Bollywood hot girl Meenakshi Dixit, who performed a sizzling item number in Mahesh Babu starrer Dookudu, will be seen as a princess in Srikanth's new film Devaraya, directed by Nani Krishna.
Talking about her role, Meenakshi said: "Such roles are rare to come by and I think I have done justice to it, in terms of looks and performance as it’s a period story about a renowned kingdom."
The actress also said that she prefers meaty roles to item numbers. "My first love is acting and not dancing, so it’s better to do roles that have scope for performance. I may do an exciting item song once in a while,” she added.
Produced by Kiran Kajjam Shetty under the banner of Sunray International Cinema, Devaraya also has Parvathi Menon and Swetha Bharadwaj in the female lead. Srikanth plays a dual role - Dorababu and King Krishna Devarayalu. Chakri has scored the music.
