Actor Dhanush will be building a new house of his, at Poes Garden in Chennai. The bhoomi pooja event happened this morning at the land premises and the pictures from the event are now doing rounds on social media. Wishes have been pouring in from the fans and well wishers for Dhanush on this new venture. Superstar Rajinikanth graced the event with his presence and wished his daughter, Aishwarya Dhanush and son in law for all success. Rajinikanth was accompanied by his wife, Latha Rajinikanth. The other family members were also present at the bhoomi pooja ceremony. Dhanush has become the next important personality after J Jayalalitha and Rajinikanth to build a house in Poes Garden. Very recently, he wrapped the first schedule of his next film, D43, directed by Karthick Naren of Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Mafia fame. Last night (February 9), Dhanush shared an update that he completed the dubbing of his film, Karnan which is scheduled to release in theatres in the month of April. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations, Karnan is a socio-action drama, helmed by Mari Selvaraj who made a promising debut in Tamil cinema with Pariyerum Perumal.

Meanwhile, Dhanush’s highly anticipated Jagame Thandhiram is also ready for release and a clarity regarding the same is awaited. A few days before, there were wide speculations that the film is being planned to release directly on an OTT platform and the news received a negative response from the fans. As Thalapathy Vijay’s Master and Silambarasan TR’s Eeswaran are releasing in theatres for this Pongal, there is a digital OTT release of another film, as well. Yes! We are talking about Jayam Ravi’s Bhoomi which is scheduled to release on January 14 on Disney + Hotstar streaming platform. Bhoomi will join the list of movies like Ponmagal Vandhal, Penguin, Soorarai Pottru, Mookuthi Amman, Andhaghaaram, and others which released directly on streaming platforms during the Covid times. Bhoomi happens to be Jayam Ravi’s 25th film and it is directed by Lakshman who has already made films like Romeo Juliet and Bogan. Unlike the previous two films, Lakshman seems to have taken a very strong and socially relevant theme for Bhoomi.

The film is touted to speak about the problems faced by the farmers in today’s world due to multinational companies. Though we have seen similar premises in earlier Tamil films, we are sure that the treatment will be different. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers have released a new scene as a sneak peek. This scene gives us a glimpse into the film’s core premise and we are introduced to the important characters. Jayam Ravi who is a scientist and a farmer, returns to his native to find that there is no proper groundwater for farming. Ravi finds that there is a mystery behind this and it looks like this is the beginning of his journey against the multinational companies.

This intense scene prepares us for the movie and it has a serious tone to it. The visuals by Dudley look good. Jayam Ravi’s last few films have turned out to be good success and let us hope and wish that Bhoomi also follows suit. With just 20 more days for the release, the makers of Bhoomi will immediately be kickstarting the promotional works. Jayam Ravi penned an emotional note about Bhoomi's OTT release, telling that he feels grateful to making his film available for everyone at the comfort of their homes. A landmark venture for Jayam Ravi, Bhoomi, has been carrying huge expectations right from its announcement considering its the actor's 25th film in his largely successful career. Produced by Sujatha Vijaykumar under her Home Movie Makers banner, the film marks the third-time reunion of Jayam Ravi with director Lakshman, with whom he previously had collaborated on Romeo Juliet and Bogan. The upcoming film is a social political drama and had an exciting teaser released in March, with initial plans to get it out in theatres on May 1 on the occasion of International Labor Day celebrations. However, those plans came to an indefinite halt after the nationwide lockdown was imposed, with talks since then going on regarding the film's release plans. 

In that light, rumors popped up on social media stating Bhoomi is set to become the first Tamil direct OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar for which the makers have now issued an official clarification. Stating that the release plans will be officially declared by Home Movie Makers, Jayam Ravi's manager had taken to Twitter to convey that somebody ought to notify the producer first since nobody has informed them. The tweet has since then subsequently been retweeted by Home Movie Makers and it now remains to be seen the final release plans for the film.
