Thala Ajith is now gearing up to start shooting for his next, Valimai, directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP. This high octane action thriller is expected to start from the third week of December. Having said that, rumours about the ace actor's next has already surfaced on social media. Reports on media suggested that AK 61 aka Thala 61 will be produced by veteran producer A.M.Rathnam (Sri Sathya Sai Movies) who shares a good rapport with Ajith.
The duo have already worked together in films like Arrambam, Yennai Arindhaal, and Vedalam. However, when we checked with our close sources, they denied this information as a baseless rumour. Nothing has been finalized as of now for AK 61 and it will take a few more months to materialize. In addition, we got to know that A.M.Rathnam will be producing a new film under the direction of Atlee's former associate.
We will update you on the director's name very soon, but for now, get to know that the Rathnam's next production venture will be helmed by a debutant, an associate of Atlee. AM Rathnam is also known for his association with Thalapathy Vijay through films like Kushi, Ghilli, and Sivakasi.

It has been reported that Vadivelu has been roped in to play the lead comedian in Ajith Kumar’s upcoming film Valimai directed by H Vinoth. When we contacted our sources close to the production house, they told us that Vadivelu is not part of the project and the reports doing rounds are not true. Vadivelu had previously worked with Ajith in Raja which released 17 years back. Vadivelu’s other associations with Thala are Pavithra, Thodarum, Aasai, Raja, Rajavin Parvaiyile, Raasi, Minor Mappillai and Anantha Poongatre. They have given us some memorable comedy scenes in these films.
Valimai on the other hand is still in its pre-production phase and the makers are likely to start shooting in the month of December. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to score music for the project while Nirav Shah will be handling the cinematography department. Valimai will be Nirav’s 4th association with Ajith after Kireedom, Billa, Nerkonda Paarvai. This 60th film of Ajith will be funded by Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Production house. More details regarding this project are expected to be out in the coming days.

Manish Borundia reveals that Ajith introduced him to films!
By Aninditha | Galatta | 01:00 PM
We have seen many actors try out in films and fail only to succeed later on with other projects. Manish Borundia is definitely one of them. The actor was supposed to make his big debut with PC Sreeram’s Vaanam Vasappadum. But, he had to let go of it because of his heavy Hindi accent. Soon he did supporting roles in films like Kushi and Parthen Rasithen. Now, after a really long gap, the actor was seen again in Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal.
Talking to a leading daily, Manish revealed that Ajith was the one who introduced him to films. “I was born and brought up in Chennai. I began modelling while I was looking after my father’s business. Our family knew Ajith sir well and I used to visit him at film sets often. It was one of those days when an actor who was supposed to do a role in Amarkalam didn’t show up. Ajith sir asked me to do the role and introduced me to the movies. I already have experience facing the camera as I have done a lot of TVCs. That’s how it all began for me,” he told the leading daily.
Talking about his break from acting, Manish told the leading daily, “You don’t get paid for doing small roles and I had to support my family. So, I went to Hong Kong and then moved to Bengaluru. But I was always in touch with a couple of people from the industry, including PC sir. Even though we didn’t get to work with each other, I learnt a lot from him since we spent nearly six months on Vaanam Vasappadum. He suggested my name to Jagan Shakti, the director of Mission Mangal. And that’s how I got a role to play. Initially, I thought I will come for five minutes. But I was there throughout the film. I am really happy that they retained my character in such a big project. Films have been my passion and I am looking at doing some interesting roles in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. Let’s see if this opens up opportunities for me.” Let’s see what is in store for this actor in the future!

On the professional front, Shanthnu has two projects in his kitty. While the first one is Raavana Kottam with director Vikram Sukumaran of Madha Yaanai Koottam fame. This project is said to be a rustic one that is expected to showcase Shanthnu in a different avatar. The other one is the romantic drama, Vaanam Kottattum, produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
