Vannakkamda Mappilei | Tata Bye Bye - Lyrical Video | GV Prakash | Rajesh M | Sun Entertainment
By Vivek Raj | Galatta | 10:55 PM
Composer G. V. Prakash's next film as an actor is the M. Rajesh directorial Vanakkamda Mappilei, which is a Sun Entertainment production venture. The upcoming film is the second collaboration for GV Prakash and director Rajesh after they earlier worked in Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru in 2016. Vanakkamda Mappilei had its first look unveiled earlier this week to a rousing response, with GV Prakash earlier announcing that National Award winner Dhanush had sung a song titled 'Tata Bye Bye' in the film. The GV Prakash-Dhanush combo has been a highly successful one as the blockbuster music director has composed several hits for the actor.
Featuring lyrics by Gaana Vinoth, 'Tata Bye Bye' in Vannakkamda Mappilei is a fun number, which has a simple and catchy tune composed by GV Prakash and is complimented well by Dhanush in his rustic voice. Featured primarily on GV Prakash, the visuals in the song also show the film's heroine Amritha Aiyer and is bound to become a hit for its peppy lines and foot-tapping beats. Vannakkamda Mappilei is skipping its theatrical release and will be premiering directly on the Sun TV channel. The film is also an important one for director M. Rajesh, who will be looking to come back on a bang after the debacle of his Mr. Local starring Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara.
Apart from GV Prakash and Amritha Aiyer, Vannakkamda Mappilei also stars Anandaraj, Daniel Annie Pope, and Bigg Boss fame Reshma Pasupuleti in vital supporting roles. Touted to be a fun-filled youth entertainer, fans expect the film to be a comeback for M. Rajesh, who earlier delivered box office successes like Siva Manasula Sakthi, Boss Engira Baskaran and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Likewise, Amritha Aiyer too will be looking to make it big after her last appearance in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's mega blockbuster, Bigil. Sun Entertainment is a network of Sun Network and are planning to premiere Vanakkam Da Mappilei on the auspicious festive occasion of Tamil New Year in April. The upcoming film will be the next big direct premiere on the Sun TV channel after the Prasanna starrer Naanga Romba Busy and Vikram Prabhu's Pulikkuthi Paandi.

By Arvind Sundaram | Galatta | 05:25 PM
Last night, Suriya made an announcement stating that Soorarai Pottru will not release on October 30, as initially announced due to various reasons. Since the film is set in the aviation industry, the makers have to obtain NOCs (No Objection Certificate) from several airforce organisations and that is said to be taking time. Only after clearing all the legal formalities, the film will be ready for a grand digital release and the fans have been asked to wait for a few more days. However, as a compensation, Suriya released a new video song from the film and it came as a big surprise for the fans. The song was called 'Aagasam' and a 1-minute video of the song was released. Following that, the makers have now released the full song as a lyric video which runs for close to 5 minutes. This song marks the collaboration of GV Prakash and popular music band, Thaikkudam Bridge (Govind Vasantha). The popular tune phrase of Thaikkudam Bridge's song, 'Urumbu' has been used with proper rights and it is crooned by Govind Vasantha and Christin Jos. Aagasam's lyrics is penned by Arunraja Kamaraj. Kaathodu Kaathanen Song Video | GV Prakash Kumar | Dhanush | Aditi Rao
By Galatta | 05:29 PM
Having turned an actor from being a music director, GV Prakash is one busy actor these days. He had 5 releases last year - Sarvam Thaala Mayam, Kuppathu Raja, Watchman, Sivappu Manjal Pachai and 100% Kadhal. Sivappu Manjal Pachai, by director Sasi and with Siddharth as another lead, went on to become a super hit. Even Sarvam Thaala Mayam performed decently well at the box office but rest of the films couldn’t make any impact. But his biggest success in 2019 came a music director, his tunes for Dhanush’s Asuran made a huge impact among film buffs and it was one of the main reasons for the success of the film as well.
GV Prakash also has quite a few other movies lined up for release and he is still signing up movies left, right and centre. Due to corona lockdown, he hasn’t had any releases this year so far. His next release would be Jail directed by Vasantha Balan. It must be noted that GV Prakash made his debut as a music director through Vasantha Balan’s Veyil. This deadly combo is reuniting after a very long time and they have decided to release a soulful melody Kaathodu Kaathanen from the film now. The song is sung by Dhanush and Aditi Rao Hydari. Vasanthabalan praises GV Prakash and Abarnathi's performance in Jail - check out!
By Arvind Sundaram | Galatta | 10:31 AM
Director Vasanthabalan is known for his acclaimed hard-hitting films like Veyil, Angadi Theru, Kaaviya Thalaivan, Aravaan, etc. He is currently awaiting the release of his next film, Jail, that stars G.V.Prakash Kumar and Enga Veettu Mappillai fame Abarnathi in the lead roles. In a recent live interaction with Galatta Media, Vasanthabalan heaped praise on the performances of the lead actors. He said, "GV's performance in Jail will stand out and be talked about. You will definitely see a difference, something that you haven't seen in his previous movies.
He has played a character called Karuna. He has done it so naturally that you'd never see GV Prakash anywhere. Since we both have a comfort zone, it was easy to mould him and make him do what the character demanded". Similarly, talking about Abarnathi, he said, "Tamil cinema is going to get another talented performer like Anjali. Abarnathi has played the role of a woman who sells biriyani for her livelihood. Pichutta. She's done it wonderfully.
What you saw in Anjali's performance in Angadi Theru, the same impact would be there in Abarnathi's performance. She will reach bigger heights after this film. She would steal the show. I told her that there is a liplock scene in the film. She surprised me and asked how many lip locks are there in the film as she was ready for it, knowing that the story demanded it." Vasanthabalan, while talking about the film, said that Jail will deal with a global problem that is told in a commercial pattern. You can check out the live video here:
