The super hit romantic entertainer of Kollywood Raja Rani has impressed the Telugu audience too. Raja Rani is doing immensely well at the box office. The film collected over Rs. 4 crores on the opening day itself. Fox Star Studios has taken up the distribution rights in Telugu also. Though they had an option of selling it to the local distributors, the faith in the film had made Fox take this decision.

Nayantara and Arya have played lead roles in the film. Director Shankar's disciple Atlee has made his debut as director with this film. Jai, Sathyaraj, Nazriya, Santhanam and Sathyan are seen in pivotal roles in the film.
