The Galatta Golden Stars 2024 held held in Chennai on March 29 was a day to remember as several leading names in the film fraternity were honored on the big stage. Among those who went to be celebrated was Tamil superstar Karthi, who was conferred with the 'Entertainer of the Decade' award, which he went on to receive from leading Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda and blockbuster filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Expressing his joy at the special honor at the Galatta Golden Stars 2024, Karthi revealed that the love he has received over the years in Tamil cinema is something he never expected, while extending his gratitude to everyone who had supported him since he began his career. 

Karthi started off his speech at the Galatta Golden Stars 2024 by saying, "I try not to repeat what I do and choose new themes in each of the films I do. There will be wins and losses at times, but I'm working to give you all a good theatrical experience on each occasion. This award has convinced me that I don't need to change myself, but to continue to keep working as I am. So, I thank Galatta and all the artistes, and all my fans." He further said, "Receiving this award from Vijay Deverakonda and Sandeep Reddy Vanga gives me a lot of pleasure." 

Vijay Deverakonda then chimed in stating, "Much before I became an actor, I remember watching many of Karthi anna's films Yuganiki Okkadu (Aayirathil Oruvan), Naa Peru Shiva (Naan Mahaan Alla), and Paruthiveeran in pirated prints with subtitles in Telugu dubbing. These are some of my favorite films. These are all actors that I studied, watched, admired, and loved. I don't think I ever even told you this. So, it's amazing that I'm here today and it's an honor, and I'm so happy for everything he's doing and everything that's coming soon." Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga too showered his praise at the Galatta Golden Stars 2024 and said, "After Arjun Reddy, I got a surprise call from Karthi sir. He really loved the film and supported everything, and we spoke for long. And, for the first time, I'm seeing you sir. I saw all your films from your first film Paruthiveeran. I give so many examples of Paruthiveeran while I was making Kabir Singh in Bombay by showing some of your scenes to Shahid Kapoor and we took so many references. He deserves this award." 

The celebrations didn't end there for the fans at the Galatta Golden Stars 2024 as Karthi and Vijay Deverakonda teamed up for a special dance performance to the 'Adada Mazhaida' song from Paiyaa (2010). There was yet another special honor for Karthi, who went on to be felicitated by the farming community for his efforts to promote agriculture through his Uzhavan Foundation. The teaser of the highly-anticipated Telugu film, Family Star, is out now and gives viewers a glimpse into the mix of action and comedy to be witnessed in cinemas soon. Announced to open worldwide on April 5, the upcoming family comedy drama film written and directed by Parasuram Petla of Sarkaru Vaari Paata (2022) fame stars Telugu heart-throb Vijay Deverakonda and national sensation Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. With a glimpse released last year receiving a stellar response, the much awaited Family Star teaser out now shows Vijay Deverakonda as a youth, who is all about his family and will step up for them at any given time. 

The Family Star teaser starts off showing Vijay Deverakonda as a middle-class happy-go-lucky yet disciplined youth, who will do anything it takes to ward off anything wrong against his family. We see moments where he is helping out with the family chores, spending time with the kids and having a hearty conversation with the elderly, while also going full out against thugs, giving audiences a taste of the action. Vijay Deverakonda, who plays a engineer, goes about his life in Family Star, until Mrunal Thakur is introduced towards the end of the teaser as a college student, and it's quite clear that there's fireworks in their chemistry right from the get-go. 

The Family Star teaser looks to be a perfect entertainer ahead of the summer holidays and will also be coming out in Tamil considering both Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur enjoy a big fan following. The film marks the second time Vijay Deverakonda and director Parasuram Petla are collaborating after the blockbuster Geetha Govindam (2018), which also starred Rashmika Mandanna, with reports suggesting that she will be seen making a cameo appearance. Family Star has a solid technical team onboard starting with Gopi Sundar composing the songs and the background score, followed by cinematographer KU Mohanan, and editor Marthand K Venkatesh as the editor.

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Kushi is out in theatres and is witnessing a strong audience turnout for the romantic comedy film directed by Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori (2017), Majili (2019), and Tuck Jagadish (2021) fame. The Telugu film came out in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages and had been promoted on a grand scale across major Indian cities. Apart from the lead pair Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha's on-screen chemistry turning out to be the big USP in Kushi, the music in the film prior to the release had generated a lot of buzz among fans, and Malayalam music director Hesham Abdul Wahab, who is best known for his work in the blockbuster Hridayam (2022), continues to be credited for adding strength to the film's success. 

With Kushi out in theatres, the smash hit 'Aradhya' video song has now been released and shows Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha as newlyweds and head over heels in love cuddling and cozying up with each other. The Tamil version of the song sung by Sid Sriram and Chinmayi Sripaada to the lyrics penned by Madhan Karky and English verses by Shiyas Abdul Wahab is already a smash hit and is currently leading the charts. The romance depicted in the 'Aradhya' video song in Kushi strikes a chord with young couples and newlyweds and Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha certainly show the love and spark in the beginning stages of a marriage. The film is the second time both stars have shared the screen after appearing in crucial roles in Mahanati (2018), which earned Keerthy Suresh the National Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of yesteryear South Indian cinema icon Savitri.

Some reports stated that the cast and crew of the film are currently in Turkey to film the movie. Vijay Deverakonda has also shared the post on his social media and said “Favourite girl”. The film Kushi is set to release on September 1 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. The film will have music composer by Hesham Abdul Wahad, who recently delivered the hit album in the Malayalam film Hridayam. Apart from Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda the film also has Jayaram, Sachine Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Rohini and others in important roles.

All set to be seen next in Kushi, a special birthday for the star's fans has now been released from the pan-Indian film, which is being directed by Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori, Majili, and Tuck Jagadish fame. Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of Kushi, have now released the first single track from the Tamil version of the film titled 'En Rojaa Neeye', which shows him romancing blockbuster South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. 

Composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, who is best known for his work in the 2022 Malayalam blockbuster, Hridayam, the 'En Rojaa Neeye' song in Kushi picturized on the lead pair Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha has been sung by the music director himself to the lyrics penned by Madhan Karky. Both Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha are seen looking super cute in the song, which also includes some behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage from the shooting in locations in Kashmir. 

Kushi is an upcoming romantic comedy and is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on September 1 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. The film will see Vijay Deverakonda as an employee of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), while Samantha is playing the role of a young Muslim woman, with Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar and Saranya Pradeep set to appear in key roles. As fans await to witness their big-screen chemistry amidst huge expectations, both Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha will be hoping for Kushi turn out to be a success considering each of their previous films, Liger (2022) and Shaakuntalam (2023) received a mixed response.

Liger is an upcoming sports-based action film written, directed, and produced by Puri Jagannadh under the banner Puri Connects. The film has been shot simultaneously in both Telugu and Hindi, the film is co-produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions and Charmme Kaur. Vijay Deverakonda stars in the titular role as a mixed martial arts boxer alongside Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles. American boxing legend Mike Tyson plays an extended cameo, thus marking his acting debut in Indian cinema.

Liger marks the film debut of Vijay Deverakonda in Hindi cinema and Ananya Panday's in Telugu cinema. Liger is scheduled for pan- Indian theatrical release on 25 August 2022. Vijay plays the role of a boxer in this sports drama that has an intense love story.

Two of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, Vijay Deverakonda, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, have wrapped up the first leg of filming for their Telugu film Kushi in Kashmir under Shiva Nirvana's direction. The hit director, who is known for his films like Ninnu Kori, Majili, and Tuck Jagadish, took to social media on Monday and shared photos from the team's first schedule wrap celebrations, while also reminding fans that the upcoming film will arrive in theatres for the holidays on December 23. We see in the first picture the entire cast and the crew of Kushi on location in Kashmir, while Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha, and Shiva Nirvana pose for the camera along with a few team members in the second image. Leading South Indian actress Samantha, who is celebrating her birthday, was in for a surprise on Thursday, from the team of her upcoming Telugu film with Vijay Deverakonda. The Arjun Reddy actor has released a video on his YouTube channel today that shows him and Samantha shooting for a scene for their film, which is later revealed to be fake, in order to surprise the Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal actress. In the video, we see director Shiva Nirvana conceiving a fake romantic scene with Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha, before the team surprises the actress with a birthday cake after the prank and leaving her astonished when the celebrations begin.

The upcoming venture is Vijay Deverakonda's 11th film in his career and has him and Samantha teaming up under Shiva Nirvana's direction, who is known for directing Ninnu Kori, Majili, and Tuck Jagadish. Launched last week, the upcoming film is touted to be a family entertainer and will be strong on the emotional front, with filming currently taking place in Kashmir. Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha's casting alone has generated massive excitement among fans and is the second time the duo is coming together after appearing in pivotal roles in Keerthy Suresh's Mahanati. 

Being produced under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda's film has a talented team onboard featuring the Telugu debut of composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, whose songs in the Malayalam blockbuster Hridayam are still reigning at the top of the charts. The film also has cinematographer Murali. G, who is known for his work in Madras, Kabali, Kaala, and Sarpatta Parambarai directed by Pa. Ranjith. 

Apart from their film together, Vijay Deverakonda will be seen next in the boxing drama Liger, which has him paired with Ananya Panday under Puri Jagannadh's direction. The Telugu star will also be teaming up with Puri Jagannadh once again for a film titled Jana Gana Mana after which he will work in an untitled film with director Sukumar. As for Samantha, she is a part of the Telugu mythological film Shaakuntalam, which is in its post-production stages, and will also be seen in the pan-Indian science fiction thriller venture Yashoda. The actress will be making her Hollywood debut as well in The Arrangements Of Love, which will be directed by Downtown Abbey filmmaker Philip John.

Vijay Deverakonda will be joining hands with director Shiva Nirvana who has directed movies like Ninnu Kori, Majili, and Tuck Jagadish and this new film will be a quality family entertainer that will be strong on emotions. Directors Koratala Siva, Harish Shankar, KS Ravindra (Bobby), and Buchi Babu graced the film's launch event. We are used to seeing Vijay Deverakonda in intense action-driven films and this one will be a welcoming changeover.

Star actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been roped in to play the female lead and this will be the duo's second outing together after Mahanati. The star equation of Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha is going to be one of the major highlights of this film which is expected to go on floors by the end of this month. Hridayam sensation Hesham Abdul Wahab will be composing music for this film, marking his debut in Telugu cinema and it is indeed a solid breakthrough for the talented composer. Murali G who is known for his successful associations with Pa Ranjith in movies like Madras, Kabali, Kaala, and Sarpatta Parambarai, will be handling the cinematography.

The rest of the cast is yet to be announced by the makers. This movie will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Vijay Deverakonda's next release will be Liger, the intense sports drama, helmed by Puri Jagannadh. One of the biggest and most popular names in South Indian cinema, actress Tamannaah has garnered a massive fan following over the years, especially among Tamil and Telugu audiences. Last seen in Tamil cinema in 2019's Action opposite Vishal, Tamannaah recently appeared on Samantha Akkineni's new chat show, Sam Jam and indulged by giving fun answers to the Mersal actress' queries. During the rapid-fire session on the show, Samantha posed the Baahubali actress with the question as to whom she would choose to break the no-kissing rule for the big screen. 

Addressing Samantha's question, Tamannaah went on to reveal that she would like to kiss Telugu sensation Vijay Deverakonda, but did not elaborate her answer as it was a lightning round question. The Devi actress is one among the many film industry personalities in recent times who have gushed about the Arjun Reddy star. Although Tamannaah has not yet starred opposite Vijay Deverakonda, their pairing on the big screen will no doubt be a delight when it happens considering both stars enjoy huge popularity in South India. 

Tamannaah had earlier in October tested positive for coronavirus and had been keeping her fans posted with regular updates on her health. The Devi actress had remained in isolation and underwent treatment for nearly three weeks before being declared negative for COVID-19 and expressed her gratitude to the doctors and medical staff for taking good care of her, while also thanking her fans for standing by her and sending their constant words of encouragement and support. 

Tamannaah is currently attached to four projects in Telugu namely, That Is Mahalakshmi (remake of Queen), Seetimaarr, Gurthunda Seethakalam (remake of Love Mocktail), which are in different stages of production, while also being announced to be reprising Tabu's role in the Andhadhun remake alongside Nithiin and Nabha Natesh. She will be seen in the Hindi film Bole Chudiyan opposite Nawazuddin Siddique and is also set to be making her digital debut in the Tamil web series The November Story, which will be streamed on the Disney+ Hotstar platform.
