It was a memorable evening on November 30 as fans got to witness the biggest stars lead the celebrations at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023 and blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Atlee was one of the major highlights of the star-studded event. The hit director, who is fresh from the massive commercial success of his big Bollywood debut, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was honored with the 'Box Office King of Indian Cinema' award presented by Kavery Kalanithi. Atlee, whose Jawan grossed more than 1000 crores at the worldwide box office, expressed his happiness at receiving the 'Box Office King of Indian Cinema' accolade at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023, while also reaffirming that this is a sign of identity that someone from the Tamil film industry can make it big in Hindi cinema. 

Speaking at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023, Atlee said, "Shah Rukh sir had come to my office for a meeting. After the interaction, my wife Suji (Priya) and I escorted him to see him on his way out when he told me to accompany him to the stadium. I told him that if I joined him it would be a confirmation that we were doing a film. He then said that we were indeed doing a film. There was this one photo that came out at the time, which received a lot of hate comments. I saw how people said, 'Are you someone who can sit there?' I say now, 'Yes, I am the guy and we can do it.' That is my feeling today, but God is so kind. What we think, God will do for us, but we'll have to work hard and sincerely for that. We need to be there for our family. That is all. You will go ahead. So, thank you Suji for getting this to me, and thank you ma'am (Kavery Kalanithi). I have a big connection with Sun TV. I received my salary as an assistant director for the first time for Enthiran from Sun Pictures. It has been my wish long-time wish to do a film with them and I think it will happen soon. Thank you, ma'am (Kavery Kalanithi) for giving me this award. I'm honored."

Upon being asked about his next possible collaboration with 'Thalapathy' Vijay, the much talked about Thalapathy 69, Atlee said at the Galatta Nakshatra Awards 2023, "I would like to speak about Kalanithi Maran sir. Of course, I have deep respect for Baahubali and S. S. Rajamouli sir, but before that, Kalanithi Maran sir was the person who made Indian cinema turn around and look back at us. He's the visionary behind Enthiran and made the entire world look at us and say that we too can make a film that. So, I always have respect for him. At one point, I took Jawan to him and he said, 'Tell me, Atlee, we'll work on it.' He has never let me down. So, if I'm approaching him, I will go with my biggest and best film, and I think it will happen soon." When queried about writing a story for both Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay, Atlee said, "I too heard about it. Yes, I'm writing and it'll be nice if it happens."

Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has crossed 1000 crores in collections, the film's team announced on Monday, September 25. The mass action entertainer film directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee has made 1004.92 crores in global box office collection as of today across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. Jawan is incidentally 'Bollywood Baadshah' Shah Rukh Khan's second film in 2023 to cross 1000 crores in collections after the blockbuster Pathaan and makes him the first Hindi actor to achieve the massive box office feat. 

The celebration surrounding Jawan was huge even before its release in theatres on September 7 and the excitement skyrocketed after it opened in cinemas worldwide. The film's success is testimony to the phenomenal response across the country and is now the third venture in Hindi to hit those numbers after Pathaan (2023) and Aamir Khan's Dangal (2016). and is the sixth in India overall after Telugu filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) and global RRR (2022) and Kannada superstar Yash's K.G.F: Chapter 2. Jawan has also been revealed to have collected 505.94 crores with its Hindi version alone at the box office and it now remains to be seen how much further the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer goes on to see in collections and all sights will be on the film to surpass the Bollywood superstar's Pathaan. 

Atlee, who made his big Bollywood debut with Jawan, has also become the first Tamil film director to break through into the 1000-crore club, which is undoubtedly a remarkable accomplishment. The film also served as a big launchpad for several other big Tamil cinema names in Bollywood, including 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara who plays the female lead, followed by music composer 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer GK Vishnu, and editor Ruben. Jawan also has 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi cast as the antagonist and Deepika Padukone making a special appearance, with Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover playing key roles, while Sanjay Dutt was seen in an important cameo.

The hit director's wife-actress Priya has also shared her wishes by posting a picture on her socials of both of them together along with their son, Meer. She also had big words of love to share for Atlee and thanked him for making her life beautiful, while adding that their son Meer would have a tough time matching up to his love for her. Priya continued in her romantic note with the promise that she would give him happiness forever and praised him for everything he is today.

Jawan is the next big film of actor Shah Rukh Khan after the record-breaking success of Pathaan which was celebrated by his fans and movie buffs. The actor is joining hands with a Tamil film director Atlee who will be making his Bollywood debut with the film. The makers had revealed an exciting Prevue ahead of the release of the film in September and it crosses over 112 million views in 24 hours. The actor replies to two of the cast and crew members of the film and thanked them on the Twitter handle. He first replies to Atlee's tweet saying “Your are da man!!!!!!”(sic) and thanked the director for everything and making sure that Atlee's son AK Meer gave his inputs with the filmmaker's wife Priya!! And ended with “Love u all”.

Shah Rukh Khan then expressed his thanks to Vijay Sethupathi saying “Sir an honour to work with you Thanks for teaching me a bit of Tamil on the sets & the delicious food u got. Love u Nanba!”.

The actor then took time to reply to the tweets of dance master Shobi, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, Sumit Aroraa, GK Vishnu, Ridhi Dogra, and Gaurav Verma. He made a special reply to the editors of the film Antony Ruben as he said: “Thank u for all the cuts and chops!! My Love to u… and now you can get a haircut and catch up on some sleep”. He also replied to music composer of the film Anirudh Ravichander Young he will miss the "vampire nights” and added, “Love you to the moon (because it can be seen only at night) and back beta.”

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan has a massive cast including 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara who is making her big debut in Bollywood.
