2023 has surprised Tamil cinema fans with several content-oriented films and one among the many that have turned out to be a commercial and critical success is the recently-released Por Thozhil. The psychological thriller film directed by debutant Vignesh Raja and starring Ashok Selvan, Sarath Kumar, and Nikhila Vimal in the lead roles has been going houseful in theatres across Tamil Nadu. With Por Thozhil continuing its strong run in cinemas, the team on Friday, June 30, took part in the film's success meet in Chennai where Sakthivelan B of Sakthi Film Factory revealed the worldwide box office collections for the first time. 

During his speech at the Por Thozhil success meet event, Sakthivelan B went on to declare that the film has earned around Rs. 50 crores in worldwide collections leaving theatre owners happy while calling it a box office miracle. The reputed producer-distributor also praised director Vignesh Raja calling him a boon to the Tamil film industry. Actor Ashok Selvan, who played the role of a rookie cop in the film also had words of appreciation for Vignesh Raja, adding that the filmmaker has got a clear idea on paper and is meticulous in his script work, while also extending his gratitude to co-actor Sarath Kumar, Sakthivelan B, and the assistant and associate directors and the entire team. Sarath Kumar too chimed in saying he and Ashok Selvan shared a good chemistry in Por Thozhil and off-screen as well, while thanking the media and the audience for making it such a huge success.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with E4 Entertainments and Eprius Studio banners, Por Thozhil revolves around a newbie cop played by Ashok Selvan, who joins veteran police officer Sarath Kumar, in the investigation behind finding a serial killer. The film has music composed by Jakes Bejoy, while the technical team includes cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji, editing by Sreejith Sarang, production design by Indulal Kaveed, followed by costume designs by Dinesh Manoharan, and stunt choreography by Phoenix Prabhu. 

Ashok Selvan is a popular actor who has acted in many hit films and his recent crime Thriller Por Thozhil with debut director Vignesh Raja. Galatta Media recently organised a special fans meet for the actor who is celebrating her 10 years milestone in the cinema industry since his debut with Soodhu Kavvum. In a special segment, his friends from the film fraternity spoke about the actor, K. Manikandan who has also played the lead in another feel-good hit film Good Night. They shared candidly about their friendship and their work recently. Ashok Selvan said He will be very happy for the growth of K. Manikandan and that he was the co-director of Pizza II and the person who give him dialogues in the crew.

Actor Ashok Selvan further went on to say that “I know what kinds of films Mani would choose and the films he is going to choose is much needed for cinema." The actor said in next few years, he wants himself and K. Manikandan to act in more films and shared that they acted together in Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal. He then shared an interesting incident from the shooting spot and added they finished shooting for the film in 30 days. At one point while shooting the climax of Pizza 2 - The Villa the place would be on fire. Ashok Selvan said that was not CG but a real fire. “Thought I would be out that day because we were shooting for three days straight and my whole body was numb”, said the actor. He further said that because of the fire he would feel the burning sensation and that he would run out of location when they call cut. “The only safety measure was a sack that Master would be holding. We both survived that process. He also added "I am very happy that Good Night was a success" and wished Manikandan all success in future "because he has a good heart".

Near the trash can, she feels an irksome feeling as a car makes a beeping sound. She is then alarmed by the same sound. The video shows the actress Nikhila Vimal calling up Sarath Kumar and saying they have received a missing girl report. Sarath Kumar then asks the driver if there is any forest, dense park or garden near that area. It's then revealed that there is a sugarcane farm. The police then go there and begin searching.

This intense new sneak peek shows a glimpse of what people can expect from the crime thriller Por Thozhil. It shows that the film will be a nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat experience for the audience that is set around a series of murders. As the film, Por Thozhil is set to release in theatres in about two weeks fans can expect more updates about the film. The teaser shows that it will be a serial killer story and why the person kills and if the cops played by Ashok Selvan and Sarath Kumar catch them murder forms the rest of the story. The first look reveals the title of the film as Blue Star and two cricket teams are shown as mirror images with Blue on on wise with Ashok Selvan and Star on the other with Shantnu. The makers also revealed the first single from Blue Star titled Blue Star Anthem. The video begins with a huge trophy and then shows the film is set around Arakkonam. The video then shows a glimpse of the two teams arriving on the ground and facing each other. The video introduces the characters Ashok Selvan as Ranjith and Shanthanu as Rajesh. The video then shows a glimpse of some romantic scenes and enmity increasing between the two teams. The song ends with showing a few shots from the cricket match between the two teams with Rajesh bowling and Ranjith batting. The song is a peppy number that has lyrics by Enjoy Enjaami fame Arivu.

As Blue Star revolves around the sport cricket the makers have launched the first look and first single during the IPL match. The director Jayakumar, talented actor Ashok Selvan and producer Pa Ranjith were special guests during the match film. The film also has DOP by Thamizha an Azhagan, Editing by Elavn and music by the talented actor Govind Vasantha who previously gave some hits to Albums like 96, Hey Sinamika, etc.

Ashok Selvan’s Oh My Kadavule, which turned out to be a big hit at the box office also managed to impress the majority of the audience, especially the youngsters. Ashok Selvan is pinning hopes on his next film, Oh My Kadavule, which is expected to be a youthful romantic comedy entertainer. The film features Ritika Singh and Vani Bhojan as the female leads. Directed by debutant Ashwath Marimuthu, Oh My Kadavule is produced by Abinaya Selvam and Ashok Selvan under the banner of Happy High Pictures. Romantic comedy has been a genre that has struck a chord with youngsters everywhere and the upcoming Tamil film, Oh My Kadavule, with its perky and attention-grabbing title will want to make it big when it comes out in theatres. Directed by newcomer Ashwath Marimuthu, the rom-com has Ashok Selvan and Irudhi Suttru actress Ritika Singh playing the lead roles with popular television star Vani Bhojan being cast as another female lead. Sha Ra and MS Bhaskar have been cast in vital supporting roles in this joint collaboration of Axess Film Factory and Happy High Pictures, which has music by Leon James while Meyaadha Maan fame Vidhu Ayyanna is handling cinematography. Actor Ashok Selvan who was last seen in ace filmmaker Priyadarshan's Sila Samayangalil is currently working in his next film titled Nenjamellam Kadhal directed by Nirman. The actor is also working on several other projects that are likely to hit the screens in 2019. The latest update is that the actor will once again be joinings hands with director Priyadarshan to play a crucial role in his upcoming Malayalam periodic film titled Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham which has Mohanlal playing the role of Kunjali Marakkar.

Ashok Selvan, who rose to fame after his crime thriller Thegidi now has multiple projects in his kitty and now the actor has added yet another exciting project to his name.

Ashok Selvan will be teaming up director Prashanth Pandiraj for his next venture to be produced under the Kenanya Films with details about the cast and crew expected to be revealed soon.

Although the title for the film will be announced later today (06.09.2018) evening  at 7PM by actor Arya and Kadaikutty Singam director Pandiraj, sources close to us now inform the project has been titled Jack .
