Anaamika Movie review
Ace director Shekar Kammula's much awaited flick Anamika starring Nayantara has finally released worldwide. Anamika is the remake of the Bollywood hit movie Kahaani starring Vidya Balan. Popular composer M M Keeravani has scored music for the movie. Apart from direction, Shekar has donned multiple roles of handling the screenplay and also producing the flick under Amigos Creations banner. The surprise package is renowned writer Yandamuri Veerendranath has penned the dialogues for Anamika.
Anamika (Nayantara) is in search of her missing husband. She comes to India from USA to find her missing husband. She begins the journey by staying at the same hotel - Galaxy Hotel where her husband stayed. She takes police help too. The police department doesn't respond to the situation so responsibly. Only one police officer Sarathy (Vaibhav Reddy) supports her in her journey. In this process, parallely the home minister (Naresh) and Special Task Officer Khan (Pasupathy) involvement is traced. Then how these secrets unfold forms the rest of the story.
Nayantara has performed brilliantly as a single helpless yet strong NRI woman. Vaibhav complements Nayan well in his role as a supporting officer. Shekar Kammula succeeds in bringing a thrilling and gripping narration to the plot.
Kammula has made some changes to suit the south audience. Nayan is not a pregnant woman in Anamika, as in the case of original. M M Keeravani's background score is simply superb and establishes a good emotion. Vijay C Kumar cinematography is very engaging and captivating. The old city as a character itself is beautifully shown.
Overall Shekar has improvised and delivered a good remake.
