-director joining hands with Manjapai and Kadamban fame Raghavan and is being presented by Ramesh Pillai and jointly produced by R. Abhishek, R. Adhithya and R. Siddarth under the  Abhishek Films banner. 

A formal puja was conducted for the upcoming Prabhu Deva film, which has him cast opposite Remya Nambeesan, who impressed earlier most notably in Pizza, Sethupathi and Mercury to name a few. Prabhu Deva's new film also includes a stellar technical crew on board as the music will be composed by D. Imman, who post the massive success of his Viswasam is also scoring for 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Annaatthe, which is scheduled for a Diwali release in November later this year. Having impressed with his skills in films like Maanagaram, Gypsy and Mehandi Circus, Selvakumar S. K. will be handling the cinematography on the newly-launched Prabhu Deva project, which will also feature lyrics by Yugabharathi. 

Prabhu Deva is set to be a busy man once again as an actor as he has completed Radhe, which is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release this May as a massive Eid treat. Radhe is incidentally his third time directing Salman Khan after the blockbuster box office successes of Wanted (Pokkiri remake) and Dabangg 3 released in 2019. As a director, Radhe is Prabhu Deva's 15th film as a filmmaker and expectations are sky-high for it to become a massive blockbuster. Likewise, apart from his film with Raghavan, Prabhu Deva's other notable projects as a hero include Pon Manickavel, Yung Mung Sung, Bagheera and Theal. Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away on Friday at 1.04 PM at the MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai after he tested positive for COVID-19 symptoms on August 5. The 74-year-old had been undergoing treatment for more than 50 days, with his son SPB Charan keeping fans posted on a regular basis regarding his father's health condition. Despite a steady improvement, SPB's health condition on Thursday had deteriorated further warranting maximum life support and he had become extremely critical, as per a statement. MGM Healthcare on Friday afternoon issued a statement after the singer's passing away saying maximal life support measures were adopted in treating him, but his condition worsened further and he suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest.

With SPB no more, fans, celebrities and reputed personalities from various walks of life have been offering their condolences and paying their tributes to the legend. With many revisiting the iconic singer's memorable songs to reminisce about him, composer D. Imman took to his Twitter page to appear on video and pay his tributes to the late singer. Captioning the video "We Miss You SPB Sir. #Annaatthe #RIPSPB", Imman stated, "My greetings to everyone. I'm D. Imman. SP Balasubrahmanyam sir's death has come as heartbreaking news for countless music fans. It is giving me a lot of pain. How many thousands of songs has he sung? He has been a big company to our nights." 

Imman further added, "In my musical journey, when I began my career on the small screen and then while working in films, there were a few occasions where I got opportunities to collaborate with him. One such occasion was the 'Pattu Onnu' song in Jilla. SPB sir and Shankar Mahadevan sir had sung it together and Vijay sir and Mohanal sir appeared on the screen. After that, in Rajini sir's upcoming film, Annaatthe's introduction song, SPB sir has sung once again for my music. So, when I think about his final song for Rajini sir and in my music, I feel so blessed. I have no words to explain. He was such a sweet, loving and wonderful human being. There is no replacement for him. We really miss you, SPB sir. Love you."

A film that is keenly being awaited by Jayam Ravi fans, Bhoomi, will be the actor's landmark 25th film and has been produced under Sujatha Vijaykumar's Home Movie Makers banner. Directed by Romeo Juliet and Bogan fame Lakshman, the upcoming film is a social political drama and had an exciting teaser released in March. Announced initially to hit screens worldwide on May 1, those plans came to an indefinite halt after the nationwide lockdown was imposed. With relaxations across the country coming into effect gradually, film production too is resuming once again in a steady manner. 

Having said that, the makers of Bhoomi have announced that the much-awaited full 'Thamizhan Endru Sollada' song will be released in light of Jayam Ravi's birthday on September 10. D. Imman, who has composed the songs and score for the film, has roped in 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander to lend his voice to the track, which now has a short promo of him in the recording studio along with a few visuals of Jayam Ravi in the film. 

Anirudh has been on a roll lately after the phenomenal response to his songs in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's highly anticipated upcoming action film, Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. His lockdown single, 'Chellamma', in Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor also featuring Priyanka Arul Mohan and under Nelson Dilipkumar's direction too has been given a double thumbs up by fans everywhere. Apart from Jayam Ravi, Bhoomi also includes Nidhhi Agerwal playing the female lead, with Sathish among others in major supporting roles. Excitement for Bhoomi shot up especially after the action-packed teaser was released in March and showed Jayam Ravi flexing his muscles in an out-and-out action role. The teaser teased fans plenty about the story of the film, which looks to be a high-octane social-political drama and would presumably deal with a host of issues hindering the progress of the society, while also delving on the tribulations being faced by farmers across the country. 

Jiiva's upcoming action entertainer film titled Seeru is written and directed by Rathina Shiva who directed Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka and this movie is bankrolled by Ishari K Ganesh under his production studio Vels Film International. Riya Suman is making her Tamil debut with this film and the star is a popular model from the Telugu film industry who debuted in the commercially successful 2016 Telugu film Majnu opposite Nani. Varun who starred in the hit film Puppy will be seen playing a negative role in this film. Navdeep, Sathish and Gayathri Krishnaa will be seen playing important roles as well. D Imman has composed the music for Seeru.
