Thalapathy Vijay's Theri, directed by Atlee is all set to be remade in Telugu with Ravi Teja in the lead role. The announcement was made last year though the project didn't take off as planned. When rumours were buzz that the film is shelved, the makers came out last week and cleared the air by telling that the project is very much on.

It was also reported that the film will go on floors in April. The latest inside reports suggest that the film could be titled as Kanakadurga. An official word is yet to be made on this regard. Ravi Teja is expected to undergo physical training to make himself fit into the shoes of a police officer. The original Tamil version was directed by Atlee and the film was a huge success in the box office.

Theri was an action drama that emphasized the importance of a father's role in upbringing their kid. This Telugu remake will be directed by Santosh Srinivas of Kandireega fame with Catherine Tresa reprising Samantha's role. More details regarding the film will follow suit in the coming days.
