Vishal's first big film of 2023, Mark Antony, has had fans talking in sheer excitement ever since the first set of promotional material was unveiled and the buzz has gone one step further with the release of the 'Adhirudha' song featuring vocals by the multi-talented T. Rajendar. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran and featuring music composed by National Award-winning composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, the song video offers audiences a glimpse at the high-end entertainment and also a look at Vishal alongside filmmaker-actor SJ Suryah tapping their feet to the pulsating and peppy beats. The 'Adhirudha' track was first teased in the Mark Antony teaser released back in April and the full song video now no doubt has come out as a fulfilling treat ahead of the film's release in September on the auspicious occasion of Vinayaga Chathurthi.

'Adhirudha' is a dance blast from start to end and G. V. Prakash has delivered keeping in mind the tone of Mark Antony, which is a time travel-based sci-fi action entertainer. The film is also releasing in Telugu and the song titled 'Adharadha' will feature vocals by Vishal, who has made a comeback to playback singing after nearly a decade when he sang the smash hit 'My Dear Loveru' song in the unreleased Sundar. C-directed film Madha Gaja Raja. 'Adhirudha' has all the potential to become a chart-topping hit and the dance in the song with Vishal and SJ Suryah is set to be one of the biggest highlights of Mark Antony. 

Produced under S. Vinod Kumar's Mini Studios banner, Mark Antony is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on the festive occasion of Vinayagar Chathurthi in September. Vishal will be seen sharing screen space with SJ Suryah, who is one of the biggest USPs of the film, with the ensemble star cast featuring the likes of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal actor Ritu Varma playing the female lead, Pushpa fame Sunil, Selvaraghavan, Abhinaya, Redin Kingsley, and Y. G. Mahendran in key roles.

National Award-winning filmmaker Sudha Kongara is celebrating her birthday today (July 5) and wishes have been pouring in from all quarters. In that light, composer-turned-actor G. V. Prakash Kumar conveyed his birthday wishes to the hit director on social media saying he is waiting for the world to witness her work in the Hindi remake of their smash hit Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru, starring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead role. GV Prakash also shared his excitement for Sudha Kongara's next film in Tamil after the release of the Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake, which is scheduled to fly into theatres on September 1. 

Taking to Twitter, GV Prakash wrote, "Happy birthday dear @Sudha_Kongara  …. Waiting for the world to witness the magic u have done with #SooraraiPottru Hindi version which is going to stun Bollywood … and ur next after that in tamil which is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (sic)". Although GV Prakash hasn't shared too many details about Sudha Kongara's next, the filmmaker back in 2022 at the Suyasakthi Virudhugal Awards revealed that she has already signed a film with Suriya, with fans now waiting for the big announcement on the tentatively titled Suriya 43. Loosely based on the life of Captain G. R. Gopinath, founder of the low-cost Indian airline Simplifly Deccan, Soorarai Pottru skipped a theatrical release premiering directly on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform during the Covid-19 pandemic. The film went on to become a sensational success for the global streaming giant in 2020 and won five awards at the 68th National Film Awards among which included Best Feature Film, Best Actor (Suriya), Best Actress (Aparna Balamurali), Best Screenplay (Sudha Kongara and Shalini Usha Nair), and Best Background Score (G. V. Prakash Kumar).

With the Tamil version turning out to be a stellar hit, the Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake under Sudha Kongara's direction starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in the lead roles is being produced by Arun Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment banner in association with Suriya and Jyotika's 2D Entertainment. Featuring a cameo appearance by Suriya, the upcoming Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake's title is yet to be announced and will have music composed by GV Prakash, who back in May revealed that popular Hindi singer Mika Singh had recorded a song to the lyrics penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla. 

Two-time National Award-winning actor Dhanush's Vaathi has turned out to be a phenomenal success and continues to go strong in cinemas everywhere. The film also released in Telugu under the title Sir has been directed by Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema and Rang De fame, and features music by chartbuster composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, who himself won the National Award for Best Background Score in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru last year. With Vaathi witnessing a fantastic response at the box office, Venky Atluri and G. V. Prakash sat down for a heart-to-heart conversation with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about their film, while also giving an insight into the extensive work they had put in for the songs and the background score. 

During the interview, G. V. Prakash opened up about the staggering feedback for the 'Vaa Vaathi' song on leading streaming channels. He said, "Vaa Vaathi is a blockbuster hit. You can't believe the streams it is doing. The digital world is shocked. All the digital platforms like Spotify are calling and telling me the digital numbers we are doing. They are saying it is not possible. It is doing one crore streams in Telugu. Two and a half to three crore streams in Tamil. Overall, we have four crore streams for the 'Vaa Vaathi' song. All of them are shocked by the unbelievable numbers of Vaathi's audio." 

Filmmaker Venky Atluri then chimed in to say how Dhanush had predicted during filming Vaathi that the song would make actress Samyuktha a huge sensation among Tamil audiences. He said, "I still remember, when we were shooting that song, Dhanush sir was there and Samyuktha was walking. And, immediately he looks at her and says to her, 'You're a very lucky girl because this song will make you a star.' That's exactly what happened. We didn't know. Whatever said and done, she's my film's heroine, but the moment we slowly realized that the transformation of this actress into a star, I've seen it. When she was sitting in the theatre with her face covered up with a mask, the moment the 'Vaa Vaathi' song started, people are whistling, clapping, all the cell phones are up recording. It was like a concert. Everyone was recording and waving. And, after that, every time Samyuktha is walking in, they're clapping and yelling. The song made her a star." GV Prakash added, "The surprise is not coming from Tamil theatres. We had the same response in theatres in Andhra Pradesh for the Telugu version of the song 'Mastaaru Mastaaru'." Venky Atluri concluded by saying, "This recording is happening overseas as well."

Following Selfie, GV Prakash and Gautham Vasudev Menon have starred together in one more movie - 13 and the official teaser of the movie was released this evening (October 20). The teaser of 13 looks quite promising and it looks to be an intense horror thriller that will keep the audiences on the edge of their seats. GV Prakash is entering the horror zone after his debut film, Darling and it looks like an interesting product is in the making. The teaser keeps us hooked with its visuals and the makers do not reveal much about the plotline of the movie. GV Prakash plays a happy go lucky man whose life changes drastically on one night after which everything turns awry and terrifying.

On the parallel side, we see Gautham Menon who seems to have played a very interesting character. An extensive portion of the film has been shot inside a forest and those portions garner our attention. The shooting of the film has already been completed and the post production works are happening in full swing. One can expect an official announcement on the release plans to be made soon. This film is directed by K Vivek who seems to have got a potentially interesting script in hand. CM Moovender has shot the film which has editing by JF Castro and art direction by Shankar. Apart from GV Prakash and Gautham Vasudev Menon, the film also stars Adithya Kathir, Aadhya Prasad, Bhavya Trikha, and Aishwarya in important roles. Earlier today (July 27), the first look poster of Dhanush's next film, Vaathi was released and it has grabbed the attention of the fans and film buffs. Dhanush is celebrating his birthday tomorrow (July 28) and the makers have released the first look as a special birthday treat for the fans. The first look has a classy appeal to it and doesn't have any mass elements to it, unlike the usual big star films. We see Dhanush sitting in front of a table and writing something in a library setup, establishing his character. Dhanush seems to play a teacher in this film and more details regarding his role are awaited.

It will be a double treat from the team of Vaathi because the teaser of the film will also be out tomorrow (July 28). Yes! The teaser of Vaathi will be released tomorrow evening at 6 PM on YouTube and that would give us a brief picture of what the film is going to be about. Produced by Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments, in association with Sai Soujanya's Fortune Four Cinemas, the film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar who recently bagged his maiden National Film Award for Best Music Director for his outstanding score in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru.

Samyuktha Menon plays the female lead in this film that is helmed by popular Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri, best known for helming films like Tholi Prema and Rang De. Vaathi has cinematography handled by J Yuvraj, while Navin Nooli and Avinash Kolla have taken care of the editing and art direction departments respectively. Vaathi has been made as a Tamil - Telugu bilingual and the Telugu version of the film is called Sir. Though the makers are yet to reveal the release plans of the film, it is said that the film is likely to hit the screens towards the end of this year. Dhanush's next release as an actor will be Thiruchitrambalam which is slated for release on August 18.

GV Prakash is one of the busiest actors we have in Tamil cinema and the music director turned actor has various interesting projects in his pipeline. One of the interesting and promising films on the list is Selfie, which is directed by debutant Mathi Maran, a former associate of Vetri Maaran. Selfie will have ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon playing a pivotal role, as the antagonist. The face off between GV Prakash and Gautham Menon is expected to look gripping and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the same. GV Prakash - Gautham Vasudev Menon starrer Selfie will release in theatres on April 1, as a summer treat. Mirchi Shiva's Idiot and Ashok Selvan's Manmadha Leelai have already booked their berth for the same slot and Selfie has joined as the third film to release on April 1. A single song from the film, titled 'Oor Karan' has already been released and it has garnered a positive reception from the audience. Produced by D Sabhareesh under the banner of DG Film Company and presented by Kalaippuli S Thanu's V Creations, Selfie has Varsha Bollamma of Bigil fame playing the female lead. Selfie will have GV Prakash Kumar playing the role of an engineering student. GV Prakash has composed music for this movie which has cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy, and editing by Ilayaraja. AR Mohan and Rambo Vimal have handled the art direction and stunt choreography respectively.

Apart from Selfie, GV Prakash has various other projects including Idimuzhakkam, Rebel, Adangathey, Ayngaran, 4G, and more. GV Prakash, the composer is also busy with mega biggies like Maaran, Vaadivaasal, Vaathi, Yaanai, Sardar, and more.

Leading Tamil actor Dhanush's next film Maaran is gearing up for a grand premiere on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform and promotions for the new-gen investigative thriller are being carried out extensively by prestigious production banner Sathya Jyothi Films. Directed by Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Mafia fame Karthick Naren, chart-buster composer G. V. Prakash Kumar is scoring the music and the background score, with the makers on Saturday releasing the second single track titled 'Annana Thaalaattum' sung by popular Bollywood singer Anurag Kulkarni to the lyrics penned by popular songwriter Vivek, who is incidentally also making his debut as a dialogue writer in the upcoming film. 

'Annana Thaalaattum' is picturized on Dhanush and actress Smruthi Venkat, who is playing his younger sister in Maaran. The lilting song depicts the love and affection shared between siblings and GV Prakash has yet again worked his charm in coming up with a melodious number after the foot-tapping 'Polladha Ulagam' number, which has gone on to receive staggering feedback. Fans are particularly excited for Maaran as it is the fifth occasion that GV Prakash has composed music for a Dhanush film after their previous blockbusters Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, and Asuran. 

Maaran is a big film for Smruthi Venkat after she made heads turn as RJ Balaji's sister in the devotional comedy film, Mookuthi Amman, starring Nayanthara in the lead role. The new film will see Dhanush pairing with Master heroine Malavika Mohanan and she too is playing the role of a journalist, while the supporting cast features names like Samuthirakani, Soorarai Pottru fame Krishnakumar, Master Mahendran among others in pivotal roles.

Vishal will be joining hands with director Adhik Ravichandran of Trisha Illana Nayanthara and AAA fame for a new action packed entertainer and the film is titled Mark Antony. Being planned to be shot on a massive scale as a pan Indian biggie, this film has SJ Suryah playing the key antagonist and he will be continuing his beast form of Maanaadu with this new film as well. The face off between Vishal and SJ Suryah is going to be one of the interesting aspects to watch out for. Dhanush's next release in Tamil cinema will be Maaran, the Karthick Naren directorial which is currently in the post production stages. Maaran is touted to be a stylish action entertainer which has Dhanush playing the role of an investigative journalist and the fans have pinned high hopes on the movie. Maaran features the hot and sensational Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, marking her first outing with Dhanush. Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, KK (Soorarai Pottru fame) play pivotal roles in this film which has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The star composer's recent form has been great and he will be looking to continuing the momentum with Maaran as well.

Having said that, GV Prakash took to his official Twitter page this morning to share a super exciting update on Maaran. GV Prakash mentioned that the final mastering work of the first single is progressing at a brisk pace and shared interesting details regarding the song. The intro song of Maaran is sung by Dhanush himself and it has lyrics penned by Vivek. The young musical sensation Arivu has taken care of the rap portions in the song. Looking at GV Prakash Kumar's tweet, it looks like we may expect the first single from Maaran to be out very soon and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the same. Maaran is rumoured to have a direct OTT release on the Disney Hotstar platform but the makers are yet to make an official confirmation about it. Dhanush is currently shooting for his Telugu - Tamil bilingual, Sir / Vaathi which is directed by Venky Atluri. GV Prakash and Gautham Vasudev Menon will be seen acting together for the first time with Selfie, an upcoming Tamil film directed by debutant Mathi Maran, a former associate of Vetri Maaran. Earlier today (December 2), the trailer of Selfie was unveiled and it gives us a sneak peek into the world created by Mathi Maran. The trailer looks promising and has been packed with several highlight moments, keeping the audience intrigued. From what we see, it looks like the film talks about the conspiracies in buying college admission seats through unofficial agents / third-hand parties.

Gautham Vasudev Menon plays the antagonist in this film and he seems to have delivered a solid performance. From what we see, it looks like Selfie will be the next big thing for GVM, the actor, after Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal and Trance. GV Prakash in an anger-filled character is full of enthusiasm. The combination scenes of GV Prakash and Gautham Vasudev Menon is expected to be the USP of Selfie. The trailer has opened to a positive response from the audience making them eagerly look forward to watching the film. Varsha Bollamma of 96 and Bigil fame plays the female lead in this film and we get to see a short glimpse of her in the trailer.

Debut director Mathi Maran seems to have worked on a solid script with a good potential to connect with the masses. Let us hope that the film turns out to be a success at the box office.
