The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 was held in Mumbai on Tuesday evening, which saw several leading names in Indian cinema grace the gala ceremony. Considered to be India's highest award in the field of cinema and presented every year at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, notable films released in 2023 were honored yesterday. Among the films that were honored at the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2024 were Jawan with four awards, followed by Animal securing three accolades, while Pathaan and 12th Fail won two each. 

Jawan, which turned out to be a raging box office success last year, won the Best Film award, with Shah Rukh Khan coming out on top as the Best Actor, while Atlee was judged the Best Director (Critics). Nayanthara went on to be declared the Most Versatile Actress, while Anirudh Ravichander took home the Best Music Director accolade. Ranbir Kapoor's Animal earned three big wins at the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2024 ceremony with the Best Director accolade going to Sandeep Reddy Vanga, while Bobby Deol emerged triumphant as the Best Actor in a Negative Role and Anil Kapoor being deemed as the Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Leading Tamil filmmaker Vignesh Shivan's next big film, Love Insurance Corporation (LIC), was announced on Thursday evening, December 14, with photos from a formal pooja ceremony also being released on social media, which revealed the star cast. The upcoming film is touted to be a fun-filled romantic comedy akin to the blockbuster director's previous ventures and will see Comali (2019) and Love Today (2022) star Pradeep Ranganathan and youth sensation Telugu heroine Krithi Shetty of Custody (2023) fame as the lead pair, with SJ Suryah also set to appear in a pivotal role after his power-packed performances in Mark Antony and Jigarthanda DoubleX this year, while 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is composing the songs and the background score. 

With production on Love Insurance Corporation set to kick off soon, the team on Saturday, December 16, released a video showing candid moments from the film's pooja ceremony held earlier this week. The video shows Vignesh Shivan, Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Anirudh, producers Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, including Ravi Varman, who will be handling the cinematography in the film, with Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar also gracing the occasion as a special guest. Sharing the Love Insurance Corporation pooja ceremony video, the film's team wrote, "All is well that begins well. ❤️ Hoping to see you all smile just the way we do. 🤗 Unveiling the auspicious Pooja ceremony of ‘Love Insurance Corporation 🥳 Here’s the much awaited candid moments from #LIC Poojai." Vignesh Shivan's LIC will also see Yogi Babu playing a pivotal role and fans can expect quite a lot of antics from the comedian-actor alongside the Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, and SJ Suryah trio. With cinematographer Ravi Varman leading the technical team, some other notable names include editor Pradeep E Ragav, who previously impressed everyone with his work in Comali and Love Today, while Praveen Raja is the costume designer and is the talk of the town after his costumes caught the attention of fans in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's recent blockbuster, Leo. 

It's official - blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Vignesh Shivan's next big film announcement is out and is titled Love Insurance Corporation or LIC. The upcoming film has been revealed to star Pradeep Ranganathan of Comali (2019) and Love Today (2022) fame and Custody (2023) heroine Krithi Shetty in the lead roles alongside SJ Suryah, who has been on a roll after powerful performances in Mark Antony and Jigarthanda DoubleX this year, with Vignesh Shivan and Lalit Kumar serving as producers and will feature music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. The big update about Love Insurance Corporation has come from Vignesh Shivan himself, who shared the news on Instagram along with pictures from the pooja ceremony held earlier today.  

Sharing the big announcement of his next film, Vignesh Shivan wrote, "Thanking God and the universe for making this dream project of mine come true 🙏❤️😇" (sic). For a while now, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the filmmaker's LIC after it was revealed that Pradeep Ranganathan would be playing the lead role, with fans now extending their congratulatory messages and wishes to the film's team. Vignesh Shivan's Love Insurance Corporation will see Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, and SJ Suryah sharing screen space with Yogi Babu, who has been cast in a key supporting role, with the technical team featuring talented names starting with cinematographer Ravi Varma, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and costume designer Praveen Raja.

Love Insurance Corporation is Vignesh Shivan's next film after Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022), which sgtarred Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha in the lead roles and turned out to be a big box-office success. The filmmaker will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders once again as expectations are high for him to deliver yet another cracker of an entertainer.

'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander has taken a stunning opening in cinemas worldwide and the film's team is continuing to create more excitement four days after its release. The much-awaited fifth song titled 'Ordinary Person' has now finally been officially released after the audiences first got to listen to the track after the mass action drama's global premiere on October 19, with the response turning out to be nothing short of sensational. Featuring vocals by Nikitha Gandhi and lyrics penned by Heisenberg, 'Ordinary Person' is yet another special treat for Vijay's fans everywhere, who have been in high spirits after the film's monstrous start at the box office. 

'Ordinary Person' is the second track to be released after the 'Villain Yaaru' track sung by Anirudh and Shakthisree Gopalan to Vishnu Edavan's lyrics received a stellar response last week after Leo's theatrical release. With both 'Villain Yaaru' and 'Ordinary Person' now out, the final unreleased track that fans will be looking forward to up ahead will be the 'I'm Scared' track in the week ahead. The Leo team surprised fans during their theatrical viewing with the unreleased tracks after the 'Naa Ready', 'Badass', and 'Anbenum' songs in the film's album turned out to be chart-topping hits. 

The feedback for Anirudh's work in Leo has been met with massive appreciation from audiences and critics alike, and the album is yet another feather in the cap of Tamil cinema's 'Rockstar'. The film is also the second occasion the composer has come up with hit tunes and a thunderous background score for a Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj venture after the blockbuster, Master (2021). On the box office front, Leo has grossed 400 crores in worldwide collections so far up until its fourth day, with the numbers set to go higher as there aren't many big releases in the days ahead.

The film's music composer Anirudh Ravichander has sung the song along with Shakthisree Gopalan and features lyrics penned by Vishnu Edavan, who has also written the rest of the tracks released so far. Fans got to listen to 'Villain Yaaru' in theatres first after Vijay's Leo opened on October 19, with the response turning out to be sensational. 

'Villain Yaaru' is the fourth track in the Leo album to be released after the 'Naa Ready', 'Badass', and 'Anbenum' songs in the film became chart-topping hits. The feedback to Anirudh's songs has been tremendous and the composer has delivered yet another power-packed foot-tapping album, with his background score in the film also receiving high praise. Leo is the second time that Anirudh has composed music for a Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj film after their Master (2021), and his work in the mass action drama is being called one of the best in his musical career. With 'Villain Yaaru' now out, the 'I'm Scared', 'Ordinary Person', and 'Ratata' songs, which fans got to hear first in theatres, have also been announced to be releasing back-to-back in the next few days, and will no doubt be expected to be out in quick intervals. 

Leo has taken a staggering start at the worldwide box office grossing 148.5+ crores on day one and has also set the record for the highest for an Indian film in 2023. The film has been smashing records left, right, and centre at the box office, and the success is set to get bigger on account of the Ayudha pooja holiday weekend in the days ahead as multiplexes and single-screen theatres will be witnessing a large audience turnout.

'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo is set for a gargantuan theatrical release starting October 19 and fans have now begun celebrations after the film's music director Anirudh Ravichander dropped his review after watching the film. On Monday, October 9, the 'Rockstar' of Tamil cinema shared his reaction on social media after watching the mass action drama film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj during a private screening. Taking to X, Anirudh posted his Leo review in the form of five sets of emojis, leading to a super-enthusiastic response from Vijay's fans, who are in high spirits after his latest response. 

Anirudh posted in his Leo review the fire emoji, followed by the collision emoji, and the trophy emoji, in five sets thus implying that the Vijay-starrer is  an explosive visual feast to be enjoyed in theatres. It is to be noted that the blockbuster composer had earlier this year posted similar reviews for 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which saw him deliver chart-topping hits songs and thunderous background scores. Anirudh's latest reaction in his Leo review will no doubt get fans hyped up for the film's release considering they are still on a high after witnessing Vijay in a high-octane action mode in the film's trailer.

Leo marks the second time the Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Anirudh trio has teamed up after their box-office money-spinner Master (2021) and they will be looking to hit the high note once again with their latest action treat. The film has Trisha playing the female lead and is incidentally her 67th venture, with Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, 'Action King' Arjun, Mysskin, and Sandy master cast in negative roles, while Mansoor Ali Khan, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, Iyal, among others, will also be making appearances. 

A grand success meet of 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander was held in Chennai on Saturday, September 16, which saw the stars and the technicians grace the occasion. The major highlight of the event was the actor's speech in which he went on to appreciate all the people associated with Jailer, while also recalling the journey of being a part of the film to its success. Rajinikanth said, "I watched the film first without the re-recording. I then asked Sembian sir and Kannan sir about their opinions on the film. Kannan was all praise. I told him, ' Nelson is your friend and you will obviously appreciate him.' I then asked Sembian and he said the film was average. But, the film before the re-recording was done, was average to me too. However, the manner in which Anirudh lifted the film was, 'My God'. He transformed Jailer almost like a bride-to-be after makeup. Superb." He further stated, "And, the technicians who worked in the film, especially cameraman Kartik. I didn't expect him to add such an effect to the film. After the completion of the shooting, he stayed in Bombay for more than 30 days, watched all the frames, and added a big effect to the film. And, when editor Nirmal took the film and filled it up completely, the effect was superb." 

Explaining his joy at Jailer becoming a hit, Rajinikanth said, "I swear, when this film became a hit, I was happy only for five days. After those five days, I started getting tensed about my next film and how to make it an even bigger hit since there will be higher expectations now. Really I'm telling you, I'm under a lot of tension about my next film and I don't know what to do. I have to mention this too. Kalanithi sir was the first to watch the film with Nelson and Anirudh. When Anirudh asked if he felt it would come out like Petta, Kala sir it's the Baasha of 2023. Then, at the audio launch, he declared that the film was going to be a mega-hit and a record-maker." He continued, "It's no simple thing to say such a thing openly in public and that is why I'm saying he can become an astrologer. At the time when Baasha became a hit, I began doing only one film a year and decided to shift gears and do different films. And, that is when I did Muthu, and a period film after that and went ahead without any comparisons. But, my next film is also a modern subject, and the tension that I'm feeling now, it's the same for Nelson too. All this has fallen in place at the right place by God's grace." 

Speaking about the cameos in Jailer, Rajinikanth said, "Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff, and Mohanlal came and acted in the film. Nelson is a good example of how to make use of an artiste for a cameo. Even if their roles were short, they acted wonderfully and I want to thank all of them. If you look at how the situation is now, the people are enjoying the minute details after the film came out on OTT. It's a celebration." He added, And, a special mention about Nelson's comic sense - hats off to him for that. Before the release, I mentioned Sholay and its villain Gabbar Singh, and how the character became a sensation when it was released in 1975. Similarly, I then told them that the Varman character played by Vinayakan in this film would become a sensation like Gabbar Singh. Raman has respect because of Ravana. Likewise, the respect for Jailer is because of this Varman. He gave such a wonderful performance. Suneel, Tamannaah, VTV Ganesh, and everyone did a wonderful job."

Looks like the wait is set to come to an end for 'Thalapathy' Vijay's fans everywhere as the much-awaited Leo second single announcement seems to be around the corner. A new photo of Anirudh Ravichander is now doing the rounds on social media in which he is seen at his studio leading to speculations that the blockbuster music composer is working on something special. Although there's been no word so far on the highly-anticipated Leo second single, there is a buzz that an announcement is due and can be expected soon.

The expectations for the Leo second single are huge, especially after the first song 'Naa Ready' sung by Vijay and Anirudh and featuring rap written and performed by Asal Kolaar to the lyrics penned by Vishnu Edavan, received a staggering response. The high-energy track released as a special treat on Vijay's birthday in June has already registered several records on streaming platforms while crossing 100 million views on YouTube recently, with a similar reaction once again being contemplated for the Leo second single. 

Anirudh has been a powerhouse addition to Leo and fans will be looking for him to top his game after 'Naa Ready' in the film, which is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on October 19 ahead of the Ayudha pooja festivities. It is to be noted that the hit music director is collaborating with the 'Thalapathy' Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj duo for the second time after their Master (2021). Leo is billed to be an out-and-out mass action feast and will see Vijay sharing the screen alongside Trisha once again after 15 years, with Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, 'Action King' Arjun, and filmmaker Mysskin cast in negative roles, while director Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Sandy master, Mathew Thomas, among others, will be seen making appearances as well. 

Shah Rukh Khan took part in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with fans on X on Thursday, August 10, where he answered several queries, including the ones about his next big film, Jawan. Scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on September 7, the upcoming film is touted to be a mass action thriller and marks the big Bollywood debut of several big Tamil cinema names starting with filmmaker Atlee, 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara, 'Rockstar' composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer GK Vishnu and editor Ruben. 

During the AMA session, Shah Rukh Khan was posed with several questions about Jawan, including one about the message of the film. The 'Bollywood Baadshah' responded saying, "The film has a strong take on women empowerment…how to respect and stand for them. (sic)" He also revealed that the film will be an "emotional drama" apart from including loads of action. Upon being asked how much time it took to complete the film, SRK stated that it was, "a little longer than should have", while adding that, "Atlee has become less Jawan (sic)". When asked whether he fell for co-star Nayanthara during the film's shooting, the Hindi cinema superstar gave an epic witty response and promptly said, "Chup karo! Doh bacchon ki maa hain woh (Shut up! She's mom to two young kids)!! Ha ha. #Jawan.(sic)" Shah Rukh Khan also showered praises on Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi and his performance as the villain in Jawan. A section of Shah Rukh Khan's fans held a special screening of Chennai Express (2013) in 50 North Indian cities, with the actor mentioning it was a lovely experience ten years ago. He added that there's a new Chennai Express loading now in the form of Jawan with Atlee, Vijay Sethupathi, Anirudh, Nayanthara, dance choreographer Shobhi, and fight master Anl Arasu. The actor also went on to reveal that his favorite Jawan song is titled 'Chaleya', which he informed is "romantic and sweet and gentle..." like him while complimenting Anirudh saying he "has excelled". Declaring that the upcoming film too will be getting a "full 3D IMAX version", SRK hoped that he gets a place in the hearts of his fans in South India. Upon being asked whether he'd watch 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer, the Pathaan star said, "Of course I love Rajni sir….Maassss!! He had come on Jawan set and blessed us too. (sic)" Shah Rukh Khan concluded his AMA session answering a question about Jawan director Atlee and whether he could dance.
