Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's remake of the blockbuster Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru, has landed a title and is being called Sarfira. The leading Hindi actor surprised fans on Tuesday, February 13, with a special glimpse, while also announcing that the upcoming film directed by Tamil filmmaker Sudha Kongara will fly into theatres starting July 12. Taking to X, Akshay Kumar posted the title announcement teaser along with the message, "Dream so Big, they call you Crazy! #Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024. #MaarUdi" (sic)

The Sarfira title announcement teaser gives the audience a glimpse into the action awaiting them on the big screen this July by showing Akshay Kumar riding a motorcycle with his hands wide open and smiling from ear to ear, with a subsequent shot revealing him looking intense into the faraway airstrip. The highly-anticipated film is an official remake of leading Tamil actor Suriya's Soorarai Pottru (2020), who also will be seen appearing in a cameo alongside Akshay Kumar. 

The expectations for Sarfira have been massive right from the get-go as Soorarai Pottru turned out to be a phenomenal success winning five awards at the 68th National Film Awards - Best Feature Film, Best Actor (Suriya), Best Actress (Aparna Balamurali), Best Screenplay (Sudha Kongara and Shalini Usha Nair) and Best Background Score (G. V. Prakash Kumar). Akshay Kumar will be seen paired with Radhika Madan, who has been cast in the role of Aparna Balamurali, while National Award-winning Hindi actor Paresh Rawal will be reprising his role once again from the Tamil version. Sarfira also sees Tamil music director G. V. Prakash Kumar composing the songs and the background score and his work in the 'Maar Udi' track will no doubt get fans wanting for more, with the song expected to be released soon as a single. 

Unlike Soorarai Pottru, which skipped a theatrical release owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown, and premiered directly on streaming, Sarfira will be launched into cinemas and is set to be a big theatrical entertainer. The official synopsis for Akshay Kumar's remake of Soorarai Pottru is as follows: "An incredible story, set in the world of startups and aviation, Sarfira is all set to inspire the common man to dream big and to chase your dreams even if the world calls you crazy." 

Akshay Kumar who is touring for the promotions of his upcoming film Selfiee, that's set to released this weekend set a Guinness World Record on Wednesday for taking the most selfies in three minutes. The well-known Bollywood actor said it was his way of paying tribute to his fans. He posted the a short video from the event on his Instagram page and said everything he has achieved and Where he was in life was due to the unconditional love of his fans. He said “This is an acknowledgment of how they have stood by me throughout my career". He thanked everyone involved in setting the record in the caption and said it was very special movement for him, “I will remember this forever". The actor has set the record by taking 184 selfies in 180 seconds and each one with a different fan. 

This has proven to be a new form of promotion for the film, Selfiee, that's set to release on Friday. The actor also made a mass entry to another promotion event of the film in Delhi NCR by riding in a paramotor. The short video posted by the promotion agency shows Akshay Kumar gliding over the venue in the paramotor waving to a sea of fans below and Emraan Hashmi, who is also a part of the film, joined him on the stage later.

Hindi-language movie Selfiee directed by Raj Mehta is a comedy-drama that has created high-anticipation among fans. As the previous films of Akshay Kumar did not go well on the box-office, this film could set the much needed return of the actor. It’s bank rolled by Dharma Movies and will feature Emraan Hashmi, Mrunal Thakur, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in supporting roles. The film is an official remake of the 2019 Malayalam-language film Driving Licence starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has garnered a pan-Indian status for herself with Family Man. Not only that but the actress also managed to swoon the nation with her steamy item song titled 'Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava' from Pushpa: The Rise. The song is still being listened to for its catchy tunes and lyrics. But it is also being watched as well for Samantha's scintillating performance in it.

She is now well-recognized across various industries not only for her acting prowess but also for her sensational dancing in this song that happened to go viral all over the internet resulting in her fame shooting beyond what is what earlier. During her debut on Koffee with Karan with Akshay Kumar, the two star actors were captured dancing to this hit single. They both lightheartedly perform the hook step from the song as they are seen enjoying each others' company and themselves.

This will be the third episode of Koffee with Karan which will air on Disney+ Hotstar tomorrow (July 21). After that, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Vijay Deverakonda, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Tiger Shroff, and Kriti Sanon will be making their appearance on the popular chat show.

Bobby Simha's Vasantha Mullai is getting ready for its theatrical release early next year and it is expected to be a quality content-driven film. Vasantha Mullai features Simha and Sivappu Manjal Pachai fame Kashmira Pardeshi in the lead roles and has music composed by Premam sensation Rajesh Murugesan. Produced by Rajani Talluri and Reshmi Simha under the banner of SRT Entertainment and Mudhra's Film Factory, Vasantha Mullai has cinematography by Gopi Amarnath and editing by Vivek Harshan. The film is directed by debutant Ramanan Purushothama.

The teaser of the film that was released a few months before had got a positive response from the fans and film buffs, showing a good level of promise. The film will also be released in Telugu and Kannada in the title of Vasantha Kokila. While the final leg of post production is happening in full swing, we hear some interesting developments about the film.

A little birdie tells us that Vasantha Mullai is planned to be remade in Hindi and talks have been initiated with leading actors of Hindi cinema. Akshay Kumar and John Abraham are said to be in talks to play the lead role and more exciting developments are expected to happen in the coming days. If this news happens to be true, it will indeed be an exciting project to watch out for. The development of the Hindi remake plans indeed tells us that the story of Vasantha Mullai is quite fascinating and intriguing enough and it looks like an interesting film is on the way.

Two-time National Award-winning Tamil actor Dhanush will be seen next in Atrangi Re, his third Hindi film after Raanjhanaa and Shamitabh, and is scheduled for a DisneyPlus Hotstar premiere on December 24. Dubbed in Tamil under the title Galatta Kalyaanam, the upcoming rom-com has Dhanush reuniting with director Aanand L Rai after their 2013 blockbuster Raanjhanaa and will see the actor sharing screen space alongside Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, with the music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. 

With promotions already underway for Atrangi Re, the much-awaited 'Rait Zara Si' song has been released officially on Monday and features vocals by Arijit Singh and Shashaa Tirupati with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The Tamil version of the song titled 'Kaadhalai Solla Mudiyaadha' in Galatta Kalyaanam has been sung by Yazin Nizar and Shashaa and, has lyrics written by Kabilan. A. R. Rahman has once again hit the bullseye with 'Rait Zara Si' as the melodious number will no doubt climb up the charts. ​This latest song in Atrangi Re is the second to come out after the chart-buster 'Chaka Chak' track featured on Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush and Dimple Hayathi. 

Expectations for Atrangi Re are massive among Tamil cinema fans as well as it will see Dhanush once again in a Hindi-speaking role. Jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under their T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films banners, the film's trailer released last week to a rousing response. The buzz for Atrangi Re is tremendous especially after the first visuals promise the film to be a fun-filled family watch for the Christmas weekend.

Leading Tamil actor Dhanush recently received his second National Award for Best Actor for his powerful performance in director Vetri Maaran's 2019 blockbuster Asuran. The multi-talented actor is currently attached to several high-profile projects in Tamil and Telugu languages and is also starring in the highly-anticipated Hindi film Atrangi Re, which includes Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and youth sensation Sara Ali Khan. Directed by Aanand L Rai, who earlier launched Dhanush in Hindi cinema with Raanjhanaa in 2013, is reuniting with the two-time National Award winning actor for Atrangi Re, which had a fun-filled trailer released last week. With Atrangi Re announced to be premiering directly on the DisneyPlus Hotstar streaming platform on December 24, promotions have kicked off for the film, with a short promo for the first song titled 'Chaka Chak' that has been released on Monday. 

Atrangi Re has music composed by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, who has once again weaved his magic in the 'Chaka Chak' song, which has been sung by Shreya Ghoshal to the lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. A few visuals from the songwere initially shown in the Atrangi Re teaser last week and the new promo is an extended version featuring Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Dimple Hayathi. 'Chaka Chak' is a wedding song and has a peppy vibe to it, which will no doubt be celebrated by the young and the elderly alike for its foot-tapping beats. 

Atrangi Re, which has skipped a theatrical release, will also be premiering on DisneyPlus Hotstar in Tamil under the title Galatta Kalyaanam, owing to Dhanush's massive popularity. Expectations for the upcoming musical romantic drama are huge as it has been made as a pan-Indian film featuring superstars from the Hindi and Tamil languages. There is tremendous excitement for Atrangi Re especially among Dhanush fans who have been waiting to witness him in action in Hindi once again after he was last seen alongside legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan in Shamitabh.

Dhanush's third Hindi film Atrangi Re will have a direct OTT release and the official announcement on the same was made this morning (November 23). This announcement has come as an unexpected development as people anticipated the movie to release in theatres, considering the fact that the theatres have reopened across the country. The reason behind opting for a direct OTT release is not known. Atrangi Re will be Dhanush's second direct OTT release film after Jagame Thandhiram which was out on Netflix. Atrangi Re will stream on the Disney Hotstar streaming platform on December 24, ahead of the Christmas weekend and the makers are all set to release the film's trailer tomorrow (November 24).

The trailer will give us a clear picture of the film's core premise and its central characters and the fans are already looking forward to seeing the promo video. Atrangi Re features Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan as the other leads and this colourful casting equation is going to be one of the major highlights of the movie. Dhanush will be seen playing the character of Vishu, while Sara Ali Khan plays Rinku. Dimple Hayathi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub would be seen playing supporting roles in this film which has cinematography by Pankaj Kumar and editing by Hemal Kothari.

The film has music composed by A.R.Rahman and the legendary composer's work is going to play a vital role in elevating the film to higher levels. An actor who has a busy 2021 up ahead is National Award-winner Dhanush, whose lineup includes films namely the Karthik Subbaraj-directed Jagame Thanthiram, which is gearing up for a release soon. Likewise, the multi-talented superstar's Karnan directed by Pariyerum Perumal fame Mari Selvaraj will be hitting screens on April 9 as a huge summer treat. Atrangi Re also marks the reunion for Dhanush with director Aanand L Rai after they worked together on the romantic drama film, Raanjhanaa, which turned out to be a nationwide blockbuster. There has been tremendous hype surrounding the upcoming film as it is Dhanush's third film in Bollywood after Raanjhanaa and Shamitabh, with the actor already a sensation among fans up North, especially after his 'Why This Kolaveri Di' took the nation by storm. Dhanush will be returning to Hindi cinema with the romantic drama, Atrangi Re, directed by Aanand L Rai, who introduced Dhanush in Bollywood with Raanjhanaa. Atrangi Re is a multi-starrer that features Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan as the other leads, alongside Dimple Hayati who will be seen as a supporting character. Produced by Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films, in association with T Series, this movie has cinematography by Pankaj Kumar and editing by Hemal Kothari. Dhanush's young makeover looked neat and it created good expectations among the fans. The shooting of this film has been happening for the past 1.5 months in several locations including Madurai, Karaikudi, etc. Dhanush, Sara and Dimple took part in the Tamil Nadu schedule. Last week, we saw Dhanush shooting for the film in Noida.

Following that, Akshay Kumar has now officially joined the sets of Atrangi Re from today (Dec 4) and a new glimpse from the film has been released. This glimpse picture features Akshay Kumar and Sara sharing a lighter moment. More details regarding their characters are awaited. Dhanush is not seen in this picture and it looks like he might not be a part of the new schedule. Akshay had recently wrapped up the shooting of his film, Bell Bottom which was entirely shot in the cities of UK.

Sara Ali Khan shared her excitement about sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar through an Instagram post. Sharing the same picture, Sara wrote, “AtrangiRe becomes more Rangeen! 🌈💛💚🤗🙌 @akshaykumar so privileged, excited and thankful to be working with you!”.

Atrangi Re has music scored by AR Rahman who has a good success ratio with both Dhanush and Aanand L Rai. Talking about the songs in Atrangi Re, Dhanush recently recorded a song, making his singing debut in Hindi. Dhanush posted a picture with AR Rahman after the song recording and the update made the fans excited. Film buffs and music lovers are eagerly awaiting the release of that song. Atrangi Re was initially scheduled to hit the screens on February 14, 2021, for Valentine's day, but due to the global pandemic and change in shooting plans, the release date might be changed.
