VIDEO: Santhanam opens up about doing Boss Engira Baskran 2 with Arya | Captain press meet
The Arya-Santhanam duo has been a beloved on-screen combo and delighted audiences last in 2015's Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, while also sharing screen space in films like Oru Kalluriyin Kathai, Chikku Bukku, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, Settai, and Raja Rani. Among the films, they have starred in together, 2010's Boss Engira Bhaskaran, directed by M. Rajesh and also starring Nayanthara, went on to become a massive box office success and continues to be remembered for its comedy and the on-screen camaraderie between the two stars. That being said, Arya, who will next be seen in the much-awaited sci-fi action thriller Captain releasing in theatres on September 8, met the press along with the film's other cast and crew members, with Santhanam as a guest of honor, who spoke about his interest in doing a sequel to Boss Engira Bhaskaran.
Speaking at the Captain press meet, Santhanam said, "Ever since I started taking up hero roles, I have been offered double-hero subjects, and many have called me to do guest roles too. I haven't done any such roles. I'm walking on a track of my own. But, I often say one thing to Arya - if you ever do Boss Engira Baskaran 2, I will come and act alongside you. I say this because that's the friendship we share and he's a true friend. Even when I was a comedian, Arya would encourage me to take up exercising, cycling, swimming, and so on. No matter what you do, you must be like a hero, he’d be telling me."
Santhanam, who was recently seen in Gulu Gulu, further added, "In Boss Engira Baskaran, he gave me a full-length screen space and my love and encouragement for anything he does will always be there. I request everyone to go watch his new film in theatres as Arya is involved as a producer and is a story about aliens. I used to tell him when we were doing Boss Engira Baskaran that the amount of exercise he does and the physique he has built should be utilized well and that he should appear like Arnold (Schwarzenegger) with a gun and shoot, but instead, you're doing comedy with me here in Kumbakonam. My wishes to the entire team of Captain as they've not done a film about the military and the army going after terrorists, but instead tackling aliens, which is a new concept."
Being distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies banner, Captain directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Miruthan and Tik Tik Tik fame is the second time the filmmaker has collaborated with Arya after last year's Teddy and also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead, followed by Simran, Kavya Shetty, Thyagarajan, Harish Uthaman, Gokul, and Bharath Raj in supporting roles, and features music by D. Imman. The film is produced by Arya's The Show People in association with Think Studios and is a -sci-fi action adventure revolving around humans encountering creatures of a new species.

Bigg Boss Malayalam fame Arya gets emotional talking about fighting heartbreak - VIRAL STATEMENT!
Popular Malayalam actress Arya Rohit, who has made appearances in Mohanlal's Lailaa O Lailaa, Jayasurya's Punyalan Private Limited and Mammootty's Ganagandharvan to name a notable few, is known among fans for being vocal on social media about her personal life. Having spoken about her love for her daughter Roya and also about her relationships in the past, Arya, who first started out as an anchor on television, also appeared as one of the contestants on Bigg Boss Malayalam season 2 in 2020. Arya, who recently turned 30, posted an emotional note about fighting heartbreak last year, while also sharing photos from her cake cutting celebration with her family and friends.
Taking to Instagram, Arya posted a detailed note, which is as follows:
Arya wrote, "Last year on this very same day I was going through a very bad phase of my life.. I never knew depression could hit me so badly. The kind of emotions I was going through is way too hard to even explain. Locked up in an apartment in UAE all alone, to get through the rest of the day, I had no other choice but to depend on a bottle of wine and some leftover food to survive the day… But yes I was thrown aboard, my situation went bad, I might have done something bad also. But somehow I survived. Thanks to that person who sensed something wrong by evening and decided to come to me. So this was my last birthday, the day I turned 30 yrs old!!! But today when I look back , it would have been so different if I had made the right choice. I could have been with my beautiful daughter and my wonderful family and friends and could have had the happiest birthday but then NO. I was stupid enough to travel all the way to UAE and spend my birthday with someone who was least interested in me anymore. It was my bloody mistake that I made the wrong choice. Nobody to blame that for."
Stating that she has moved on, Arya added, "Look at me today. I turned 31 today and I have the most amazing smile on my face and my heart is filled with so much of love, peace and gratitude. It’s ok to have few toxic people in your life at least at some point coz then only you will realize who the real ones are. I mean the ones who genuinely love you , care for you. All I am trying to say is.. it’s all in your hands…. Whether to be happy or to destroy your inner peace… it’s all in your hands . Choice is yours … whether to be happy or to break your own heart. Always remember… your happiness is in your hands… keep reminding yourself to choose wisely always. Choose the people who love you unconditionally and who always are there with you. I am so so so happy today… my 31 st birthday was undoubtedly the best one I could ever have… Even though I missed a few of my people I am overwhelmed and happy and most importantly at peace…. A huge thank you and loads of love to my darling family .. friends like family for always always always being there and for being my reason for happiness. Thank you."

Two men who impersonated actor Arya and cheated a woman, arrested - Breaking Development!
By Galatta | 12:00 PM
Leading Tamil actor Arya has been engulfed in a controversy over the past few months after shocking allegations were made against him by a German-based Sri Lankan woman named Vidja after which he appeared before the Chennai city police's Cyber Crime wing a few days back. She had claimed that Arya had given her assurances of marrying her, including alleging that he had cheated her of Rs. 70 lakh. In her complaint, she mentioned that she questioned the actor after his marriage to actress Sayyeshaa in 2019, who told her that he would divorce her after the debts were cleared. Producing the chats supposedly with Arya as evidence to the Chennai city cybercrime, a probe was then launched.
The case has now witnessed significant development. During their investigation, the police discovered that two other persons were chatting with Vidja impersonating Arya. The police found that the two persons - Mohammed Armaan and Mohammed Hussaini - from the Pulainthope area in Chennai had impersonated the actor and cheated Vidja of the amount, while also putting her through immense mental stress over a period of two years. The police have since arrested the duo and legal proceedings have also been initiated. This arrest has now come as a relief for actor Arya who is now cleared off the topic.
In that light, Arya thanked the Tamil Nadu Police for their swift action through his latest tweet. He also mentioned that the last few days have caused him mental trauma. Arya's tweet read, "I would like to thank Commissioner of Police @chennaipolice_ Additional Commissioner of Police-Central Crime Branch and Cyber Crime Team of Chennai city for arresting the Real culprit. It was a real mental trauma which I never expressed. Love to everyone who believed in me".
On the professional front, Arya is riding high on the massive success of Sarpatta Parambarai which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Up next, he has films like Enemy and Aranmanai 3 lined up for release.
